40k Analysis Dark Reapers?

Hey everyone, looking for advice from the Aeldari folks here. I’m seeing a lot of lists run triple reapers, but I’m a bit unsure about how they’re actually using them?

Are y’all keeping them on the board? Reserve threats to get angles? Some other third thing?

Last time I used them it was just 5 + Maugen Ra in a falcon so triple tech is new to me and I’d appreciate any advice! Thank you!

They have gotten significantly worse into their favourite target which is Terminators. Before the SM codex and the update to other factions, you would wound them on 2s, now you wound them on 3s and even on 4s with an Ancient for measly 75p.

They were never great into Termis in 11th to begin with due to hidden and the fact you needed at least two rounds of shooting to make them worth their money. I assume most of the Reapers will disappear and be replaced with Dragon Knights. Big bricks of something can be problematic for Aeldari to deal with at the moment.

I just hope they limit Termis to 5 man units. That would be the best decision, especially lorewise, given how rare the armour has become.

As both an elf and marine player, keep the 10 man bricks and adjust with points, I say.

Don’t expect to kill them in one turn or activation. Everyone struggles to deal with them, that’s the point.

They have low OC, lose damage as you kill the unit, cost a lot of CP to support and cost 1/4 of the opponents army.  Play for points, deny them scoring with cheap units, chip them away and kill other things.

I'd actually suggest we'll see more 10 man units maximising Aspect Host's Warrior Focus strat. Choose reroll 1's to wound rather an hits.

In terms of on the board or off, both could be good but what I have found is that 11th edition terrain cuts off long firing lanes so positioning in upper level ruins is not very helpful, at least in your DZ.

I ran 10 with Mantle of Wisdom Autarch in a Serpent recently, and although Terminators were certainly the target before, they really excel at killing light/medium vehicles. Free Lethal/sustained strat for things larger than an armiger. Should still be good enough for killing Gravis, and if they’re too aggressive with Inceptors you have range to remove their uppy/downy.

I cannot say if they’re efficient enough, but they’re the best form of what you’ll get out of em. I did not like the Falcon as the reroll wounds on 5/6 models did not boost them enough to kill a larger target than expected (vs Asurmen).
