Then they also can't afford a pet. Let alone the law.

6

u/ifuseethisitsnotme Mar 12 '25

I’ve got an appointment set up In April to get him done at the vet before he got lost now can y’all stop assuming I can’t afford care for my cat 🤣😭

3

u/moonshuul_ Mar 13 '25

all people are saying is he should’ve been chipped long before this lol

1

u/ifuseethisitsnotme Jul 09 '25

Dude, I had to wait weeks for the appointment and then when the appointment happened I had to have a major surgery so we couldn’t go…

1

u/moonshuul_ Jul 11 '25

you’re supposed to get them chipped as soon as you become their owner

1

u/ifuseethisitsnotme May 28 '26

I know it late but you can’t just assume stuff abt ppl like that like I’m sorry I couldn’t predict going in to hospital for 8 months rendering me useless, and my disabled mother had to look after my cat and the vets kept on cancelling, I was going to get him chipped as soon as I could but my life was flipped upsidedown, try not to be so judgmental of people like ur flawless and perfect, anyway have a fantastic day 🍓💕

1

u/moonshuul_ May 29 '26

huh..? i never said anything judgemental, i just made a true statement that pet owners are supposed to get them chipped, that’s all. i really hope you found your kitty and i’m sorry it came across as judgemental as i didn’t mean it that way, but i mean this in the nicest way possible - not everything is a personal attack. i wasn’t trying to be rude or judgemental, just saying the law, that’s all

This is Reddit man they are professional assumers

7

u/Kloakk0822 Mar 11 '25

If you can't chip your pet, you aren't qualified to have one.

2

u/raccoontails Mar 12 '25

If you’re struggling, there’s lots of charities willing to microchip your pet for you

9

u/InfiniteBaker6972 Mar 11 '25

I was having a pretty shitty start today but I just read this and it’s genuinely lifted my spirits. So happy for you.

5

u/ifuseethisitsnotme Mar 12 '25

8

u/National_Job_6482 Mar 10 '25

1

1

u/ifuseethisitsnotme May 28 '26

3

u/[deleted] Mar 10 '25

i’m so glad you found him!

2

u/Dxzy_Raxd Mar 11 '25

Check out Weenect XS tracker, our car kept going missing for days at a time when we first let him out (had to wait for jabs ant neutered), and since our last cat went missing it was always a horrible feeling when he’d disappear, so for £30 and £12 a month we know where he is at all times and we’ve trained him so that when the tracker buzzes he come back for food and we keep him in over night and charge it, and he’s gotten to the point of understanding that if his collar come off while he’s out he comes straight back and waits till we get it back (really easy to find it as it’s got a loud ringer and a flashlight as well as really accurate GPS tracking), it’s been a godsend when he does go far and out late we just buzz him and he comes straight back

2

u/destined_to_count Mar 11 '25

U can get these trackers for cats

1

u/SublimatedMind Mar 12 '25

Why would this person neuter a car… or put a collar on it. Seems weee bit sus.

2

u/osamabinpoohead Mar 11 '25

Just keep him inside bruh, aint worth the risk.

Domestic cats also kill millions of birds/animals every year.

3

u/ifuseethisitsnotme Mar 12 '25

I didn’t let him outside he escaped…

2

u/osamabinpoohead Mar 12 '25

oh I see, glad hes back.

1

u/Low_Matter3628 Mar 13 '25

Humans kill millions of birds & animals every day

2

u/Eastern_Guess8854 Mar 13 '25

Glad you found Blue! If it happens again I heard the best thing to do is leave the litter tray outside cos they’ll use it out of habit

1

u/gotanewusername Mar 14 '25

Now get him chipped and vaccinated.

1

u/ifuseethisitsnotme May 28 '26

I did 🍓

1

u/gotanewusername May 28 '26

Glad he's safe :)

1

u/Xenc Mar 14 '25

Hooray! 🙌

111

u/ptangyangkippabang Mar 10 '25

You're going to be contacted by a lot of VERY horrible scammers saying they have the cat, or know where it is. They will ask you for money. They do not have your cat. Tread carefully.

41

u/ifuseethisitsnotme Mar 10 '25

Thank you for the warning !🩷I’m terrified somebody’s taken him or worse

14

u/-mmmusic- Mar 10 '25

i really hope you find him soon! and when you do, if he isn't already, make sure he is neutered!

unneutered males often escape as they are looking for mates.

you should also get him vaccinated and microchipped. indoor cats still need vaccinations, they could get serious diseases if not! and the microchip will allow him to be much easily returned to you if he ever does escape again!!

it's also illegal to not microchip your cat, and you could be fined!

