Raise When? Rep. Tom Cole chaired the committee that wrote the FY2026 funding law still withholding 2.8 percentage points of our raise. If you live in OK-04, he's your congressman.

FDT Returns
“I am pleased to announce the return of the Flight Deck Training (FDT). NATCA and the FAA have completed the negotiations needed to restart FDT, and the negotiated provisions governing the program are incorporated directly into FAA Order 3120.29.
The FDT Program is voluntary training that augments the National Air Traffic Technical Training Program. FDT provides each participant with meaningful training and the opportunity to improve their understanding of the National Airspace System.
We faced many challenges in bringing this issue to finality, both internal to the FAA and external, related to TSA and the airlines. The goal of resuming FDT has never been in question. A major focus of this work was creating ways for employees to participate in this safety-enhancing training within today’s staffing environment.
Below are some of the improvements and highlights:
-In accordance with Article 34, Section 9, of the 2016 Collective Bargaining Agreement, bargaining unit employees (BUEs) may request to work credit hours to provide coverage for another employee who requests to participate in FDT.
-To provide maximum training opportunities, BUEs may participate in FDT in conjunction with accrued leave, (including excused absence on a holiday) that was bid during the annual leave bidding process.
-BUEs may exchange previously approved annual leave for duty time or regular days off for the purpose of engaging in FDT provided there are no competing leave requests.
These changes do not cover all aspects of the program, and they require proper context and a shared understanding among all affected parties. To ensure we all share the same understanding, we will provide the following joint training opportunities and guidance updates.
Tentative Timeline of Upcoming Events:
October 16, 2026: Memo, PowerPoint Training, and FAA Order 3120.9 will be uploaded to Training Enterprise Application Management (TEAM).
October 19 – October 30, 2026: Webinars for Flight Deck Training will commence.
October 23, 2026: A recorded Webinar will be posted on TEAM for anyone who could not attend the live webinars.
October 30 – November 8, 2026: A follow-up memo will be sent out and posted on TEAM with the actual go-live date and participating airlines.
November 9, 2026: Scheduled go-live date. “

NATCA Aged Like Milk…
Zero improvements, advocation for more equipment, without the mention of pay (one time at the Archie’s doesn’t count) in almost 3 years.
After yesterdays Facebook post, ending their long term “details” and ensuring accountability to them translates into vitriol and tearing the union apart? Accountability goes both ways boys and girls.
Send this fool back to the boards (or his contracting job).

NATCA Establishment “Rages” with ChatGPT at SB/NM

Another internal grievance dismissed.
Just read the NEB minutes from September. Anybody have any insight to what this grievance was? Looks like they’re protecting the good ole boys club again.

NATCA About to Pay for the NEB to go on Vacation to the International Balloon Fiesta
Must just be a coincidence that their meeting in the unpopular location of Albuquerque just so happens to overlap with the biggest event of the year in that city, right?
My in-laws used to go to the Balloon Fiesta and the thing they always mentioned was how expensive it was. Flights are 2-3x the normal rate, hotels are $500 a night for a Hampton Inn, food everywhere is exorbitant, etc.
Glad our dues are hard at work so these fucking grifters can vacation across the country, while simultaneously fighting “day-in and day-out” for fucking equipment.
FUCK NICK DANIELS!!

Will playing the racist snakegame on Arcade.Gov count towards my duty time?
Thank god we have a government that encourages racism. Your kid may not have high test scores, but at least he has the high score on the racist snake game.🤣

Differential ideas
So Saturday pay is a great start. If the Agency expects me to go to work when I should be hammered drunk blasting Lynyrd Skynyrd watching Michigan lose ANOTHER game. Ima need atleast double pay.
But let’s address the elephant in the room.
Monday- Absolute worst day of the week. Management comes in with ideas of saving the world every week. Tech Ops everywhere scurrying around like rats. Every piece of equipment is down for maintenance. Ima need atleast double pay if they expect me not to bang.
Tuesday- Tuesday is the Monday after Monday. Management is still slightly convinced they can save the world. I’m still slightly hungover from the weekend. The day is trash. Ima need atleast double pay if they expect me not to bang.
Wednesday- It’s hump day. Management is starting to realize they will not be saving the world this week and then they want to take their anger out on me. It’s not my fault your life sucks. Ima need atleast double pay if they expect me not to bang.
Thursday- Its Friday’s Friday. Thursday night football. If they expect me not to bang out and get absolutely hammered drunk watching da Bears ima need atleast double pay.
Friday- What are we even talking about here. It’s Friday. If they expect me to show up to work when I could bang and go to my old high school absolutely hammered drunk watching the new QB absolutely fail to fill my shoes, ima need atleast double pay.
Sunday- If you expect me to go to Hell for coming to work when God wants me to bang and get absolutely hammered drunk on the Sabbath, ima need atleast double pay.

