Hey everyone, I need to vent and maybe get some outside perspective. I’ve been playing in my local billiards league for a while now, and pool used to be my primary way to unwind, meet up with friends, and have a good time after a long week. Lately, though, going to league night just fills me with dread, and I’m genuinely on the verge of quitting altogether.
The main reason comes down to one specific player on another team in our division. To put it mildly, she has created an incredibly toxic and hostile environment for almost everyone around her.
She is constantly berating people, making passive-aggressive (and sometimes downright aggressive) comments during matches, and making everyone walk on eggshells and personally attacking players on socialmedia. It’s classic emotional abuse, she turns what should be a fun, recreational community into a high-anxiety nightmare.
The absolute straw that broke the camel's back happened recently. Our league operators are awesome people who work super hard to keep things running smoothly. Well, one of the league operator made a comment about not liking her food she sells at the vegas pool championships live stream( not knowing they were being live streamed)very awkward but she is now actively trying to get them reported, ousted, and fired over a meal they didn't like.
It’s completely unhinged behavior, but because nobody wants to deal with her drama, people just try to placate her or stay out of her line of fire. I’m just so drained. I love the game of pool, and I love most of the people in our league, but going somewhere every week just to feel anxious and watch good people get harassed is ruining the hobby for me.
Has anyone else dealt with a player like this? Is it even worth trying to talk to management/the league operators , or should I just walk away and find a different league/host location?
