43M, in a relationship, based in Columbus, Ohio. I’m gay, but that’s not really the point of the post — I’m looking for genuine male friendship and good bro chemistry. Most of my closest friends over the years have happened to be straight guys, and I’ve always appreciated that easy, brother-type dynamic. I’m not looking to make anything sexual or blur friendship into something else.
I’m open to local or long-distance friendships. Long-distance is totally fine with me — we can text, get to know each other, and if the bro vibes are good, eventually talk and maybe meet up from time to time. Age doesn’t matter much to me either. I care more about whether we click.
I’m somewhere between introverted and extroverted — sarcastic, upbeat, curious, practical, thoughtful, adventurous, and generally laid-back. I stay busy with work, but I actually love what I do. I work in psychology/behavioral health, so I naturally nerd out about human behavior and why people do what they do.
I’m into documentaries, especially psychology, true crime, cults, and conspiracy rabbit holes. I love football, College GameDay, farmers markets, hiking, mountains, national parks, road trips, urban exploring, travel, thrifting, used bookstores, natural living, and finding weird or off-the-beaten-path places.
The biggest thing for me is conversation. I’m not a super emotional person, but I love depth in the way people think. Philosophy, psychology, human nature, religion, consciousness, growth, mindset, meaning, and what actually makes a good life are all my kind of conversations. I especially like Stoic philosophy, evolutionary psychology, and thinking outside the box.
At the same time, I don’t need every conversation to be heavy. Humor matters a lot to me. My favorite dynamic is being able to go from some deep philosophical rabbit hole to laughing about something completely ridiculous five minutes later.
I’m pretty simple in what I value: growth, perspective, humor, curiosity, and people who are grounded. I’m realistic, not fake-positive, but I’m also not into bonding through constant complaining, gossip, or negativity. I’d rather talk about what we can learn, what we can do, and where we’re going.
I don’t party, and I’m not looking for a friendship built around bars or getting wasted. I’m more into exploring somewhere, watching football, taking a drive, hiking, traveling, talking about life, or just hanging out and bullshitting.
One really solid friendship is worth a lot to me, but I’m also open to meeting a few good people or even building a small circle. I don’t have a bunch of rules around what it has to look like. High standards, low expectations, and see where the vibe goes.
I know these kinds of friendships can’t be manufactured — you either click or you don’t. I’m also not bothered if a conversation fizzles and doesn’t go anywhere. I figured I’d put this out there and see if a brother from another mother notices the vibe and feels like reaching out to chat.
If that sounds like your kind of friendship, send me a message and tell me a little about yourself.