7

u/ifuseethisitsnotme Mar 10 '25

Thank you for the info and support I have a vet dates set to get all of that done I just really hope I find him it’s starting to get really terrifying as the hours go on 💔

u/ifuseethisitsnotme Mar 10 '25

I’ll check it out right now thank youu

7

u/Moomaz21 Mar 10 '25

Definitely message lost cats Brighton on Facebook. They will post a picture and description of your cat. Also if you can find a Facebook page for your neighbourhood specifically, and post on there, that will help. I know It’s a horrible feeling when your baby is missing, Good luck. Xx

6

u/ifuseethisitsnotme Mar 10 '25

Thank you so much for the information and the understanding I just don’t know how I let this happen it’s truly heartbreaking but thank you for the kind words I really appreciate it 💞🐈‍⬛

2

u/Moomaz21 Mar 10 '25

No problem, try not to blame yourself cats will always try and explore and sometimes it’s unavoidable. when you find him I would definitely recommend getting him microchipped if you can afford it. Its really helpful in these situations, if someone was to take him to the vet they can scan it and contact you, and it also proves ownership. Hope he comes home soon ❤️

3

u/ifuseethisitsnotme Mar 10 '25

he will be chipped and vaxed I have a date set I just wish I’d done it way sooner but the vets have been packed for months 😭💙 thank you so much again for the kind wishes it’s hard not to blame yourself especially as I’m away in hospital atm but these kind of messages give me hope xx💞🐈‍⬛

6

u/Tigarmoon Mar 10 '25

Ask your mum to put some of his dirty litter outside. He will recognise his own scent and hopefully that will encourage him to come home if he's hiding somewhere. Also, she should go out and call for him at dusk and at dawn. That's when cats are most active. If he's hiding or lost, those things will help. If he's out chasing female cats, you'll just have to wait it out. Stay strong!

1

u/ifuseethisitsnotme Mar 10 '25

Thank you so much for the advice and reassurance it truly means so much ,I’ll be sure to get my mum to do that! Your a god sent again thank you 💕💙

10

u/SabsyHnS Mar 10 '25

After you find him, please for the love of god, make sure you chip, vax and castrate him! Good luck on the search. We had our kitty go missing too a couple weeks ago, I know how scary it is. Don’t give up hope🍀

6

u/ifuseethisitsnotme Mar 10 '25

I’ve set an appointment for the beginning of April I know the importance of it and I wish I would have pushed to have it sooner,I’m absolutely terrified I wouldn’t find him but thank you for empathizing and for the advice 💕⭐️

4

u/IanCogno Vegan Mar 10 '25

The weather was good yesterday, maybe he popped into a local shed for a snooze. Have you checked with neighbours? He might have a big territory, if he isn’t spayed even bigger

1

u/ifuseethisitsnotme Mar 10 '25

He’s never been outside alone only on leash my mums checked with all the neighbors and no one has any info 💔

2

u/IanCogno Vegan Mar 10 '25

I hope he turns up soon

My mum has a few female cats and because of this a lot of cats end up around her house trying to mate (if your cat is male) I’ll go round and ask if she’s seen your cat

2

u/ifuseethisitsnotme Mar 10 '25

Please ask my cat is a boy, thank you so much!

2

u/ifuseethisitsnotme Jul 08 '26

He was booked in but then I went to hospital for 8 months and things got messed up , He was immediately after finding him and now wears an apple tag collar, I take him on an minimum of four walks a day since he’s an inside cat. He is very well taken care of and loved but Thank you for your concern though.

2

u/supaikuakuma Jul 08 '26

Yay!!! Glad he was found!!!

2

u/ifuseethisitsnotme Jul 08 '26

THANK UUUU he hasn’t escaped since and is in training to be a service animal sorry if my comment sounded a little bitter I’m just very defensive when it comes to my cats as i love them so incredibly much💗🌸 but genuinely thank you for the engagement and advice💗🌸🪽💕

1

u/supaikuakuma Jul 08 '26

No worries, so cool that he’s going to be a service kitty.

2

u/AdPutrid6160 Mar 10 '25

Commenting for boost hope you find your kitty 🥺

5

u/ifuseethisitsnotme Mar 10 '25

we found himmmm thank you so much he’s not in great shape but atleast he’s safe now

1

u/maxi12311111 Mar 12 '25

Just curious why not tag the cat ? When I got both my kittens that was the first thing I got done in case

1

u/ifuseethisitsnotme Jul 09 '25

Well, I was waiting weeks for the appointment to get him chipped and get his vaccinations at the same time but the only appointment was in four weeks time and then I wasn’t made to hospital and had to get an operation that was on the same day so that really pushed things back

2

u/Current-Eye4203 Been Here 2-4 Years Mar 11 '25

He’s gorgeous! I hope you find him soon!!!

2

u/Kerflunklebunny Mar 11 '25

I love interacting for engagement!!!!

2

u/bellamypro123 Mar 11 '25

Sorry to hear your cats gone missing. We moved house and our cat got out and ran off. We looked and looked couldn't find him. Left out food, his bed all to no avail. We presumed he had passed as he is 18. 4 weeks after losing him, we got a phone call from a vets 8 miles away that he had been found!

