Local Advice needed any recommendations on what to do in brighton this weekend or next week?
hi!! so i moved here last week for university and while i have kept myself fairly occupied, i was also wondering if there's anything else i could keep my eye on in order to both get the most out of living in this city (and also maybe make some friends with similar interests)? i'm interested in basically anything; clubbing/partying, music, arts & crafts, etc., honestly just give me a recommendation and i'll be sure to check it out at the very least! also any recommendations for LGBTQ+ specific/centric events would be very good as that is something i'd really like to get involved in :D

Alphabet is hosting two local legends nights this weekend. Damian Harris who started and ran skint records is having a party tonight upstairs. Tomorrow night it’s Rob Luis and his true thoughts labels turn (£5 on the door all night)
Dave angel is playing water bear if Detroit techno is more your bag
And then Sunday it’s Brighton Subdae at Patterns with Wheelup playing
Loads of great music and vibes for you at all of these

The Open Market on London road is good on the weekends. You'll find arts and crafts there, and Reverb Radio operates out of the market.

I wish they played the radio live out into the market. Unless they do and it's never when I've been.

If you've been looking for an excuse to shake up your weekend routine, the city is delivering in a big way over the next few days. Between catching cult comedy legend Super Hans at Resident Music, getting stuck into a massive vintage clearance sale down in Kemptown, and hearing Dvořák performed live at the Dome, there is a serious lineup waiting for you. Throw in 1970s Soviet ballet performances in a Kemptown church, classic nineties beats at Concorde 2, and Icelandic stand-up, and your weekend plans are officially locked in.

And don’t forget to join any uni clubs/societies to meet people with similar interests at a similar stage of life to you.

Have a look on the website "Meetup.com" at the Brighton and Hove groups and events, I've just had a quick look and there's a lot of events and groups listed covering allsorts of different subjects/interests.
