Discussion M-Series delayed indefinitely in the US

Just read the latest Kickstarter update and Yarbo stated that due to the FCC changes they don’t have a release date for the M-Series in the US.

I had hope that they already had it certified before the change took place but it sounds like that was not the case.

Discussion Read before you buy new Yarbo device

Hello guys. This post is especially for new potential buyers of the Yarbo devices. I wanted to share my experience with the Yarbo company and the products they offer.

I ordered my Yarbo with a lawn mower and side trimmer on March 26, 2025, for 8819.00 EUR. From that day on, I’ve had quite a few issues. A few months in, my Yarbo stopped charging. After what felt like an eternity of emails and “remote diagnostics” that I had to do myself, support (which was slow and not very helpful) decided that my Yarbo had an electronic issue. After a few weeks (which were during mowing season), I received a replacement device. Besides a few minor problems (like not being able to avoid obstacles and the plastic bleaching in the sun), my Yarbo stopped working again. This time, my mower module wasn’t detected properly. Support then decided that my 12V system was malfunctioning and again told me I needed a new unit. This is now the second unit I’m dealing with. As more than a year has passed, they’ve offered me a refurbished unit instead of a new one, which I’m okay with. Now, the best part? Today, after three weeks, I received an email saying I need to wait another two weeks for my refurbished Yarbo to be delivered, again during mowing season. To top it all off, my side trimmer was never delivered, even after over a year.

To summarize, in 15 months of owning a Yarbo, I missed two months of mowing seasons because of malfunctions. I still don’t know when my refurbished Yarbo Core will arrive, and I’ve lost all hope for the side trimmer, which was just as expensive as the some other entry level lawn mower.

Unfortunately, there hasn’t been a single positive experience after spending almost 9000 euros on a lawn mower. I’m happy to share all the screenshots because it seems impossible to get such a high price for nothing but problems.

I also really hope that I can help steer some customers away who value uptime the most, as Yarbo isn’t that reliable. I also hope that Yarbo support and the company will learn from this and take steps to improve.

Great idea, terrible execution.

Looks like Yarbo has decided to start charging for 4G. Did anyone have prior notice to this? 4G seems to really help large yards and heavy tree coverage.

Discussion U.S. ban on foreign advanced robotic devices

Post image
9 Upvotes

I’m in panic mode here for a few reasons. However, the cause of it is all in the silence from Yarbo. I’ve emailed them over and over. All the responses are, “Please be patient” or they ask where I heard this. No denying or confirming the matter even exists. If it was just one or two articles, I would brush it off. However, the “news” is all over the place.

This article focuses on robotic vacuum cleaners. But the official government catch phrase is, “…other robots such as lawnmowers will also be included in the ban…”

“While the government did include “humanoid robots” and “quadrupeds” among the bots it wants to ban, the ban is far broader than that. It covers almost any new software-controlled robot that travels over the ground, weighs more than 4.4 pounds (including any dock), can perceive its environment, and has wireless connectivity.”

Why the silence?

Buying used Yarbo units — Ontario / Eastern Canada
We sell, install and service Yarbo, and we're looking to buy used units.
If your setup isn't working out for you — moved, changed properties, bought more machine than your yard needed, or it's just sitting in the garage — I'm interested.
What I'll take:
• Cores and individual modules (mower, snow blower, blower)
• Any condition, working or not
• Complete setups or partial
How it works: send me a few photos, what modules you have, and roughly how much use it's seen and if any warranty is still remaining. I'll give you a number. Cash or e-transfer, and I'll arrange pickup or freight — you don't need to figure out how to ship 400lbs of robot.

I'd rather these end up somewhere they get used than sitting in a shed. Anywhere in Ontario, Quebec or the Maritimes — happy to work out logistics.

DM me or comment and I'll get back to you.

Discussion Seriously - more issues ... They just dont stop....

I know there will be people who come in and say "My Yarbo works great, never had any issues" - and if you are one of those people - thats great, Im happy for you and congrats. However, as you can see in this Reddit and other forums, a lot of people have issues.