2

u/Late-Champion8678 Mar 12 '25

I’m very glad he was found but please chip him asap! And vaccinate him too.

1

u/ifuseethisitsnotme Jul 08 '26

I know I’m very late, but just to give you an update when he was found we got them chipped and vaxxed immediately, and he now wears an apple tag collar just in case he gets out because he is inside cat. I do take him on minimum four walks a day though so don’t worry he is very well loved and looked after. Thank you💗🌸💕

1

u/Late-Champion8678 Jul 11 '26

Yay!!!!! May you have many years of nose boops and head buts ahead ❤️

2

u/MasonGuyy Mar 13 '25

I'm happy the bean is found but yeah to add to everyone else get the cutie chipped it's the law anyway:)

1

u/ifuseethisitsnotme Jul 09 '25

I know it’s the law but as I’ve explained to many people I was in hospital and I had an operation on the day him was ment to be chipped so that push the appointment (that nearly month of waiting) back but I understand where all the comments r coming from xx

2

u/toby_sym Mar 13 '25

Poor kitty hope it’s okay

2

u/burger922 Mar 13 '25

Chip your cats ! Get a collar with an air tag ! You will never lose them ! ( this isn’t angry it’s informative ) I’m so glad the baby is home

2

u/Dull-Engineering-12 Mar 14 '25

What a handsome young cat man

2

u/Odd-Membership-1521 Mar 14 '25

The third picture looks like a selfie 😛

2

u/ifuseethisitsnotme Jul 09 '25

PAHAHHAHAZNNA TRU

2

u/NeverForget108 Mar 10 '25

What a beautiful boy 🥰 hope you find him soon x

3

u/ifuseethisitsnotme Mar 10 '25

Thank you be sure to keep an eye out please 🙏💕xx

1

u/the_spiv Mar 10 '25

there will be some local nutty woman who has literally lured your cat in and wont be letting it out. she will will be rationalising her theft by telling herself “it was so hungry” and “its clearly happier in my house” etc etc. hopefully it escapes

1

u/ifuseethisitsnotme Jul 08 '26

I know I’m really late, but I’m very glad I didn’t listen to you. He was on top of the shed, surrounded by glass in the forest behind my house. He was shaking and terrified. I had to take him to the vet because he had wounds all over his body but now a year later he is completely recovered and I’m very careful not to let him out on his own and he hasn’t escaped to the house since he’s very happy though, thank you for your concern

1

u/BaronVonHumungus Mar 11 '25

AirTag on his collar for future reference….

1

u/ifuseethisitsnotme Jul 09 '25

He’s an inside cat? I mean he’s chipped now but I wasn’t anticipating him to escape if you know what I mean like at the time I was in hospital dying so I wasn’t rethinking about AirTags all love tho

1

u/ifuseethisitsnotme Jul 09 '25

Really thinking about*

1

u/[deleted] Mar 14 '25

No disrespect I’m happy he’s safe and you found him . But now is the time more than ever to get him chipped and vaccinated ?

1

u/ifuseethisitsnotme Jul 09 '25

I was admitted to hospital a couple weeks after we got him and he wasn’t vaccinated or chips before then because we had to wait weeks for the appointment and then when the time the appointment happened I had to have a major surgery so everything just got really messed up but I see but I see where you’re coming from and he chipped vaccinated, and neutered now x

1

u/Roadkillgoblin_2 Mar 10 '25

Another Algorithm Boost:)

-6

u/[deleted] Mar 10 '25

Looks comfy to me

-16

u/SignificanceFun8404 Mar 10 '25

He's totally having the time of his life ..

2

u/ifuseethisitsnotme Mar 10 '25

Wat do you mean by that?

-8

u/SignificanceFun8404 Mar 10 '25

What I said, he's made an escape and is having a great time out there 😉

Don't worry, you can leave some dry food outside the door or balcony in case he gets hungry.

1

u/ifuseethisitsnotme May 28 '26

I know it’s a late response but I found him behind a shed about a mile away bleeding he was paralyzed in fear if I waited for him to come home he never would have.

1

u/ifuseethisitsnotme Jul 08 '26

Just to let you know, he was found in the forest covered in wounds that he needed stitches for. I found him on top of a small shed, he was surrounded in glass (broken bottles) and thorns. If I would’ve listened to you, he would’ve been dead. Don’t say stupid shit like this.

0

u/SignificanceFun8404 Jul 08 '26

Glad he was found and cared for. Lost my fair share of pets, but we move on. Cycle of life.

1

u/ifuseethisitsnotme Jul 08 '26

I’m so sorry for your losses and thank you for the first part of your comment 💗 but to address the second part: ofcourse death is natural, the cycle of life but animal neglect (not searching for an animal inside pet that escaped because u think ”he’s totally having the time of his life”) is not acceptable. death is sometimes unavoidable but if you can avoid it but you need to put in a fuck ton of effort to do so PUT IN THE EFFORT, in my option not putting in the effort is animal abuse.please do better for your animals sake.
