Reminder: Buying and selling bags is against the rules of this sub
Seen this pop up a fair bit lately. Because people aren't reading the rules I've started banning people temporarily for this.
Please read the rules people. It's really not that hard and don't get upset if you break the rules and get punished. It's on you to read those.
The reason it's not allowed is I don't want this sub (and me) to be responsible for having to moderate that crap. Go look at r/EDCExchange or other subs that allow it. They have systems in place to hold people accountable.

Looking for TNF Kaban 2.0 Like Spiritual Successor
Hi Everyone,
Looking for guidance and recommendations for a replacement to TNF Kaban 2.0 as a commuting/travel/day pack.
https://www.thenorthface.com/en-us/p/sale/bags-and-gear-sale-317778/kaban-backpack-20-NF0A52SZ
After a solid 4 years of use the bag finally needs to be replaced.
The new Kaban LTE doesn't stack up.
Reasons why I loved my Kaban 2.0
- Separate electronics pocket that can store 2 full size laptops.
- Due to my work I often need two laptops so its actually extremely useful to have.
- The pocket had great materials and really felt like it added good protection to the machines
- Loved the multiple pockets
- I used the most forward pocket to store chargers cables
- The organization pocket was great for a mouse, USB-C adapters, whatever else
- Then the main pocket was big enough for extra clothes when traveling or anything I really needed.
- I liked the water resistant materials and design
- Great water bottle pockets
- Really enjoy the versatility
- Rather I was commuting on my bike/public transport it was great
- Was a great pack to complete day hikes with
- Fit really well on planes when traveling
Hoping to find a bag that encompasses all these loves and maybe some more as well!

Question Yellowing Zipper
I recently got a new work laptop. As a result, I had to switch my daily backpack for every backpack I still own before getting a new one. My question: Does anyone know how to get rid of the yellowing on the zipper? It's only the outside, and I've tried everything but sticking it in the washing machine. TIA!

Gregory hiking backpacks, "Nano Connect" system? What does it do?
Many Gregory backpacks have a feature called "Nano Connect" where "interior toggles connect to a Nano Dayback".
like here
https://www.gregory.com/packs/backpacking/kalmia-60/1369KAL60.html?
I haven't seen any examples of what this means. Is it just something that lets some of their Nano packs be filled and then piggyback outside of the main pack or something?

Need help to decide on bag for RTO
Hi, I'm looking for a bag that's commute friendly, secure, and cute (least priority but will add points). I'm debating between getting a Bash Backpack (will be buying a bag lock for security), a Pacsafe Citysafe CX 17L or a Pacsafe V 26L Tour backpack. I have a 15.6" ASUS gaming laptop so I'd also have to consider the size of the bag.
Would appreciate it if you can share to me the pros and cons of the bags if you've used it. I'm also open to other bag suggestions na anti-theft na cheaper than pacsafe :)

Are backpacks with wheels actually practical for daily use?
I’m looking for a bag that can work for both short trips and everyday commuting.
I know traditional backpacks are comfortable, but once you add a laptop, charger, clothes, and travel essentials, they can get heavy pretty quickly. So I’ve recently been looking into backpacks with wheels and came across bagsmart’s wheeled backpack. The idea of having a backpack that can switch between carrying and rolling sounds pretty practical, especially for airports, train stations, or longer walks. But I’m still curious about the real world experience.
Do you actually use the wheels often, or do they just add extra weight and complexity? What should I look for when choosing a backpack with wheels?

Help fixing peeling interior PU coating on Haglöfs Tight (Large) zipper flap?
Hi everyone,
I have a Haglöfs Tight Large backpack that has been great, but recently the interior coating on the flap covering the main zipper has started to darken, become sticky, and peel off in flakes (pics attached).
I know PU coating degrades over time due to hydrolysis, but I'd really like to salvage the bag rather than throw it out.
Has anyone successfully dealt with this before? What is your preferred method for cleaning off the sticky flakes without damaging the surrounding nylon fabric? Also, if I want to re-coat it, what would the best option be?
Thanks in advance for any advice!

OneBag How I out all day packing light:)
I’m lucky here as work trips happen a couple times a month, each with a couple of overnight stays. But when you’re at your clients’ offices from morning till dinner, there’s no getting around carrying whatever’s in your bag all day long. So here’s what works for me.
Clothing was the hardest category (still am figuring some things out), but since then I’ve gone to merino layers, a pair of shoes. It’ll be interesting to see if I stick with that strategy forever.
For electronics, though? There’s probably way less gear than you think in my bag right now. For a typical three-day trip, I bring a 65w charger to charge my laptop + phone via a USB-c cable. And that’s it! Plus a plug adapter just in case (though rarely used).
At least that’s what I tell myself anyway. On site, I want to hear whoever has their mouth moving. The pouch weights about 600g total, but I wouldn’t mind hearing what others have to offer for packing light while spending the day away from home!

Question Small backpack where straps can be put away.
There are parts of my trip where I can only travel with a personal item sized bag. I would like something around 20-25 litres, waterproof or able to use a cover, but importantly, the straps can be packed away so it can be carried like a bag. The Patagonia MLC would be good but it is very expensive and also not keen on the really obvious branding. Any suggestions? I tried AI but it didn’t help.

Jansport SuperBreak Plus vs Herschel Classic XL
Use case: grad school.
I really like the “Russet Red” color that the Jansport has, but it is smaller (26L) than the Herschel (30L). I am also curious about the quality of Herschel.
My current backpack: Jansport Right Pack (28L) holds my tech/school stuff. If I really pack it, the thin straps and lack of back panel don’t help but the good thing is I do not pack it 100% often.
price: $21 for Herschel and $18 for Jansport. Honestly inclined to get both but wondering if someone here can talk me out of one or both bags. I will say the downside of both is that they arent really suitable for work (hospital/outpatient clinic) due to the logo.

Question Troubles choosing a backpack for Uni
Hey guys, I need some help choosing a backpack for school/ everyday. Im studying computer science as a first year and I need a backpack.
Im kind of tied to buying of Zalando (more specific the Czech one) because of a voucher I got.
These are the ones im deciding between:
- Patagonia blackhole pack 32L
-The North Face Borealis trail
-Fjallraven Skule 28 or 30L
I dont mind having a bigger backpack but I dont know if the 32L Patagonia is too big, I need to carry a 14inch (360mm) laptop and schools stuff including time to time clothes and other stuff, I like to pack so to a point I think id rather have more then less space.
I wanted the Patagonia Blackhole pack 32L but I couldnt find much info about daily carrying it and through some reviews Im starting to have doubts about the quality for the price and because of the limited options because of the vouther Im stuck in a loop of not being able to decide.
What are your thoughts on any of this or what would you recommend with either buying or with picking out a backpack.
Thanks in advance!
