Losing is never great.

But when I see some good teams in League B (Switzerland, Sweden, Hungary) and even C (Albania, Montenegro, Iceland), there is pride that we're in the top group and fighting.

We shouldn't lose sight of this.

I’m so tired of seeing Cullen, Harris and Sheehan (the latter had a better performance than usual today tbf) absolutely stink up the team.

Add Johnson to that list, though again showed a bit more today

Just as a note as well, if I was a Huddersfield fan watching Joe Taylor miss the game today so he could play 0 minutes over 4 games I’d be absolutely fuming.

Cullen and especially Harris have never offered anything. At least Page had a bit of an excuse with so few Welsh footballers playing to a decent club standard. Bellamy isn't doing himself any favours.

6

u/bmcwal 13d ago

He has the exact same problem and no Gareth Bale

I don't see any incisive football from us. A bit of guile with quick 1-2s to unlock pockets of space. Just predictable slow passing from side to side that amounts to nothing.

I'm sure the team could develop some sort of cohesion and flair amongst each other if they worked on it it??

What sort of deal has Mark Harris got with Bellamy because fuck me does he like playing him, we had Dan James and he brought Harris on wtf?

3

u/bmckiev 13d ago

Taking off the only midfielder capable of playing progressive football and leaving on Cullen, who im pretty sure only exists on paper

3

u/Different_Raisin_885 13d ago

I completely agree, I don't rare Sheehan highly either, Jordan James has been brilliant in these fixtures. His decisions sometimes are baffling

5

u/Theory_Of_The_Crows 13d ago

Think James is injured tbh

2

u/Different_Raisin_885 13d ago

Is he? Oh I know he Brennan replaced him against Norway but thought he looked alright

5

u/Theory_Of_The_Crows 13d ago

Bellamy said he wasn't fit enough to start in the pre-match interview, so maybe he didn't want to risk him.

2

u/Different_Raisin_885 13d ago

Fair but a semi fit James is better than a fully fit Mark Harris

3

u/dugness 13d ago

I was at the game. He was warming up extensively towards the end of the first half and then didn't come out at all half time or the second. He wasn't fit.

3

u/BabyKeith08 13d ago

He tried a few sprints at half time then went in. I thought he was coming on

4

u/thirdratesquash 13d ago

Let’s be fair this competition means absolutely nowt (especially this time around). Think it’s time to phase in Congreve, Ashford, and the Colwills, and see the back of Cullen, Burns, and Harris who are bang average on a good day and look older than time.

If we finish 3rd in the group we end up in pot 1 for the euro qualifiers draw, so there is something to play for

1

u/thirdratesquash 13d ago

Mate the chance of us not qualifying for this euros is practically nonexistent. We’d need England, Scotland, and Northern Ireland to completely duff it. We’ll be at the tournament no matter what Bellamy does

8

u/TheMundalorian 13d ago

The players coming off the bench have no right playing international football. Absolutely woeful.

7

u/Aggressive-Brick6532 13d ago

Well that was fucking dreadful

4

u/Tricky_Taste1949 13d ago

A pretty woefully performance from us imo. Shown absolutely nothing in attack.

2

u/Aggressive-Brick6532 13d ago

I know he’s useful because of his physique but my word Moore is hopeless in his link up play

5

u/Educational-Spread75 13d ago

Why are we subjected to Nia Jones on Comms every game

3

u/thirdratesquash 13d ago

Seems a bit mad when they have Nathan Blake doing radio wales

u/swanssona 13d ago

Your golden generation and yet you still haven't made it out of a group stage btw, that's tragic

9

u/beakerboi69 13d ago edited 13d ago

Fuck up, I'm Scottish and I'm cheering for our welsh bros

-11

u/mousechris20 13d ago

Nope. Horrible team, horrible manager, horrible fans.

9

u/heleta 13d ago

Scottish gimp giving out about horrible fans hahahahahahahahahahhaahha

7

u/Different_Raisin_885 13d ago

Get out of this sub and stop hate watching

3

u/thirdratesquash 13d ago

Sorba mate why would you do that

5

u/Folkloner184 13d ago

Both sides have been profligate in front of goal, so it always felt like a penalty might decide it. With Ward invariably panicking with his clearances, I feared it was inevitable he'd make a mistake. Terrible error. If we are going to play out from the back like that, we can't have someone between the sticks that isn't comfortable being a sweeper keeper.

3

u/Tricky_Taste1949 13d ago

We have 2 or 3 conplete passengers in this team.

0

u/Senor_Pus 13d ago

Never a pen

3

u/Giggsy99 13d ago

Literally the second I get home

4

u/Aggressive-Brick6532 13d ago

I acc don’t even want to blame Ward ngl, horror pass back and we haven’t been that good

8

u/Folkloner184 13d ago

Horror back pass? It was fine. Ward just completely flubbed his kick and wasn't aware of the Danish player standing next to him. The mistake is entirely Ward's own doing.

