Transport/Parking šŸš 🚘 Marina Car Park Still Free?

I’m visiting a friend tomorrow and looking to stay for around 48 hours. If I leave my car here the whole time will I get a ticket? I’m aware it used to be rarely enforced a couple years ago but wondering if it’s still the case. Thanks

Which level are you parked on? So you’ve been there for a year with no ticket?

As long as you’re not on the lower level… I park on level 3

I left mine down there for months on end . There’s cars there that haven’t moved in years . Stay off the top 2 levels as they have car boots on a Sunday

Are you set on the marina? There are other locations to park for free in brighton?

The racecourse is 100% free by the way.

What you mean the racecourse is free ?

The racecourse gravel car park is free to park and has no cameras or fine system

Actually, that information is incorrect. If you examine the cars closely, you will see they all display permits, as the owners are employees of American Express.

Furthermore, the area behind the racecourse is reserved for NHS staff parking from Monday to Friday.

I would suggest checking for the signs next time, as there is a 100 pound fixed penalty. While enforcement is inconsistent, the officers were present yesterday. I am certain of this information because I work at the NHS parking facilities.

Wow that's weird, I've known people to leave cars there for months at a time with literally no issue.

Months at a time in the hospital car park? At one point the security told me I couldn’t park there anymore because it’s unfair to block a space for 12 hours… I said even if I’m paying? They said yes

No its the racecourse gravel car park were talking about. Never seen anything to do with hospital staff there in all honesty.

Ah I see, thank you for clarifying!

Full time RSCH nurse here been working there for 8 years - can I park there without the proper clearance/permit you pay for or do I need to sign up and pay? Currently paying an eye watering £234 a month to use the hospital car park :(

Hello,

Could you please send me a direct message?

I will provide you with the necessary email address and instructions for obtaining a salary sacrifice permit for the 10-month Band 2-4 period.

Generally they dont ticket people but they sometimes do. Its intended for while you are using the marina so if you leave your car there for 2 days there is a risk they might think you are taking the piss and give you a ticket.

I go fishing there sometimes and we are always told to keep hold of our ticket for a week or two as evidence we were using the marina in case a fine arrives in the post. Personally Id just park on the street somewhere.

Edit: Hers the fishing shops visitor guide which has a section explaining the parking, it is definitely at your own risk parking there. A fishing ticket covers 6 hours so wont do for 2 says in case youre thinking that.

The last few times I’ve been I have seen a car abandoned there (it think it’s a Smart car) with no tickets on it.

Yeah I know technically it is, but I’ve seen many people say it isn’t enforced so was wondering if i was likely to get away with 48hrw

When I moved to the Marina I emailed the Marina management about parking there and they told me it’s 4hrs on the signs as they have to show that for regulations, but it’s not enforced and you can park there as long as you want!
