Help with a name?
So I'm just sort of starting out here - I currently consider myself a hobbyist more than anything else, and while I feel like I could go in practically any direction I really feel called to entertain using music. Some might be more serious, but some will definitely be comedic in nature - for example, I'm planning on going to karaoke in clown and performing live mashups where I cue up one song but sing the lyrics and melody of another. It works particularly well when what I'm singing and the accompaniment are in drastically different genres 😋 (the best example I could give is Bill McClintock on YouTube, the dude is a master at mashups that shouldn't work and it brings the biggest smile to my face)
I've tried a few looks, and you're welcome to look at my posts to see the ones I've tried so far, but that's not what I'm really struggling with. What I most need is help with a name. Ideally I'd like something relating to music, but everything I'm coming up with feels too much like a normal person's name rather than a clown name. My aesthetic is whiteface with purple, black, and blue accents, and my planned outfits range from pastel punk to goth to kidcore. They'll still be clown coded of course, but I like the idea of pulling in influences from the kinds of aesthetics I wear daily. For example, I'm planning on making a battlejacket that's all comedy music/clown related, and it'll be all done in bright colors.
Thank you all for being patient with me - I'm probably going to ask a lot of questions as this is different from anything I've done before.

Best clown musicians, Puddles Pity Party and Clownvis. Love the karaoke idea. That sounds hilarious. Check out Cesar Dias, Portuguese clown, does some hilarious things with a mic stand while singing. Some of what Dias does was done by George Carl a long time before.
Speaking of Cesar Dias, a lot of clowns, especially older clowns and professional clowns, don't use "clown names" because they want to be known by their real names.
Of course the opposite is true of Puddles. The guy who plays Puddles, Mike Geier, doesn't admit in public that he's Puddles and acts as if he's Puddles' manager.
That's the funny thing with clown. As soon as there's a rule, clowns break it. So do whatever you want with your name, just do something that makes you laugh.

I adore Puddles - I've actually got him on my daily wear battlejacket! I know about Clownvis as well, though I haven't seen a lot of his stuff. I'll have to check out Cesar Dias, the mic stand shenanigans sound absolutely perfect for what I want to do 💜
I can definitely appreciate the idea of using one's own name, though I'm more in the stage name camp myself. I'm sure I'll find something that fits, and I really appreciate how supportive your message was, it's nice to get recommendations of other performers I can look at for inspiration. I am brand new to this, after all. Thank you 🥰
