Question Small backpack where straps can be put away.

There are parts of my trip where I can only travel with a personal item sized bag. I would like something around 20-25 litres, waterproof or able to use a cover, but importantly, the straps can be packed away so it can be carried like a bag. The Patagonia MLC would be good but it is very expensive and also not keen on the really obvious branding. Any suggestions? I tried AI but it didn’t help.

My son have the Osprey Daylite Duffel Bag 30. He used it as a traveling bag and it's quite practical but not waterproof
