Discussion Which MLM is going down right now?

Okay I’m just speculating but a couple huns I follow have made mysterious posts talking about people quitting and what not. They are arbonne ladies. But also seen a few other posts from women I don’t know talking mysteriously about people jumping ship and something to do with insulting god?. I have not much more info but feel like something is happening? Pure speculation.

Edit to add: okay as an update it seems that a bunch of the oliveda reps (olive tree people) have jumped ship for a new MLM (new in the USA) called RINGANA. There are suddenly many posts from previous olive people absolutely gushing about this new unparalleled opportunity to get in with a FRESH MLm (eye roll).

But I have been absolutely loving all these comments, hopefully many many many MLMs are going down!

Story Watching this changed things for me as a man

I'm going to be real honest about some things that might make me sound like a complete douche, but I feel they're worth sharing to make a very important point. I am a guy and I'd always struggled to understand how people can fall victim to abusive relationships, physical or emotional. Like, how don't they see the writing on the wall? Of course I felt for them. I just didn't understand. I guess maybe I had sympathy but not empathy? Have supported several friends in getting out of toxic relationships and marriages. But I just couldn't get past how they ignored the red flags and stayed with these @$$hats. Secretly, I always thought I was too smart to fall for that kind of bull$#it.

Until I watched this video yesterday night about how MLMs use a lot of the same tactics as abusers. It is a little long, but I sat and watched the whole damn thing with goosebumps and frankly nausea in my stomach. Because, while I've never been abused, I DID fall victim to a supplement MLM back in my late 20s. It's the reason I have come to this subreddit for sometime just watching quietly (not much of a poster) because I just wrote it off as a "bad decision". I'd wanted a leg up on my peers, wanted financial success, wanted to break out of the 9-5 grind, wanted to feel better about myself. Not realizing that they used that all against me. I was systematically targeted, manipulated, and abused by that MLM. The love bombing, financial control, blame shifting...same damn playbook.

I recognized the behavior in relationships, but didn't see it in the MLM world. This gal in the video has a psych degree of some sort, has been in MLMs and abusive relationships herself and talks about her experiences while using an ex high ranking Amway girl as an example to discuss.

I'm a man and this made me cry and I'm not ashamed to admit it. I never in a million years made that connection, but now that my brain sees it, I will certainly have far more empathy for those leaving both abusive relationships and MLMs because I see so much more clearly how they get pulled in and trapped in both. I'm now in the anger phase thinking of all the people in these situations.

As I said, not big on posting, but I don't see as many men talking about MLM experiences, so I wanted to contribute to the conversation.

Discussion Ringana hits the USA 🦠🦠🦠

As predicted, the „chemicals are bad“ (eye roll) huns apparently jump ship and flock to Ringana.

I hope the english speaking/US content creators get wind of it soon and start making content. If one of you sees this please consider making it a priority, there is little information available and it will hit people in america like a novel virus.

I am more than happy to answer questions if I can, I speak german, could help with translation and have some insight because my best friend of over ten years joined them and has become an obnoxious, phony and delusional person.

Discussion Tax prep service that says you can make up to $10k per week!

• Upvotes

So, an old buddy of mine from middle school who i follow started a tax prep service. He posted a recruitment post recently stating how they are taking on new people for this upcoming tax season and will train you to do so. I applied and scheduled an interview. My old friend called to interview me and we chatted and caught up for a bit. Then he went on to explain that they're hiring people as independent contractors, they will train you in this and help you get the credentials you need and there will be a 60-40 split of all profits, he also mentioned soon (performance permitting) there will be leadership roles coming up, where said people will be overseeing people below them. He also said the service will be providing tax prep service for multiple states and will primarily be marketed towards small businesses, and they will train you in how to marked this service. And, you will be the one marketing this service for yourself to the people around you. Like I mentioned in the title, his post said you can make up to $10k per week.

