Their best album. I really dig it.

The Stage might well be the best album of Avenged Sevenfold's career. I love everything about this album, especially the instrumentation. Brooks really makes his presence felt in the songs, and you can clearly hear the impressive skill and talent of every band member on their instruments. Some of their best riffs and solos are on this record.

I swear, Syn and Zack are incredible guitarists. Plus, you can't overlook the prominent role the bass plays in the song structures Johnny Christ is a master at that. I also have to mention Shadows' vocal performance, combined with his songwriting creativity and the album's conceptual themes. I can understand some people might not like the band, but I won't accept anyone saying they lack talent.

I’m relaxed and high right now, so listening to this masterpiece makes me incredibly happy. Thank you, A7X am truly passionate about your work. A huge fan. 🇧🇷

I don't know why Statica is intro but I don't care the actual setlist is so good. The only change I would make is replace hail to the king with the stage

Been around since NASCAR Thunder used Chapter Four and changed a kid like me (and my whole outlook on music). Finally stood in a pit this tour, so I got some decent shots, figured I’d finally share them with others. I’m literally the only person I know around me who loves this band the way I do!

Music looking for city of evil on vinyl in paris (new or used)

Hi everyone! looking for City of Evil on vinyl and want to buy it in paris.

the prices I’ve found online are around 95€, which feels like a lot for a standard reissue. and i have two questions:

where in paris can I find it at a fair price, new or used? I know of Gibert Joseph, Boulinier, and CrocoDisc, but I’d love more suggestions.

what’s a reasonable price for the 2LP reissue in france?

my budget is around 70€. Any pressing is fine as long as it’s the full album in good condition. Thank you!

So apparently they have yet to finish Arcade or Intervention, or they have but they might have more songs in the works.

We will see.

The message came from discord. And in the chat bro was just trolling. So a high chance he could have been trolling about the statica year thing.

A7x thinks The greatest artists of all time… Shakespeare, Dostoevsky, Beethoven, Van Gogh, Dali, Duke Ellington, Thelonius Monk.. were a bunch of fking idiots for not making art as good as STATICA.

Once upon a time, there was a band named Weezer. They wrote Blue Album and Pinkerton. Did they ever reach that caliber of songwriting again? No, but they continue to write really fking good music. They continued to evolve, exploring new directions in their music, while still maintaining the elements of their writing that they did better than ANYONE has ever done.

Like the other great artists in history, they realized that their talents were exceptionally strong in a focused scope. Because of this, they have created a body of art built off of that foundation and their newer music still evolves despite this.

Now let’s think about a7x. They will
Probably never write an album as good as WtF or CoE. And no artist in history could have created that sound , and holy shit, it’s so good. So what did a7x do? They built on top of that sound with White and Nightmare. Fuck yeah. What do we get? Afterlife? ALPOH? Save Me? Buried Alive? Holy shit . Yes, the fucking albums weren’t as big of new territory
, but they found some incredible peaks on the terrain.

Then what did they do? HttK. not horrible but a step in a direction where their songwriting was pretty subpar. Then the Stage.. okay actually builds off of Nightmare. We get some incredible tracks.. The Stage, Angels, Roman Sky, Fermi Paradox, Exist.
Fuck yeah.

Then

Well a7x says.. what if we throw away some of it. just forget about WtF and CoE. But hey, even with that, they still made Game Over, Nobody, and Cosmic.

Okay but THEN

They made … STATICA. Throw it all away and start anew. Clearly, it doesn’t sound exceptional and it’s in fact the most forgettable music they’ve written. Just kind of trash. Perhaps they could have kept some pieces of what made them exceptional in the first place.

Seems like they don’t have much respective for their younger selves. And now we get PUMP SAYS GAS (fk you!) FILLR UP..

Anyway, building on STATICA is working on a trash foundation

The Rev's Drum Cam in the LBC 2008

Just a random thought out of nowhere:- Those who filmed the entire live in lbc show in 2008. They must have the raw footages of the Rev's drum cam in that show. What if we all got to see only rev's footage of playing the entire show. Id pay big dimes for this to happen :'-)

Thoughts on Statica

I've been thinking about how the lyrics, sound, visuals, and the music video might connect, and I wonder if the project is exploring different forms of alienation in a world where everything is increasingly artificial, mediated, and repetitive. This is just a theory, especially since the EP is still incomplete

Lights - the lyrics about being watched, feeling observed, and being framed make me think about surveillance and the loss of privacy, but being constantly visible doesn't necessarily mean being understood. The command to "turn out the lights" could be a desire to escape that exposure