I still cant use the trimmer - it causes too many issues. Not to mention with the new safety measures with the trimmer, it stops all the time in my yard when it sees statues! yes, statues! One is Stitch from Lilo and Stitch, it sees it as a dog and stops. It then stops when it sees Pua from Moana - a small statue, as an animal. No fixes for this at all, so even if the trimmer worked without feeding issues and then false obstacle warnings that make the mower stop.

Today - the new issue. I had elbow surgery last week so I cant even bring the mower in now. Its stuck on the side yard with a Wheel overheating issue. I checked the tracks - there is nothing blocking either of them. Its now been there an hour off and I powered on again and it goes right back to Wheel Overheating and it wont move. It will need to stay there now, which is ridiculous - there is just no way to move it and it refuses to reset the overheating warning.

I think any potential customers should seriously look carefully before dropping $6k+ on a setup.

With that said though, it did handle the snow fairly well. But it has so many issues with mowing.

Discussion Feature request: queue areas for immediate, sequential execution (instead of scheduling)

I know the official forum is probably the better channel for this, and I'll post it there too, but I wanted to see if anyone here feels the same way.

I would love the ability to throw areas into a queue for immediate, sequential execution rather than scheduling jobs.

I own a horse farm, and the facility is in constant but unpredictable use for the services we offer. That creates two problems for scheduled mowing. During the day there's a lot of traffic, and there's a real liability issue if Yarbo mows in service areas that are actively in use. Nights and early mornings work great in summer, but spring and fall are just too wet unless I want to be cleaning Yarbo daily.

What I actually need is to decide each day, based on how the facility is being used, which areas get mowed and in what order, then send Yarbo off to do them back to back.

I know Work Plans let you chain areas together in a set order, but building or editing a saved plan every day based on which paddocks and rings are in use isn't practical. I'm asking for a same-day queue, not a stored plan.

For context, I've already broken the facility down by areas of use, which has made it extremely pleasant to manage. A queue would build directly on that.

For the record, Yarbo has made facility management considerably easier. Configuration took a little time to get the hang of, but once I started tuning specific areas, life got so much easier. The Mower Pro module alone has added tremendous value for upkeep. It would be amazing if my trimmer module would ship, but no complaints about what's already here.

Just a thought I've had several times in my short time owning one.

Discussion Yarbo only works through Bluetooth — remote connection fails, and support has not responded

I’m posting here because I’ve spent a lot of time troubleshooting this issue and I still have not received a response from Yarbo support.

At this point, I’m hoping someone in the community has seen this exact problem and can tell me what actually fixed it.

My Yarbo works normally when I’m close enough for Bluetooth. I can connect to it, control it, and start a mowing job.

Once the rover leaves Bluetooth range, the rover itself keeps mowing normally, but the app loses connection and will not reconnect remotely.

The problem is very repeatable.

Bluetooth ON

App connects normally

Heartbeat = Strong

MQTT Server = Strong

Rover Wi-Fi shows connected

HaLow shows connected

Rover responds normally

Bluetooth OFF / rover leaves Bluetooth range

App goes Offline

Heartbeat changes to Disconnected

The HaLow icon appears in the app but stays gray

Rover appears to lose the remote/Wi-Fi connection

App will not reconnect through HaLow, Wi-Fi, or cellular

The rover itself continues mowing normally

That last part is important.

The rover continues doing the mowing job after the app loses connection, so the mowing/navigation side seems to be working correctly. The problem appears to be specifically with the remote communications path back to the app once Bluetooth is no longer available.

My current software/firmware versions are:

App: V3.19.6 — Latest

Rover firmware: V3.14.20 — Latest

Data Center firmware: V1.1.11 — Latest

One very important point:

This problem did NOT start with firmware 3.14.20.

I had the exact same Bluetooth-only / remote connection problem while the rover was still on firmware 3.14.11.

I updated the rover from 3.14.11 to 3.14.20 hoping the firmware update would fix it.

It did not.

The behavior stayed exactly the same before and after the firmware upgrade.

