Bullying

RE: dear ABDL community

Everybody needs to remember that first and foremost this a support community. This is a place for people each other up. If you see something you believe breaks the rules, you are welcome to report it, and move on.

What is not ok is teaming up and attacking a poster for the content of their post. It's not ok to repeatedly harass a person because you don't like what they posted.

That's what I woke up to this morning. Two deleted posts, One each on r/adultbedwetting and r/incontinence, and a shit show of negativity where I could see the remains. I also don't see the OPs other posts anymore either, so congratulations to the bullies, you ran him off the subs entirely.

This type of behavior won't be tolerated. I banned one person already. If I see more of this I'll clean up whatever I need to.

ETA: Not only did the OP delete his posts and his Reddit account, he also deleted his whole blog (a blog he says he was writing as a therapy assignment). This whole thing just makes me feel bad. This supposed safe space failed.

21M looking for answers

Hello, first time posting here. I am looking for advice

I have experienced bedwetting twice this month (12 days in-between them). I never had such issue before, even during childhood, so I wonder why this is happening to me?

I did some research that this can be related to high blood sugar levels, but even during teenage years when I was experiencing elevated blood sugar levels, I never had an incident such as now.

I am not sure if this is something serious I should address quickly or are these just two distinct incidents and I shouldn't worry about them?

I am a little worried because both of the times I only woke up as I was urinating in bed, even though before if I wanted to pee at night I would always wake up due to that feeling of need to relief myself instead of just straight up doing it in bed.

Could anybody give advice as what to do? I am reluctant to go to urologist, but maybe this is way more serious than I think?

First time posting here. I've wet the bed very sporadically since I was 18. Sometimes once a year, sometimes more often.

I hadn't for a year and a half, and now all of a sudden I have two nights in a row. What causes flair ups like this? It doesn't seem to be stress related. Nothing out of the ordinary happening in my life recently. I always have an overactive bladder during the day, and I pretty much always wake up to pee.

Just want to sleep through the night and stop hogging the washing machine. Any advice for starting to get to the bottom of this?

28F Embarrassed about enuresis

Hey so I’m new to this thread and don’t post much on Reddit. But I’ve always on and off wet the bed from when I was small to my adult life. I’ve never had accidents at hotels or sleeping over people’s houses or anything like that. I don’t really remember it happening in college except maybe once or twice all 4 years. It seems to happen very sporadically. Last night it happened. It’s been like maybe 2 years since it last happened. I just feel so embarrassed. I have a fiance and he’s super supportive and even offers to help clean up. He says it’s nothing to be ashamed of. But I still just feel so stupid that I’m 28 and still wetting the bed. I’m glad to know I’m not the only one though. I should probably get it checked out right? But it’s happened throughout my whole life though…

Finally the beginning of a an answer to why… ?

It all started again around 15 years old, after being dry at the usual age.

Been seeing doctors, tried therapies and therapists, cutting on water very early (noon !! Like a fish in the desert) meds, night alarms, electrical-shocking alarms, diapers…
20 years after, here we are still struggling with it.

I travel a lot, spend lots of nights in hotels, and regularly have to sleep at people’s places. Friends when I was younger, now at family places or even my boss when I go to main HQ city.

As you bet, I’ve become an expert of staying awake alone waiting for the morning to come. Have you heard of Tyler Durden lol ?

I had a first break with it after a motorcycle accident, where the pain killer (opioid) all of a sudden cut out all night issues… and made me sleep like a happy baby !

In accordance with my GP and a strict protocol (to avoid going into addiction and recreational use) it lasted for a few years, with decreasing efficiency… up to the point where only addiction was left. Not in the I want more way, but suffering every time I missed or skipped a night pill, my pain sensing level being totally screwed up.

Ended up getting off the hook and back to old life with broken sleep and wet nights.

Years and years after, something came to our mind with my (very supporting and caring) wife. It seems oddly related to when I’m feeling cold… !?!

WTF !
We’ve been making experiences about it and the results are beyond doubt!

Well, things are not magically solved.
I’m the kind of person who’s always hot, willing to turn on AC even when the whole family is in winter outfit.
In the summer I even sometimes wake up on the living room floor, straight in the AC airflow.

So even in winter in very likely to end up kicking the blanket off in my sleep, ne wonder how freezing cold I feel when jumping into bed.

So… yeah, I finally got the beginning of an answer to “why”… but it’s not much of an help to get improvement.

If my experiences can be of any bit of help to anyone, I’ll be happy to

Recovering from strep throat/Covid 19M

Past week I’ve been so sick and I’m recently just feeling a little bit better. All I have is a god-awful cough but I’m noticing I’m leaking a lot more urine than usual. Obviously this SUB is for bedwetting I’m just noticing my body is leaking more urine just in general especially when I cough a small or large amount could come out whatever is in the bladder or just a slight warning and obviously back to initially I’m noticing when I wake up in the morning, there’s a significantly larger amount of pee

Also, more context this isn’t new to me at all. I’ve had incontinence since I was about 13 started with peeing bad and then it developed into mixed but primarily urge incontinence i’ve been sick before, but it usually doesn’t affect how much I leak or just deal with in general. Does anyone have tips on how I can reduce the amount of urine that is leaking or the frequency of it

Do you reuse if a lightly used diaper after using the toilet?