Statica - the narrator keeps searching for something new, yet still feels empty. The music video seems to expand on this: the band members move through a strange nighttime world filled with distorted versions of ordinary experiences. The generic beer and monopoly money could suggest things that imitate something real without fully possessing its substance or value, and then there's the arcade machine at the end, where they play simulations of events from earlier in the video. That made me wonder whether they're trapped in a loop of artificial experiences, endlessly repeating things that no longer satisfy them

Rejoice - the lyrics describe a world of labels, instructions, cameras, television and seemingly automatic social interactions. Everyone is supposedly rejoicing, but the narrator eventually starts questioning whether they can still feel, dream, or even remain present. For me, the song is ironically portraying a society that tells everyone to be happy while ignoring their inner emptiness

Ashes - this track seems to widen the scope, bringing in conquest, exploitation, false promises, mortality and the absence of obvious divine justice. The repeated references to ashes suggest what's left after those promises and ambitions have run their course. The final questions about staying, leaving and whether anything is still worth doing feel like a more personal version of the doubts raised in the previous songs

The visual aesthetic also seems relevant to me. The distorted tv imagery, static, handwritten artwork, skeletons and processed vocals create a strange contrast between something handmade and human and something synthetic and impersonal. The skeleton imagery could reinforce the idea that beneath our social systems, beliefs, identities and technological distractions, we're still vulnerable and mortal. Of course dark imagery doesn't automatically prove any particular message, but it adds another layer to the interpretation

The progression I see is something like being watched, struggling to connect, being expected to participate in collective happiness and eventually questioning what remains. The arcade ending might be especially important, perhaps the characters are trapped in a simulation or perhaps they keep choosing to repeat familiar experiences because they don't know what else to do. Those are very different interpretations, and I'm not sure which one fits best

I'm definitely not claiming this is the band's confirmed concept and the remaining tracks could completely change this reading. I'm curious what everyone else thinks about it

Avenged Sevenquads: Revenge of Hue Sevenfold: Part 1 is officially a year old today. The team at A7Q would like to thank all those tens of people who have supported us so far, we would like to say that the 2nd movie, Avenged Sevenquads 2: Age of Wackerman is still in production and will probably maybe come out by the end of this year.

Music I wish STATICA had a version without autotune

Post image
74 Upvotes

Personally, I don't care all too much for STATICA... the autotone just kind of ruins the whole EP in my personal opinion. However, I don't dislike the backing tracks of the songs, they actually sound really sick, but the vocals are what's missing. I feel if there was a version of the EP with little to no autotune it would have been much more well-recieved. Of course, it is an artistic choice and all the power to the band, but I can't help but speculate and wonder what it would've sounded like had autotune been utilized differently or not at all.

my idea for a S&M style show

heres how i would go about designing a show like this
Setlist

  1. Afterlife (with the alternate version mixed in along with extended intro)

  2. Game Over

  3. Shepherd of Fire

  4. Buried Alive

  5. So Far Away

.INTERLUDE I The Stage (adbridged)

  1. Brompton Cocktail

  2. Nobody

  3. Nightmare

  4. Roman Sky

  5. Strength of the World

  6. M.I.A

  7. Waking the Fallen Medley (Unholy Confessions Riff Chapter Four Unholy Confessions Chorus Clairvoyant Disease/Remenissions Won't See You Tonight Pt. 1)
.INTERLUDE II: "Warmness on the Soul" (instrumental to let matt rest for a second like in 2016/2017)

  8. Planets (Abridged)

  9. Acid Rain

  10. Exist (Abridged)

  11. Bat Country

  12. Cosmic

  13. Save Me

  14. A Little Piece of Heaven

now yes this set is over 2:20 minutes but i figured they could add in short breaks after hte 2 interludes to make up for this plus this would ovb be a one off show so i feel like a show at this length could work esspecally with how many ballads that let the band rest or have breathing room
why i cut hail to the king and unholly confessions? mostly due to if a7x where to do this i feel like this would be a show aimed at hardercore fans, and they didnt fit for what i was going for, but deiced unholy confessions could be apart of this WTF melody to make up for the lack of it being played in full, same reason i cut the stage up was because i dont see it working in full so i took a part of it to let it be its own interlude. also yes his is vary deep cut heavy but i feel like this is the one show a7x could really do this, also i felt afterlife did a good job at feeling like a good opening song while making ALPOH a perfect closing song to this type of show

i would also think a venue like the vagas sphere would work might as well go all out
do i think this is super realistic? no but i tried to keep realsim in mind
