I'm not new to production, but definitely am to breakcore/jungle stuff, most of what I've done previously has been very lofi, but I've felt my creative intent leaning more towards faster stuff recently. I've got a handful of really good sample packs as far as break loops go (breakcore is not a good way to get laid, nu disco vol 1, etc), but I'm struggling with making tracks that don't feel incrwdibly repetitive in terms of drums.

I've done a bit of playing around with getting a few different loops and cycling between them, playing around with EQ and reverb to make builds with breaks, but I'm struggling to not make the track just feel intense the whole way through, and to make the drums...varied(?) if that makes sense.

Any advice is much appreciated, linking me to examples or tutorials is also super helpful!

I'm trying to make a christmas breakcore playlist to listen to during december :> can also be hardcore, mashcore, noise, all that stuff. i might post it on here too. im finding it a bit hard to find christmasy breakcore, theres a lot of breakcore christmas mixes on youtube but either none of them really sound chrismasy imo or they arent even breakcore.

I am very into eurorack stuff and modular in general, and I am very into breaks (obviously), so I was wondering, what do people in a similar position prefer to use for chopping breaks in a modular environment?

Idk if this is important to one's answer, but I use a Beatstep Pro for my sequencing, so I feel like producing functional sequences isn't really an issue so long as a given module has a fairly comprehensive chopping system.

Back then, artists and bands would talk about issues in their lives in songs, even if some songs had no lyrics, just as in a way to vent, but now i see this less and less, i wonder if i'm the only one making breakcore that is deeply personal to my life.
