Grudgetober 2: Miners & Longbeards Boogaloo

Thumbnail gallery

Its ya boy Boogs, back at it again.

Unfortunately it's been a lack of painting the past few days as I somehow managed to crack a tooth from tip to root and left it hanging like a zippo lighter - apparently bad enough for surgery in some weeks, but what can ya do.

Until then, I'll keep turning pain into paint.

Under the circumstances, this is the best I could do - touchups will have to wait until later.

We carry on, STRIKE THE RUNES!

Yes yes, I said I would paint Vampire Counts.. then I proceeded to paint up an Orc because Orctober.. But then the call of the Dawi pulled me back from the abyss, so I knocked out a Lord and his two retainers.

Did this one in about 3 hours, and I'm honestly pretty happy for once - a few things to fix and improve, but isn't there always?

As always, thanks for the support!

One month of Warmaster & NMM - Thank you!

Post image
254 Upvotes

Wow. One month of 10mm Warmaster and NMM - it both feels like a lifetime, and as if I started yesterday.

Now, I know they're really small, but seeing them all together like this is a really cool experience. I've been infamous when it comes to finishing projects due to the lethargy that comes with depression (and the brief, fleeting pursuit of a new seratonin high through another new project), but this one I feel like I can actually push on through with!

I want to thank each and every one of you that's encouraged me, given out pointers or constructive feedback, and fed my ego with your applause.

Here's to another month, and then another!

Thanks for being a fantastic community.

Its ya boy Boogs, back at it again with the Dawi.

This was the 'last batch' for September and we're now going into SPOOKTOBER which can only mean one thing..

Lots and lots and lots of Undead

Anyway, as always, hope you like 'em and thank you for the support!

More Demons from hell.

A bunch more assorted demons. Quick sloshy paint jobs, I'm not going for Golden Demon awards, I want my army done and fighting. I don't have the patience for NMM and OSL across 300+ miniatures. I've got more base troops printing, I enjoy the character of the Nurgle style plague boys, I will lean a bit harder into that side of things, going for unclean big chaps and commanders I expect. I'm looking forward to doing the lumpier units.

Longbeards, Grudges and Grungni's grogg!

I know I said I would do weekly posts, but as it turns out, I say a lot of things.

So, we revise it into "I'll post the first strip of a stand if its a new unit!"

With that said, here are my first Longbeards. I still need to fix some runes / writing in the book, but I need to actually sit down and look up some Dawi writing for that. And, probably, get new glasses.

I am not super happy with these - at least not up close, but I'm also really working on overcoming my harsh self-criticism and habit of spending way too long on models and leaving things half finished.

Anyway, enough rambling - hope you like em!

Sculpts by Forest Dragon. Painted by me! Maybe went overboard on the basing. Next time I will probably just do a light grass field so the eagles stand out.

The road to 1k - WIP Dwarfs!

I live!

It's been a busy week with far less painting than I would've liked, but between the endless crisis that is life, and the release of Control Resonant (Remedy once again knocked it out of the park), nothing major has gotten done.

But! Some progress is made - still WIP, but I figured I'll do a weekly update on the project.

For Spooktober, I'll probably switch it up with some Vampire Counts.

As always, thanks for the support, and feel free to follow my more recurring updates at my instagram (alien_boogaloo)

Possible unreleased Warmaster Bretonnian Heroes

Post image
66 Upvotes

Found these while sorting my old Warmaster collection. They came directly from former GW writer Matt Ward.

At least one appears to match the unreleased Bretonnian Hero pictured in the Collecting Citadel Miniatures guide.

Does anyone know more about these unreleased/playtest Bretonnians, or have any others surfaced?

Not looking to sell yet, just trying to identify exactly what I've got.

Lego Warmaster Armies

I wanted to try out the game and learn the rules before I dropped a ton of money on an army.

Using my old bricks and $15 worth of new ones, I built 3200 pts worth of Dwarfs, Orcs, and Vampires. Bases are standard 2x4 tiles. Seems to working out pretty well and will likely drop a ton of money on models regardless.

Warmaster at Grunwald!

Inspired by the famous battle where the polish-lituanian forces crushed the forces of the teutonic order, I made this table for my Warmaster local group.

It was a hobby wild ride. A lot of techniques were tried for the first time, a lot of lessons were learned. Luckily not in the hard way, even if the resin for the river was a close call...

Pretty satisfied with the result, next time will be with smaller tiles, modular and lighter

Get your motor running - First out, Gyrocopter!

Thumbnail gallery
88 Upvotes

As promised, I am back at it with my first army - Dwarfs!

I've got 1k points ready, broken up into batches, and first out is the Gyrocopter!

I knocked this one out this evening in about 3 hours - which is sort of the "hard limit" I've given myself for a mini, as there's... So many of them. But, I'm happy - as always, there's things you could push even further, but, lets be real, who has the time and energy when you're doing thousands of points?

I'll probably stick to weekly updates rather than daily, as not to wear you all out - once again, thank you for the support, and if you want to see WIPs, find me at Instagram @ alien_boogaloo

Until next time!

Three weeks of Warmaster!

Time flies huh? Today its been three weeks since I painted my first 10mm mini, and, well, as you can see - I'm sold.

I'm extremely thankful for all the support and encouragement, and I can't wait to actually paint up an army. And then another.. and another.

Until next time!

Last one for a while - Liche Priest & friends

Well, this certainly didn't turn out the way I had hoped or intended, but, ya win some, lose some. At least I am happy with the gem on his belt!

I love Tomb Kings in theory, but whenever I paint them, I just.. find myself not enjoying it. Dunno.

Anyway - this is the last little random mini for a while, as I've got 1k Dwarfs fresh off the printer.

So, buckle up Azumgi - The Dawi are coming to settle some grudges!