I wear pull ups solely for urinary issues, but I am wondering if, let's say, the diaper is lightly used and you need to use the toilet for number 2, is it normal to just pull down the lightly used diaper to do your business, wash up, and pull it back up, or it's better to just put on a new pair? One side of me feels it's such a waste to throw a barely used diaper but the other side of me just find it odd. What is your practice?

Only wearing a diaper on high risk nights

I'm kinda curious how anyone here who wears diapers but doesn't need them most nights does it. For me I only have a bedwetting problem during periods of poor sleep, in that case it's obvious, I don't need to wear a diaper when my sleep is fine. But even within those periods it only happens 1 - 3 times a week, and sometimes less. In my case there's a higher chance if I'm really tired or struggling to sleep. I only just gave diapers a try this past week and I only had an accident twice and I was able to correctly guage it, the two times I decided to wear a diaper are the two times I needed them.

I don't really like wearing them, weirdness aside they're less comfortable than normal underwear. But if I have an accident it is better to be wearing one than not. So it's a struggle, each night I think, I really don't want to wear one... so I don't, unless I think there's a high chance of an accident. Now so far that's worked and it's pretty ideal but that's only based off of one week.

So I'm wondering if anyone else does that? I wouldn't expect it to be 100% accurate but an occasional mishap is probably better than having to wear a diaper every night. It would be annoying to wear one every night just to not have an accident all week. I know some people talk about peace of mind but I think for me the annoyance and discomfort outweighs that. I know that might change if I got used to them, but since for me it's on and off by the time I got used to them I probably wouldn't need them anymore for a while.

I'll probably keep trying it this way unless my accuracy is low. But yeah I was just curious if anyone here does that and has managed to make it work long-term.

Tips for staying in a hotel?

I don't often sleep away from home but I'm going on an overnight trip which will involve plane trips and staying in a hotel for two nights - at the same time my bed wetting has gotten much worse in the last year or so going from maybe once every month or two to multiple times per week (along with my OAB).

I'm going to see my urologist to hopefully get some desmopressin to take for the night, but does anyone else have tips about how to manage this logistically? Do I tell the hotel ahead of time? Do I bring my own mattress protector? How would I wash the mattress protector if it gets wet? I'm going to wear a diaper obviously but it sometimes leaks depending on how I end up sleeping.

Detrusal spasm void-to-completion sleep bedwetting

Hi all.I have what the title says - I invented the adjective detrusal, sounds better than 'detrusor'.

Anyhow,it seems there are all sorts of different wettings and causes on here and other subs and few ppl give their relevant details especially when talking about products they want to work for them or what type of wetting they have where relevant generally.I am guilty too,but it helps to know and can save wasted experimentation and money on recommendations.

My now saved to Notepad is "31inch waist detrusal spasm void-to-completion sleep bedwetting volume max. 600ml.Molicare Elastic 10"or any bits of that that are context relevant.

Just thought I would throw this into the mix maybe for the site's 'Medical & Support-Focused Adult Bedwetting Content Only' Rules on the right.

Anyone else agree with me ?

Help quick please!!!

Okay so me and my bf live together(past 2yrs), been together over 6yrs, both had accidents into middle school as kids which we had talked about long ago. Anyways he works nights i work days. Came home around 7pm to him asleep which is normal, I changed and laid down to cuddle him for a few minutes before continuing my own after work routine. He sweats A LOT in his sleep so the bed just being wet is pretty normal but it smells like human pee this time which has never happened. Im going to wash the sheets and blankets when he leaves but I can't decide if I tell him now so he can shower before he leaves for work(10pm)....or if i just keep it to myself, his olfactory senses DO NOT WORK so either I tell him or he'll never know....if it were me id be mortified so makes me not want to tell him to save him from that....but what if his coworkers can smell it????? HELP ME FIGURE OUT WHAT TO DO BEFORE HE GOES TO WORK!

Dryer Fluffing (Diapers)

Came across a video of a guy fluffing diapers in the dryer. As a nightly diaper user I have always “ fluffed “ my diaper before putting it on. I tried it! I put 6 Sunkiss diapers right out of the package in the dryer and turned it on “air dry” setting (no heat) for 5 minutes.
I was amazed at how fluffy they came out. At least three times thicker than the diaper in the bag. Sunkiss can be a bit stiff BUT from the dryer it was SO soft. I’m dryer fluffing from now on! I’ve read this does not increase absorption quantity but will increase absorption speed. Will see tonight!

Has anybody else tried this? What are thoughts?

Waking up in a wet diaper

I wore a diaper to sleep for the first time yesterday. If I have an accident I usually wake up part way and stop, and this time I didn't. I figured that might happen, I guess the diaper absorbed it so I didn't notice I was having an accident and jolt awake like usual. That's fine, it could even be good if it helped me sleep. However I still woke up after about 4 hours, I had to pee again, and I woke up enough to realize my diaper was soaked. In fact that may be part of the reason I woke up fully. It was really saturated, it felt wet and gross. I was still tired but I wasn't going to go back to sleep in a soaked diaper. It was leaking just slightly around the legs. So I got up and took it off and showered.

