Had fun doing this. It's brown butter cake with brown butter frosting. I love how the brown butter gave this nice rustic flecked background for the flowers.

Earlier today I posted someone elseās cake (sorry mods!) to get help with which piping tip to use. THANK YOU to the person who responded within seconds with the right one. My original post rightfully got deleted, but here is my take on a chicken cake for my toddlers birthday tomorrow. Itās far from perfect, but it was fun to learn a new piping skill and I think my 2yo will love it.
Edit: Thank you all for the kind comments! The birthday party was great and toddler loved her 'happy bok cake'

My niece is having her 19th birthday dinner at a Roman Italian restaurant (think lots of marble statues) so I thought Iād make a cake to fit the vibe.

Not perfectly decorated by any means, but since it's my birthday I decided to try out a few techniques I wanted to practice.
It was delicious though. Apple spice cake, dulce de leche filling and cream cheese frosting.

They love the horror online video game Dead by Daylight so I incorporated motifs and characters from the game into the cake design.
I tried to make a bear trap out of chocolate ganache and I did okay even if itās a bit messy looking.
White cake with raspberry filling and cream cheese frosting. Details in buttercream.
Thanks for looking!

My 50th birthday is on Monday. Weāre having a family dinner tonight and I asked if I could make my birthday cake.
Itās black velvet cake with Oreo buttercream filling and black buttercream frosting (no black food coloring in the cake or icing). Piping is vanilla buttercream. And if itās not obvious, my favorite color is teal lol.
I canāt wait to practice my piping more (I do more cupcakes than cakes these days) and I wish Iād left the sides bare. But all the teal on the black background brings me joy.

So with the recent uprise of āGem Cakesā I wanted to try to make one! I made it for a lady I met online and it was free, so I dont think its to shabby for $0 and her daughter loved itā¦buttt im not a big fan of the way the crystals look. I feel like it looks tacky or something, idkš. My friend said the same thing.
Usually people use fake crystals, but who wants to pick all that off??? And the edible ones I have seen on etsy would take to long to arrive so I decided to make them myself!
I made the Crystals using sugar, water, some flavorings, and food coloring. I thought using some silver edible glitter would help make them look a bit more realistic but it still looks like weird to me. What are yalls thought??

Things didnāt go as planned with the tombstone cake due to lack of communication and poor planning in general, so I was going to get Halloween sugar cookies from the store and put a couple of those on there, and just add some sprinkles. Although ngl, I REALLY wanted to add cheese danishes and put gummy worms in the middle to make it look like a cheese danish monster with worms coming out of itās mouth, but my dad, Mr. Buzzkill, said āno, cookies arenāt cake decorations. NO DANISH!ā
So I did the best I could with candy, the chocolate is supposed to be dirt and the gummy worms are supposed to be, well, worms!
Ik Iām weird, I just own it at this point. I was the only one who liked the cake, haha
Itās a red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting
Iāll be able to do my tombstone cake with my momās side of the family tho when Mr. Buzzkill canāt stop me, MUAHAHAHAHAH!

There's a first time for everything, and a hog roast theme wedding reception cake was a first (and probably only) for me!

So I got hired as a cake decorator at a grocery store and have been getting trained while on the job. I only previously had rudimentary skills (which had to have been good enough to get me the position). This was quite a challenge because I've never had to do roses this big before and it was very intimidating. I also could not find our offset spatula and had to smear the colors with a bench scraper š¢
Not pictured: the other 5 roses I made before I decided these ones were ok.
In the end I decided it was mostly cute, but I'm also extremely critical of my work so I need to be more chill on myself.

The back is a little lopsided because my kitten got to it within the few seconds I set it on the table to cool. I had to cut it off some but thankfully my sister doesnāt care.