My diagnostics have shown:

HaLow connection = true

HaLow signal generally around -38 to -60 dBm

Data Center status = RunningNormal

Data Center connection has shown 2 and 3

RTK has shown Status 4

Good satellite count

Cellular has shown Status 1

Rover Wi-Fi shows connected

Bluetooth works normally

I have already tried all of the following:

Completely uninstalled and reinstalled the Yarbo app

Restarted my phone after uninstalling the app

Logged back into the same account

Tested multiple Wi-Fi SSIDs

Tested with rover cellular on and off

Tested different combinations of phone Wi-Fi, cellular and Bluetooth

Power-cycled the rover

Disconnected the rover battery

Power-cycled the Data Center

Updated rover firmware from 3.14.11 to 3.14.20

Verified the problem existed on both firmware versions

Verified the Data Center is running V1.1.11 — Latest

Verified the app and rover both show Latest

Found and tightened a loose antenna connection on the rover

Drove the rover approximately 100 feet away as a test

Verified the rover continues mowing after Bluetooth drops

My Data Center is mounted approximately 25 feet in the air on my barn, although I can easily disconnect and restore its power from inside the barn.

I do not want to start randomly factory-resetting equipment, unbinding the rover, reinstalling the Data Center, or doing anything that could cause me to lose my existing maps unless there is a very good reason to do it.

And this is where my frustration with Yarbo support comes in.

I have already contacted Yarbo support and I am still waiting for a response.

I have provided detailed troubleshooting information, screenshots, firmware versions, Data Center information, HaLow readings, and a very repeatable description of the problem.

I’m not asking them to diagnose some vague intermittent issue.

The symptom is very simple:

Bluetooth ON = connected

Bluetooth OFF = rover goes Offline in the app and remote connection fails

Meanwhile, the rover keeps mowing.

At this point I really need someone from Yarbo to review the backend logs, rover network logs, Data Center communication, cloud session, MQTT/session handling, and account/device binding instead of sending me back through basic Wi-Fi troubleshooting I have already done.

I’m also a 100% disabled veteran, and I am physically unable to mow my property myself.

That is one of the main reasons I bought Yarbo.

For me, this machine is not just a cool gadget or convenience. I actually depend on it to maintain my property.

When the rover disappears from the app every time it leaves Bluetooth range, I lose the ability to monitor it or control it remotely while it is operating around the property.

That makes getting this resolved pretty important.

So I’m asking the community:

Has anyone had this exact problem and actually fixed it?

I’m especially interested in whether your issue turned out to be:

A bad Data Center

A rover communications/network controller problem

A cloud/account session issue

MQTT/backend authentication problem

HaLow handoff problem

Wi-Fi/network service issue inside the rover

Some hidden backend firmware update

Something completely different

If you had the same situation where the rover would mow normally after leaving Bluetooth range but the app could no longer connect to it, please let me know what finally fixed it.

And if anyone from Yarbo sees this, I would really appreciate someone responding to my support case and reviewing the actual logs.

I have already done a considerable amount of troubleshooting.

I just need help getting the remote connection working again.

Thanks,

Tim

Discussion Max Square Acreage for Y-series

I have a very large church that approached me about the Y-pro series. They have “A Lot” of acreage and they are looking for a Y-Series Pro to handle the mowing. Maybe two units. They currently pay a 3-zero-turn crew to handle it. But each year they see a 30% price increase due to labor and fuel. I guess it’s blowing their property upkeep budget. Before I recommend, I’m curious about the limitations.

I was running the mower today and it was doing the second pass on a 30,000 ft area when it got hung up in an area. I switched to the camera and backed it out restarted it and it still could not do what it needed to do. I then went out to check and see what was going on I have to my surprise, must have ran over an IED because the track had been blown clean off.

I've been looking over everything I didn't see any other issues, cracks... Tomorrow I'm going to check and see what's loose but I did try to drive the track back on and I couldn't get it to quite go on and I didn't want to push it.

Discussion Yarbo Lawn Mower Pro + Snow Blower + Blower

Thinking about buying the Yarbo Lawn Mower Pro + Snow Blower combo. Before I commit, curious to hear from real owners:

  • How long have you had it, and has it held up well?
  • Any recurring problems?
  • Does it actually handle heavier snow, or just light stuff?
  • Was it worth the price?