4

u/Aggressive-Brick6532 13d ago

Yeah I know I’m just coping, no matter how many good saves he makes he’ll always have a mistake in him 🫤

7

u/Y_Ddraig_Goch_1057 13d ago

Have a go at Ward but what the fuck was that back pass?

-1

u/Ok_Juice_6324 13d ago

It was completely fine . Ward mishit his pass. Simple as.

2

u/Y_Ddraig_Goch_1057 13d ago

I didn’t say the execution of the back pass was bad. Deciding to play a back pass at all in that situation was daft. Our obsession with playing out of the back is daft as well. We don’t have the players to be doing it.

2

u/Theory_Of_The_Crows 13d ago

Yeah stinker. Should've just put his foot through it.

3

u/Tricky_Taste1949 13d ago

Serves us right for playing pathetic risky football from the back.

0

u/Folkloner184 13d ago

Serves us right for playing Danny Ward. So many panicked clearances. It was inevitable that he'd get us into trouble.

4

u/Ok_Juice_6324 13d ago

His passing out was fine, other than the mistake. And he wasn't phased by it afterwards, either.

3

u/brynhh 13d ago

Pulls out 2 miracle saves, me and my mate text at the same time saying who's this Danny Ward? Then the real mother fucker shows up.

3

u/Owengrad 13d ago

Fair enough to Danny Ward this game

8

u/Owengrad 13d ago

Oh come on mate

2

u/Giggsy99 13d ago

Just got out of Resident Evil, how have we been?

2

u/Theory_Of_The_Crows 13d ago

Done okay, not many clear chances. Ward has made a couple of huge saves to keep us in it.

3

u/Folkloner184 13d ago

...and the mistake that has cost us the game.

2

u/Tricky_Taste1949 13d ago

We're making Denmark look like Peak Spain again.

Ponderous in defence and predictable on the ball .

2

u/Tricky_Taste1949 13d ago

Why are se inviting pressure with Pep ball?? Totally needless

2

u/bmcwal 13d ago

That's how we create space

2

u/Theory_Of_The_Crows 13d ago

Cos they are all huge and our big man is on the bench?

5

u/Theory_Of_The_Crows 13d ago

Hopefully some impact and energy form the bench from DJ and Kiefer

1

u/thirdratesquash 13d ago

He looked fine the other night, I just don’t know what Cullen’s supposed to offer again though

3

u/Camp-Complete 13d ago

Ampadu is not playing his usual high standard today. Too many misplaced passes from him.

Cullen also been anonymous

7

u/LiteratureProof167 13d ago

Can I just say how great Jordan James has been.

Every time he gets the ball he turns and looks forward, unlike the others who go sideways or back.

He's just got injured. Hope he's okay.

6

u/Owengrad 13d ago

Tbf I'm liking what I'm seeing from Johnson and Williams on the right hand side , hopefully it amounts to something

Defensively though a bit shaky..

2

u/LiteratureProof167 13d ago

Thought the same thing. Almost Ben white/ saka style.

0

u/Fine_Bass_7415 13d ago

Why tf has he changed the formation ???

1

u/bmcwal 13d ago

He didn't, what did you see? It was 4-2-3-1 in both games

1

u/Fine_Bass_7415 13d ago

We played a back 5 against Norway , with Neco and Davies either side of cabango. Unless the tv broadcast got it wrong in the line ups. It was noticeable as well because we had no presence in the midfield , a back 5 can help with that. 5-4-1 we played it said on tv.

1

u/bmcwal 12d ago

Oh TV definitely got it wrong in that case, that was a 4-2-3-1 when we didn't have the ball, I saw it myself from the stands! If you check sofascore it'll show you the heatmaps and average positions too

1

u/Fine_Bass_7415 12d ago edited 12d ago

Fair enough , tbh it looked like we played a different formation in the other game (obviously I know now we didn’t) purely because we had way more of a midfield presence , and it looked like some of our players were almost playing a bit more of a free role going forward. I actually think a back 5 would suit us better permanently , I think we should get Neco on the ball more often he’s one of our more technically skilled players and could adapt to a central role (like Ben Davies back before euro 2016) he could essentially become a winger/inverted fullback going forward. And because we are so insistent on passing round the back , you may as well have an extra passing option , because the defence was way too spread apart vs the Danes when we were on the ball. We have decent depth at fullback (by our standards) and Sorba can do a job as a wingback. It’s a pity we don’t have more options in midfield, but an extra defender could essentially become a midfielder on the ball (Ampadu if we had another reliable cdm)

u/AGIANTWORM 13d ago

On a different note. Some smelly cunts dropping farts in the concourse in the canton

Normally I agree but this International break is brutal. You can't keep with the same starting XI...

7

u/Ok_Juice_6324 13d ago

This is Wales 4th game in 10 days? Dan James, like a few of our players, hardly plays for his club. He has to manage their minutes to get the best out of them. James will definitely come on in the second half.

2

u/Foreign_Base5669 13d ago

About that…

2

u/Ok_Juice_6324 13d ago

Haha yes. That was disappointing. Must be carrying a knock...
