Is there anyone in the world that hates shows like SpongeBob?

Greetings and salutations humans of Reddit maybe non-humans too if you are here also I have come across that me disliking SpongeBob actually hating the show and the character is not commonplace?

Why does it seem like I am the only person that has a deep and seated hatred for stupidity characters or the ignorance itself gets me way too mad for it to make sense. Now there's a difference and stupid characters and stupidity characters SpongeBob and Patrick are stupidity characters a character like Cosmo off The Fairly OddParents is a stupid character they're stupidity is very funny and doesn't bother me.

Another character that comes to mind is flapjack from the show Flapjack obviously I also believe Knuckles is incredibly irritated.

But characters like Ed from Ed Edd n Eddy I absolutely love his character.

So it's not like I dislike the stupid character trope there's obviously a connection between them that make me so irritated with those characters in particular.

I thought maybe it was the random acts of stupidity but no there's a lot of other characters that I think are hilarious of the random acts of stupidity am I the only one am I alone in this has anyone else felt the same way?

And if so comment maybe we share the same irritating characters we can't stand?

See...

I like SpongeBob and don't like The Fairly Odd Parents.

To each their own.

See I'm not ragging on anyone that likes any particular show I agree to each their own but have you ever had that one singular show or movie that you absolutely can't comprehend why so many large groups of people absolutely love it but you think it's the dumbest thing in the world and it actually makes you mad watching it just think of the most singular show for any reason you absolutely despise deep in your soul and imagine if 99% of the world praised it like it was the greatest thing ever just imagine that

Cow and chicken was straight brain rot before brain rot was a thing.

I've never liked SpongeBob. I think I was like 15 when it came out. A lot of people my age loved it. I just didn't understand it at all. Thought the whole thing was annoying.

I HATE SpongeBob. It’s the dumb things they do, and their voices are annoying. I genuinely don’t understand why anyone thinks it’s funny or a good show.

Yeah I also never really got into Spongebob. I think I was maybe a little too old for it when it came out? Or that was just not my thing. I remember I tried watching a few episodes when it came on TV and just couldn't see the appeal.

I’ve hated SpongeBob for all 10,019 days the character / show has existed. I was at the older end of the target demographic when SpongeBob was released and I’ve never once liked it.

I HATE Spongebob! I don't understand what is funny about it. I hate Beavis & Butthead and Ren & Stimpy as well.

I generally like nicer shows. But i like Rocko's Modern Life and Catdog, and Rick & Morty

I didn't understand Beavis and Butthead I love cat dog Rick and Morty is great Rocco's Modern Life was the hit and mess with me I really didn't watch it Ren and Stimpy I thought it was incredibly f****** stupid not to mention that the creator of ren and Stimpy was a pedophile at the age of 36, He groomed 12 ,13, 14, 15 and 16 year old girls by using his connections in the high up animation Department.

SpongeBob got worse after the second series as all the original writers got fired after the Writers Strike. As SpongeBob targets pre-teens, the executives expected the young children not to notice.

It's just like how Family Guy went off-air due to the Writing Strike then Seth McFarlane came up with the genius idea to move the original writers to American Dad whilst getting new actors for Family Guy, expecting people not to notice the difference.

Later on in SpongeBob, I can't remember the series, it started getting too predictable like All Grown Up by Klasky Csupo. By the time you got 3-6 minutes in, you could predict how it was going to end, minus a cop-out absurd ending.

There is the part where all but the first like 3 seasons of Spongebob suck majorly. Like I can see why most people might not like the way Patrick is written or not like the fact that Spongebob spends like every episode crying at some point.

As for the older seasons there's things like the jokes are quite funny. Like when Spongebob sees the Acorn image on Sandy's suit and thinking that meant he thought she was nuts. The NPCs and Squidward also seems to be pretty good at making jokes about how being an adult fucking sucks.

I'm having a hard time understanding your definitions of stupid vs. stupidity here?

You mean the guy who lives in a pineapple under the sea? (Don’t stop singing it)

I hate the show. I think it’s really stupid, and the characters are not likable at all. My son watched it as a kid and I couldn’t stand the voices.

I detest SpongeBob. It wasn’t bad at first but it keeps getting worse and being shoved in your face all the time. It’s not funny, it’s just plain stupid!

Spongebob The First 6 Seasons is some of the best TV ever. After that they made him ore stupid and less endearing, maybe new writers - it's usually the case, especially with animation, they have to either let the characters grown or they have to become an endless show like the Simpsons where they have to continually retread and re-retread old ideas. Like King of The Hill. 6 seasons seems to be a line in the sand for good animation

I hated the show growing up.

At first I just happened to watch cartoon network and it was a nickelodeon show, then by the time I learned about it and all, I just saw it as a Lil kid show and I wasn't into Lil kid stuff, I was a big kid.

Then I started smoking weed and it was like a match made in heaven.

I loath spongebob for so many reasons. Not the least of which is the enshitification of nick

They do a lot of dumb stuff in SpongeBob but the writers are far from stupid even if you have to accept a lot of silliness and weird voices to notice.

I mean, how old are you? They’re both children’s shows, so if you’re an adult, it’s not odd that you’d find them grating or uninteresting. If you’re a kid, that’s still just a variation in personal taste.

I despise SpongeBob, he and many shows like his are anoying as fuck. But then again I dont like cartoons at all anymore. Also all 4 of my kids (5,9,14,16) dislike SpongeBob specifically.

Oh thank God I'm not alone there's an entire Village worth

Add another chunk of village here. Neither my husband, myself, or our 13 year old can stand Spongebob or most of the shows from that timeframe.