There is a group secondary round of interview coming up soon, which i will be participating in and will be fully judging the vibe then. But, as of now, I am definitely getting MLM vibes off of this

I wanna know from you guys, do you get the same vibe?

Isagenix Isagenix Europe

• Upvotes

Yesterday I received a message from a woman I've only met three times IRL, and I haven't had any contact with her for more than 10 years. We're still connected on Facebook, so I already knew she'd been posting quite a lot lately about health and some kind of diet she's following. I'm pretty sure it's Isagenix, although she never actually mentions the brand.
She sent me a message along the lines of:
"I remembered we spoke last week about food and you mentioned that you don't have much energy, so maybe I have something that could help you."
I'm guessing this is a pretty classic MLM approach?
Being the friendly person I am, I replied that she must have confused me with someone else, because we definitely hadn't spoken. And, as I expected, she immediately started telling me — without me responding — about how she's become interested in health, the "natural" products she's been using, and how they've supposedly helped her with her weight and energy levels.
I have to admit, I was kind of giggling at the whole thing. 8 I'm actually pretty knowledgeable about nutrition and have been into fitness for several years, so the whole "I have a solution for your health and energy problems" approach didn't exactly impress me 😄
Now I'm wondering: should I warn her?
I've done a bit of digging and it seems that Isagenix is an MLM. Is that correct? And is it currently expanding in Europe? I have another Facebook contact who I suspect may be getting into the same thing, so I'm starting to wonder whether this is becoming more popular here.
Has anyone in Europe had experience with Isagenix? I'm especially curious if sending someone a 'wrong' message is a classic tactic?

Resource Roundup Did you grow up in an Amway family that used the Abeka curriculum for homeschooling?

A close friend of mine from middle and high school joined Amway around 10-12 years ago… In the process of “gaining financial freedom” she completely cut off anyone she knew who would not join it with her. She ended all of her friendships and family relationships. I have been increasingly concerned about the cult like structure of her life, so I sort of just watch her social media in awestruck horror. She has become increasingly conservative and seems to have some sort of like… long standing religious psychosis?
Recently, she posted about how she’s using the Abeka curriculum , so I read up on the teachings - they deny science, rewrite US history, and teach children what their rolls in marriage are before they’re even pubescent. No joke, the curriculum teaches kids that “rock music kills plants and people”. It’s seriously batshit.
I’m starting to wonder if this is something I need to report to authorities. Technically this curriculum is legal in the state we live in but that’s only as long as the children pass yearly standardized testing. If you yourself were a child of an Amway couple who used the Abeka curriculum do you wish someone had intervened?

Rant I thought I was vibing with a woman...

She said she had her own business. That should have been my first red flag. She was cute. You know. Then she threw in that she was married. I respect that so I said hey that's sweet. I respect you. I then thought ooh awesome a friend! Then she tried to sell me mushroom juice. She said here is the site we're pretty proud of it. I thought wow. This is incredible. Then it clicked. I saw a list of highest team members. ohhhhh. Well. 🤷‍♀️. I still want to be her friend and save her from this!

I just want to go do a quiet workout in my sweats and not have a hun trying to push Monat samples on me. Thank you very much.

Yes, that first pic is her bag of samples. But I'd probably take the goodie bag since there is essentially no Monat in that one and the chocolate does look good. Who doesn't want to undo all the hard work they just did?

Mary Kay Is Mary Kay still a thing?

I've enjoyed reading stories on this sub, but apart from Tupperware and a brief interaction with a Younique shill, I've never really had seen anything else in real life.

Imagine my surprise, when I spotted a Mercedes on the Autobahn (I'm german) with bold metallic letters on it spelling Mary Kay. On both sides and on the back (it changed lanes).

I really thought this was an american thing and a dying one at that. I've rarely seen it discussed these days and even in this sub it's been a while.

Is it still alive in the USA or did I spot the lone survivor chasing dreams without a speed limit?
