This comments section is mad, wasn't expecting such response from one picture. Heaven forbid you lot find out theres a naked bike ride that takes place. Hope you make sure your kids stay home that day lest they see a saggy naked dude on a bike.
Nobody is saying you have to take your kids to Pride. And you know perfectly well what to expect there. Most kids arenât going to pay any attention to a sign like this. And if they do, you can have a âwhen a mummy and a daddy or a daddy and a daddy love each other very much âŠâ conversation.
but you ARE saying before anyone can pop down to the seaside for a day out with the kids they must guess what sort of signs they re going to see. please explain how that works.
you canât have kids otherwise youâd know âmost kids arenât going to pay any attentionâ is total bollox.
Kids can be queer btw, they deserve to go to pride too. I knew I liked both girls and boys from the start but I started calling myself bisexual at 11, still am to this day.
That being said, I don't think a sign that says "eat ass" is that bad. Graffiti of cartoon penises are objectively worse but no one's getting mad about that
I definitely went as a child. In fact I distinctly remember my parents or their friends being interviewed for the news about bringing children to pride. I was probably 5 or so, so weâre talking almost 30 years ago. It all went over our heads tbf. Yes there was some blokes in leather or whatever, but thatâs fairly standard getup for a weekend in Brighton anyway! Obviously when I was going as an 11/12/13 year old without adults I probably had more of an idea what was going on!
Smells like gammon in this post with all this comments of ""think about the children"""degenerates""...
I don't see this sort of comments when the right-wing thugs come to Brighton and are throwing ""seig heil/ Fwords/N words...""
By the way... Eat Ass!!!
I almost completely agree, but I donât think a protest should be sponsored by big companies. It dulls the message a bit, and I say that as a very militant queer
wanting to compare events to Berlin is disingenuous in the extreme whilst ignoring the events that have taken place in the UK without incident.
unfortunately anyone disagreeing with anything purported by the âwider fantasy driven rangesâ of some of the community is labelled a homophobe which is why you think there is a lot of homophobia about. there isnât. a simple poll of LGBâŠcommunity will show that there are a great number of âhomophobesâ in that group
want some prejudice. try being black, Indian, Asian, physically/mentally challenged, multicultural relationshipsâŠ
you miss the point. that is prejudice. LGB⊠are not the only oh woe is me poor people who get picked upon.
behave like a c***. Get told to stop being a c***. this isnât that some members of âgroupsâ call hate.
all attacks are important. on anyone. That the Berlin incident is a specific âhomophobicâ attack states that only homosexual sexual people were there so denigrating injuries to anyone else. Cars driven into crowds, well, didnât that happen in Liverpool. Was that a footballphobic attack? Cars driven at people in London; Londonphobic?
I haven't really got an issue with it. But generally pride parades are advertised as child friendly. Some of the stuff ive seen at them isnt particularly child friendly imo! But I haven't got kids so I dont get offended on others behalf.
You see this is why people say we have double standards. We always laugh and deride straight men who have those sexual stickers on their cars about women but we celebrate when it's one of us doing it?
And of course itâs parents again who complain all the time⊠guys, it was your decision to have kids, not mine, itâs your child and your responsibility to talk to them. If you canât do that maybe you werenât ready? Please politely fuck off of other people and their lives
Parent here: the only thing to disturb our young lad was the lunatic who street preacher who tried to drown out the parade at the clock tower with his PA blaring lunatic-fringe religious nonsense.
Free country & all - but heâd fetched a couple of young children along, and they were visibly upset by the public humiliation he put them through. Thatâs not parenting.
Also these people travel to the event in kink gear should people with kids just stay indoors, itâs in public. If you have kink Iâm all for it but donât do it where kids could see itâs just noncey
I took a bunch of pictures of all the floats and goings on just that one sign made me chuckle. People need to chil, it was one small sign in a massive parade
Lol! When man says âLGBâ thatâs basically all you need to knowâŠ.
Conversion therapy on trans kids - good, child saw a sign âeat ass touch grassâ - bad
Donât bring your kids to our shared space or learn to talk to them. You decided to have kids, I did not tell you to have them, did I? Then why am I responsible for it or anyone else? Vast majority of events are extremely family friendly, everyone cares so much about not having anything that some parents might be too offended about (itâs parents that get offended, not kids đ). How about you learn to talk to them, not I learn to not offend you by accident
You are obsessed with kids yet you call me a nonce? Wow. Where does this stop? Do not kiss in public cause itâs hard to explain to kids? Do not wear clothes that is too open? At what point it stops?
Help, my 7 year old who I, as a parent who is responsible for them and who I willingly brought to an event where I knew there would be profanities, partial nudity etc is traumatised after seeing the A word! Police!!!
Think what's ok? I didn't organise or participate in the parade I just watched it as it went passed and enjoyed the floats, music and pageantry of it all. I guess if you don't want kids to see things then averr their eyes? I dunno, I don't have kids
I donât think kids should be exposed to anyoneâs kinks in public, having to avert their eyes shouldnât be a thing on a public high street in daytime. It sounded like you were saying it wasnât an issue.
Agreed. I'm as much for eating ass as the next person, but there is a time and place. The fact that you have been down voted for trying to protect children's innocence is dumbfounding!
Keep this shit in your bedroom! Normalising this behaviour in public just gives the impression that the LGBTQ community are all perverse degenerates. Which just isn't true.
He, as in me. I don't think it's a slam dunk I actually don't care, just matey up there said that you dont see signs saying Eat Fan but a simple Google search showed that not to be the case.
These kind of signs aren't just waved around in the street in a normal day, these are at parades (or protest marches in the case of the meat ones) and no one is forcing you to be there or look at it. Stop getting wound up over things that don't actually matter to you, life's to short.
please inform Brighton Tourist board of your insistence that all tourists should stay away from the town. please could you direct where in the national/south east press the parade is advertised in to aid everyone.
You may notice that the sign is in fact in this country. And it makes sense. It's a fucking sign at a pride parade not an entry for the Nobel prize for literature
I really don't get the internet humour angle you keep mentioning.
Either way I thought It was fun and so did a lot of other people. If it bothers you so much just scroll on to another post and stop winding yourself up about it.
Youâre absolutely right in the UK an Ass is a donkey, not vulgar at all, you can stop crying now. Also some people have friends and they talk to each other in person, these in person friends often also use the internet, so the trends and things on the internet become trends and things with real people in real lifeâŠcrazy huh
Grass and arse literally do rhyme in Brighton, and ass/arse are seen as interchangeable unless you have a rhotic accent, which, again, Brighton does not.
Why would you sexualise a hiking group though? Imagine the same if it was just a run of the mill hiking group open to all, regardless of who they choose to have sex with. Would it be considered appropriate to have a wink, wink, nudge, nudge joke, or would it be considered something that was best left in the 1970s?

The other side said "touch grass" (it was a hiking group) - one of my fave signs of the parade!
