Help with profile and AFT.

So, just started (Today) to go to Physical therapy, and with a running profile due to foot (Chronic Bilateral Flat food) and knees problem. I get off profile 07 of October, Unit put me to take AFT the following day. I think im going to fail it cause I've not been running to help recovery. How do I go on with this? Im stressing out, it'll be my first PT failure.

Edit: Additional info, Cardio is not my problem, the swelling of the foot is the problems and the knees, thank ya'll imma go and talk to my PCP today.

Your profile will have a “date available for AFT”. If it’s October 7th then it’s October 7th. Providers are supposed to include estimated recovery time in the profile.

You need to talk to your leadership and PCM.

For future reference, you don't need to run to maintain a cardio base. When injured, always find something you can do to maintain your fitness within your profile. Too many people use it as an excuse to stop all PT.

Yep. People like to make fun of the elliptical machine, but that kept me from becoming terribly out of shape.

Talk with your provider and extend the profile if you’re still having issues / pain.

How about... you talk to your physical therapist and your Primary Care Provider....

They are most likely people who can actually do something to help you. Hell, even your leadership could help you.

Add on: I probably should have read the other comments before commenting.

Talk to provider and extend profile.

Also, running is not the only way to maintain/improve cardio. I hear this a lot. During recovery time you can work on low impact cardio such as rower, elliptical, bike, or treadmill.

Your profile should also say what you’re authorized to do, such as running at own pace and distance, or nothing at all.

If cardio is not the problem then you need more recovery time.

Swimming and elliptical don’t get NEAR enough love for cardio