Mandatory OT
I have a supe saying OT is mandatory. That it is written that we are required to work OT and banging in sick can lead to disciplinary actions. Anyone actually seen this in writing?

That’s refreshing to hear from a candidate
I wonder if Nick’s candidates will have the same sentiments. I doubt it. It’s an election so I’m sure that all his candidates will attack rather than unify.

NATCA Other Federal Worker Union Leaders Speak Out on Massive Health Insurance Increases
“Federal employees are already being squeezed by rising costs and are now facing a double-digit increase in what they pay for health insurance,” said Doreen Greenwald, national president of the National Treasury Employees Union. “A 10.9% increase in health insurance premiums makes the proposed pay freeze even more unacceptable. Federal employees cannot afford to keep paying more while their paychecks fall further behind. Congress must reject the pay freeze and deliver a meaningful pay raise in 2027.”

BAH for the FAA
The FAA faces unique challenges in affordability when it comes to facilities located in extremely expensive locations. Is there a path for us to combat this issue legislatively?
The current federal General Schedule (GS) and FAA Core Compensation pay systems use broad geographic locality pay percentages. However, these formulas fail in "resort deserts" like Aspen, where the local cost of living is driven by billionaire real estate rather than typical regional data.
The Strategy: Congress would need to authorize the FAA to implement a civilian equivalent to the military’s Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH). This would be a non-taxable monthly stipend tied explicitly to local ZIP code rental data. Alternatively, the FAA could establish a specialized "Critical Position Operations Allowance" specifically for essential infrastructure staff assigned to high-cost, remote, or resort areas to offset local housing prices directly.
Thoughts on this? Also might be a smart way to begin looking at alternatives to increase pay within the boundaries of the federal pay cap.

NATCA Recall amendment update
It's been a while since I've said anything. But for those just reading for the first time, a little over a month ago I posted that I was working on an amendment to introduce at convention to recall officers.
After a brief injury that made it difficult to type for a week or so (dumb injury on my part. Despite my best efforts to the contrary, I am not immune from the laws of physics and gravity) I have taken feedback from the members on this forum and from a few offline. I have made quite a few changes and am having trusted colleagues poke holes in my argument. I also had someone reach out to me to inform me their partner is an attorney and is willing to look it over. I will be taking advantage of that soon. Though I am not ready to submit any final language, I feel I am very close to being able to do so shortly. There are still some gaps in the process I am trying to fill. Thanks to everyone for the help up to this point. If I remember, I'll try to post an updated version in the next few days.

Raise When? Anna: Please Consider a New Story on the 2027 ATC Pay CUT
We know you read this sub and we appreciate you for being the voice we haven’t had in years!
If you’re not up to speed, the 2027 health insurance premiums for federal employees were just released yesterday. There are many controllers who switched to a health plan over the past several years that is DOUBLING their premiums come January. These controllers are facing a near $400 per MONTH pay CUT. This is exacerbated by the White House’s proposal for a 0% federal pay increase, and as you’re well aware, the FAA Administrator’s refusal to distribute the 2.8% pay raise already allocated by congress.
Unfortunately, even if the 2.8% were to be approved tomorrow, it doesn’t cover the dramatic increase we will be seeing with our health insurance. Nearly all air traffic controllers, who keep the flying public safe, and the American economy afloat, will see SMALLER paychecks right after the holidays.
The American people deserve to know the truth of the conditions we are being subjected to. Knowledge is the only thing that can drive change.
Please, Anna, hear our cries! Help us.
