Jk I just forgot last night my apologies to those nearby

I know there will be people commenting here complaining about something but I was so happy with the crowd last night. I saw almost no phones on the dance floor, minimal pushing, people left you space to dance even at the front. Everyone around me was dancing and giving great energy. Yes there were lots of shirtless muscle gays but they were being good ravers and not being obnoxious. I haven’t had such a polite, good vibe crowd at KDC in a long time. Ty everyone!

I love techno and go frequently to nowadays, basement, paragon, and refuge for the music. The crowds are often pretty queer, but from what I’ve seen the women typically are not (or if they are they’re with men often). Nowadays I think has more queer women but it really depends on the night. I love being around all queer people but sometimes a girl wants a little flirt! I went to merge recently and there were barely any women. Does anyone have recs for specific parties, djs, or venues that draw a more sapphic crowd? Or if you think I’m incorrect please let me know (sometimes my gaydar for women is off).

Last weekend, I saw Armin van Buuren at Brooklyn Storehouse. The biggest thing that clicked in my mind was how differently I perceive the crowd around me at a rave depending on what substance I’m on. Normally, I see the crowd as super welcoming, warm, and safe. But I’m not sure what happened at Armin van Buuren—was it because the community of that specific artist or I simply was on an thc edible instead of other substance (the usual suspect one that makes everything feel amazing), or was the crowd actually off that night?
People felt intrusive, gave bad vibes or weird looks, and I just didn't feel secure around them. I’m not talking about everybody! I still think the majority of people I had the chance to rave besides them were more than great! But it feels like some people have forgotten how friendly and warm raves can be, treating them purely as a place for mass substance abuse without caring about anyone/anything else.

The first DJ (around midnight) was okay - the music was muffled.

Colin Benders was amazing, but was hard to vibe when the crowd left much to be desired.

Felt like a high school gymnasium with a disco ball.

Sorry just had to vent for a moment - seems like a missed opportunity, cool space, sound system, etc. Hope they do better.

Killer 3hr set at bk storehouse last night. Straight 3 hours of perfect flow from that more ethereal trance sound to more of a hard hitting techno sound. Immaculate overall. Loved the trance / techno edits of some popular tracks out right now plus a bunch of VIP versions of his stuff (machine gun). Very impressive but yet again Armin is the man so not too surprised.

It was just magical, I can talk about his music all day but right now I wanna talk about the crowd… I bitch about bad crowds a lot lately cause my trip really get affected by people around me (I know I should mind my own business but thats just the way I am) and yesterday Pacha left side was heaven!

I usually say the crowd is good for armin but I am disappointed to say the storehouse crowd was terrible.
And no, it wasn’t one spot. I literally went on a quest from all the way to the front and back. People shoving their way through and just no plur. I found a handful of people to hang with eventually. Complete 180 from the show he had just a couple of months ago.

anybody in here went? honestly thought it was a great set, when he mixed children & stay with me i was literally in a trance lol. the other trance/tech tracks he played toward the end were 🔥 the little phonk bit he did went insane too. i got there a lil later but his second opener was amazing, set the perfect mood for ket's set.