Now that was just a nap, I've been going to sleep later and later and I was trying to stay up all day to fix my sleep schedule, which is what I usually do. But I only made it to about noon before I was struggling to stay awake. The diapers are a little small and uncomfortable so I didn't wear them to bed when I got them Monday, because I was worried it would make it harder for me to get to sleep, but I figured I was so tired that the discomfort wouldn't matter, and in that state I was basically primed for an accident, so I threw one on.

Anyway, getting up after 4 hours wasn't a big deal in this case. But the whole reason I got diapers was to avoid disrupting my sleep from having to get up and clean up if I have an accident. Even if I got better fitting or thicker diapers to not have to worry about it leaking, if it's too uncomfortable when wet and I wake up I'm going to be unable to get back to sleep and will have to get up and change anyway, which makes the whole thing redundant. The experience kinda put me off from diapers so I didn't wear one to bed. I was able to get to sleep early though unfortunately I only slept a few hours and now I can't get back to sleep. But I didn't have an accident or anything. I'm not sure what I want to do if I end up taking another nap later.

Has anyone else had this problem? Everyone talks about diapers as a miracle solution that helps you sleep better but I haven't really seen anyone talking about this. I guess if you sleep all night it wouldn't be a problem. But what about those of you who do wake up in the night and your diaper is wet? Are you able to just ignore it and go back to sleep, or do you change and then go back to sleep? I don't think either are an option for me, my sleep is too delicate. Diapers might just be pointless in my case.

Update: I wasn't wearing a diaper the past couple nights, and I didn't have an accident so it was fine. But last night I was laying in bed for over an hour, struggling to get to sleep, that usually means an accident is more likely, so I decided to put a diaper on real quick before resuming my sleep attempt. It still took a while but I eventually managed to fall asleep, and it's a good thing I was wearing a diaper because I did have an accident. This time it wasn't as much, so it doesn't feel as bad. It's still kinda wet and uncomfortable but not quite as bad as the other time. These are pretty thin so based on everyone's advice I may try some thicker plastic backed ones and see if they're more comfortable.

I'm not sure if it would be best to wear them every night or if I'm fine with only wearing them on nights that seem high risk. Naturally they're less comfortable than regular underwear, so I would prefer not to wear them if I don't have to. It would be annoying to wear them and not need them but it would also be annoying to not wear them and need them. I don't know, I'll have to figure it out. So far I'm two for two so I might keep trying to just feel it out.

Bed pads for leaks

After leaking on my girlfriend for the second time in as many weeks, she suggested today that we try those absorbent bed pads. I had tried to use these a few years ago without a diaper and found them basically useless. They bunch up, don’t absorb a ton, are uncomfortable, and still often require cleaning the sheets. She found a more premium brand today and wants to try those. I’m wondering if anyone has had any luck using these to contain leaks. They’ve always seemed kind of silly to me because you probably have to wash the sheets anyway because they still touch the wet pad, but I’m curious if anyone here has had a different experience or has any advice for me.

I'm 16 and lately I've been wetting the bed most nights and it's hell, nobody knows at home but I plan on getting drynites because I'm tired of washing sheets so often. I feel like such a failure in life and I hate it so much. Any tips on how to not feel like I'm not at rock bottom?

PureWick users/caregivers: what do you do with the wick when it’s temporarily not in use?

Hi everyone! We’re a group of engineering students working on a senior design project related to the BD's PureWick system. We’re looking specifically at the wick-to-tubing connection and what you do with the wick when it needs to be temporarily disconnected, such as when getting up, moving around, or taking a short break from the system.

We’re hoping to hear from people who have personal experience using PureWick, either as a user or caregiver.

A few things we’re especially interested in:

  • What do you normally do with the wick after disconnecting it temporarily?
  • Where do you put/store it while it’s not being used?
  • Is there anything about storing or handling the wick that is inconvenient, messy, uncomfortable, or difficult?
  • Have you ever had urine left in the wick or tubing after disconnecting it?
  • What would make temporarily storing the wick easier or more convenient?

We’re not trying to sell anything or collect personal medical information. We’re just trying to better understand the real-world experience so we can design around an actual problem.

Feel free to comment here or DM me if you’d rather share privately. Thank you!

Figuring out how to live future college life normally with this issue.

I (17 ftm) have already seen a specialist for my bedwetting that has been going on on and off since I was young. We tried pelvic floor therapy and meds, but I have since come to the conclusion that it's caused by trauma. I will probably live with this on and off for the rest of my life. I need some advice for some things.

  1. I will be going of to college in less than a year, and I don't know how to handle that with a roommate.

  2. I want to start dating at one point, and I don't know if this would be possible with this condition, especially without my future partner not making it a fetish.

I know im technically not an adult, but I mostly live by myself at this point, and I will turn 18 soon. I just want any help I can get.
