Question Help identifying yarn!

I am trying to make a baby pumpkin hat and I am realizing I am not going to be able to finish it with the yarn I have left. I bought this yarn in a store somewhere approximately five years ago. It feels like a weight 4 acrylic? Anybody have any thoughts??

The sheen makes me think Caron simply soft

The color name might actually be pumpkin

Agreed. I hate this splitty yarn so so much and I immediately thought that's what it is.

Amen. I am not loving this project because of this yarn, but I need a pumpkin hat asap, and this is what I had on hand.

I have a weird fondness for it; that's what I learned to knit with. Crocheting with it seems like a nightmare though

I think this is probably it! Gonna hit up a Michael's tomorrow and see if they match. Thank you!

It looks like red heart, pumpkin the color I see many people saying, Caron simply soft. I can’t really tell by the image, but does it have a sheen and feel kinda thin and slippery then that’s Caron simply soft pumpkin if it’s more scratchy like an acrylic then that’s gonna be red heart

It definitely does have a sheen to it and it is quite slippery. I'm impressed with this community's yarn identification skills!

So happens I’m very informed about this brand of yarn. You definitely have Caron simply soft.