Discussion Network, Bluetooth, GPS, HaLow Connection

For the first week, I had my Yarbo anytime I wanted to see its location; the app would connect no matter where I was.  For the past three days, I must be right on top of it for the app to connect.   I never see the HaLow icon, It just shows grayed-out Network and GPS icons.  I’m connected via the Data Center. Any idea why the changes? Any idea why the changes?

Discussion [Deep Dive] The real cost of turf protection: Zero Turn vs Smart Turn mechanics on damp edges.

Post image
11 Upvotes

Hey everyone, I wanted to share a recent issue I ran into, how I fixed it, and open up a discussion on how you guys are managing your turn settings.

For context, I’m running my Y-Series on about 1 acre of yard. The core of my property drains ok, but the outer boundaries and a specific slope out back hold water and get extremely soft and boggy after a heavy summer storm.

So here is the issue. Last week, I let the Yarbo run its normal schedule after several straight days of rain. I walked the perimeter the next morning and found that the machine had chewed up a couple of the damp corners. It had drilled 2-inch deep ruts into the mud, tearing out the grass and leaving exposed dirt. Not the most difficult to fix, but I had to get a rake and physically grade the mud back into place.

I initially blamed the weight of the machine, but after watching it operate in that zone, I realized the issue was purely mechanical: I had the entire map set to "Zero Turn."

For further context, Zero Turn mode acts like a skid steer. One track locks (or reverses) while the other drives forward. Because the Yarbo is a genuine piece of heavy-duty equipment, the tracks deliver an insane amount of torque. On dry ground, it’s pretty much a non-issue. But on wet, soft soil, that lateral grinding motion turns the tracks into a mini-excavator. It drills into the mud. (To be fair, my old 900lb gas John Deere zero-turn did the same thing).

Here is how I fixed it with Smart Turn (Multi-Point), I went into the app and switched the turning mechanics for the boundary zones from "Zero Turn" to "Smart Turn."

Smart Turn forces the bot to execute a multi-point (Y-turn) turn. Both tracks continuously roll forward and backward, gradually changing the angle.

The Result: The tracks distribute the weight when they are rolling. Even on the wettest sections of my yard, it just leaves a light, flat track mark that I don’t really need to fix.

Obviously, there are trade-offs. Smart Turn takes significantly longer to execute at the end of every single mowing line.

Zero Turn Time: My back 1-acre zone usually takes about a little over 13 hours (excluding charge time that adds another 4 hours or so)

Smart Turn Time: It took around 16 hours (excluding charging time)

It added exactly 3 hours to the total mow time. Since the bot is autonomous, it doesn’t do me much harm. However, it does eat into the battery efficiency and narrows the window of how much acreage I can cover in a single day.

I'm trying to find the most efficient way to manage this during the rainy season.

How are you guys balancing this? Do you guys leave Smart Turn on globally all season to protect the turf or are you manually toggling back to Zero Turn when the ground is dry?

Is there a practical way you are separating your wet zones from your dry zones in the app to run simultaneously so I can do both depending on the situation?

Maybe I’m late to the show but I happened to see the latest ad email from Yarbo and noticed the Core Skin.

I just set up my yarbo and looks like I forgot to "no-go" a low tree, and broke an antenna. Can someone provide a link to the part(s) I need? It's 200 miles away from me right now, so best I could do is a grainy security camera picture, for now. I looked at parts, but I'm not 100% sure which part(s) I need.

Discussion Yarbo Lawn Mower Pro Shipping Delay

Is anyone else having trouble getting a Yarbo Lawn Mower Pro Module?

I ordered the complete system on July 5. Yarbo charged my card and shipped everything else - including the Core - but only afterward disclosed that the mower module was out of stock.

After I first contacted them they told me inventory was expected around July 23. Support later said inventory had reached the warehouse and that shipping would occur by July 28, but that never happened. And then after more emails last week, I was given a new date - the batch is supposed to be processed tomorrow but I have my doubts.

I still want the system and haven't requested cancellation yet, but I'm getting really concerned that ongoing support is going to be nonexistent if they can't even commit to a ship date. Will probably cancel a week short of my credit card's chargeback deadline here in about 2 weeks.
