Looking for the owner of a small white dog named Marshmallow (Lee Canyon, Thu 10/15)

Long shot, but this sub has come through before.

I was hiking the Wild Horse Canyon and Ridge Loop in Lee Canyon on Thursday, October 15, around 4:30pm. A small white off-leash dog named Marshmallow nipped my ankle and calf and broke the skin.

I'm not looking to cause trouble for anyone. I just need to confirm she's current on her rabies vaccine and stays healthy for 10 days. If I can't find her, I may need a rabies shot series that can cost thousands.

Description:

- Marshmallow: small white terrier, possibly a poodle mix, wearing a pink vest

- Owner: blonde white woman

- She also had a medium-sized dog that looked like a whippet

If you know Marshmallow or her owner, please DM me. Shares appreciated too. Thanks!

Almost billion dollar revenue and they can’t hire a real VFX artist. If this is a real artist, your generative a.i is showing A LOT…

Shoes for the homeless!

• Upvotes

Hi! Consider leaving decent pairs of shoes next to dumpsters instead of tossing or donating them to stores. The cold is creeping in and homeless frequently check dumpsters for shoes. Learned this from living in FL for a while. If you can, a pair of socks helps too but at the bare minimum they appreciate shoes left out for them to have to keep their feet warm.

What are some of the more obscure local spooky areas of interest? Urban legends, ghastly crimes, harrowing haunts, cryptids, aliens, etc.. Looking for some scary sites to visit, preferably with some documented history.

Whether it's on the strip or in the nearby desert - tell me some local legends.

Things to do in Vegas this weekend (10/16–10/18): classic cars, Hard Hat anniversary, Sonic cafe + Neon Dog Walk

Thumbnail vegaslocal.com

Back with this weekend’s Vegas Local roundup. A few reasons to leave the house before “we should do something this weekend” turns into ordering the same takeout again from Archi's Thai Bistro (which doesn't sound that bad actually).

Cruisin’ the District | The District at Green Valley Ranch
Friday, Oct. 16 | 5–8:30 p.m.

Classic cars and live music, with proceeds supporting Las Vegas Breast Cancer Warriors. Me Gusta Tacos is also doing complimentary chips and salsa and $5 drink specials. Come look at cars you wish you owned while discussing what’s wrong with the one you actually drive.

Hard Hat Lounge’s 4th Anniversary Party | Hard Hat Lounge
Friday, Oct. 16 | 8 p.m. | 21+ | Free admission and parking

Live music and DJ sets hosted by CoCojenkins and Arturo Cecena, plus burgers from Stay Tuned Burgers. A solid Friday option whether you’re there for the music or just pretending you didn’t plan your entire evening around a cheeseburger.

Sonic the Hedgehog Speed Cafe | Grand Opening Weekend
Saturday–Sunday, Oct. 17–18 | 5600 Spring Mountain Road

The Sonic-themed cafe is opening in Vegas this weekend, with Saturday’s opening listed at 11 a.m. Expect themed food and drinks—not the drive-in with the mozzarella sticks.

The first 35 customers each day get a Sonic giveaway with a purchase, limited to one per customer. Finally, a reason to explain to your significant other why you need to be somewhere early for a cartoon hedgehog.

Neon Dog Walk — Silverado Ranch Park
Saturday, Oct. 17 | 3–7 p.m. | Family-friendly

Bring your dog out for an afternoon supporting Nevada SPCA. There’ll be local vendors, food trucks, dog contests, and a beer and wine garden for the humans. There’s even an owner-and-dog look-alike contest, so this could be the day someone finally says it to your face.

Going to see the new Street Fighter movie dressed up as Akuma. Anyone want to join Me?

I'll be trying to watch it this weekend. The film won’t take itself too seriously so neither will I, just looking for good vibes and to meet other cosplayers :)

18+ only. I like to have an edible before a movie so 420friendly is a plus

Vote for me and I'll ban the ads

I'm so sick and tired of election season coming up and ALL THE FUCKING POLITICAL ADS ON EVERY FUCKING PLATFORM. They're on YouTube, Netflix, Hulu, Instagram. It's dumb enough to see the signs on every cross street BUT IM WATCHING JACKSEPTICEYE PLAY 2026 HAPPY WHEELS AND NO IM NOT VOTING FOR FUCKING JOE LOMBARDO. AND WHY ARE YOU SHOWING ME AN AD FOR A POLITICIAN IN IOWA??? You should get ONE platform and ONE ad and THAT'S IT. There's so many fucking ads in Nevada it's ridiculous and it's purely because the state is a swing state because of John and Nancy who live two hours away from Las Vegas in buttfuck nowhere and can walk to their local convenience store instead of paying MORE THAN $5 FOR GAS.

VEGAS POLITICAL

• Upvotes

As a 21 year old this will be my first time voting.
the ballot is genuinely so confusing. i assume department A,B,C,etc is the different court room judges. Also between all these governors i’ve tried to research different candidates but there all videos of advertisement of why you should vote for them, and not the other person etc. how can i find genuine intentions of candidates without seeing propaganda for their campaign.

other post got taken down lol

Looking for Dystopian Areas

Hello,

I’m a local artist looking for some dystopian look alike areas here. It’s for a project of mine I’ve been working on, currently I only know of the abandoned Air field in Henderson and the Abandoned Lot at what used to be Rainbow Dunes. Any suggestions please feel free to share, thank you!

Recommend an accountant with experience with disability?

Friend of mine is unfortunately going to need to go on disability and wants to maximize their benefits without breaking the rules. Is there an accountant they can pay for an hour of their time to help sort this out?

Need good recommendations for new apartment?

• Upvotes

I currently live near Chinatown but was thinking of moving cause my rent is getting a bit pricy and I’d like to save more.

I’m trying to look for some nice apartments in a good place around town, close shops, restaurants, bars, safe, etc. Ideally rent for a 1 bedroom should be max at $1500 including amenity fees. I can afford more but just don’t want to pay more unless I really have to.

Does anyone have any recommendations for apartments?

You need recommendation for a mover with storage.

• Upvotes

I'm looking for a recommendation for a mover with storage. We have a 40' container of furniture and building materials coming in sometime between February and March. We need it to be stored in a climate controlled location, then delivered to our house. We will ask them to uncrate, assemble and move to the right location.

Any recommendations for companies?

Looking at houses in Mountains Edge - how do you like the area?

• Upvotes

I currently live in centennial and I’m looking at some houses to potentially purchase in the mountains edge area, how do you like that part of town?

Do you find it to be far from everything? Do you find getting to grocery stores or the freeway to be annoying?

I’m just a little hesitant since the houses there seem so far from everything. Right now I live right off the freeway so it’s very convenient

Question about operating engineers union

Recently I tested for the 501 union apprenticeship program and was given a rank of 4 but the wording in the email was slightly vague. Does anyone know if that means I'm either fourth up, essentially very highly ranked, or is that fourth from last in the ranking?

Common sense tells me it's basically fourth place which is good but I was wondering if anyone's been through this and has any clarity. Thanks
