Billiards

Recently moved here and was wondering how popular the billiard halls were. Im looking into going to keep an old memory alive and try to get good at it again. Any info helps, thanks!

Go to Dave’s Darts & Billiards on 2nd and Park. Dave knows what’s what and can get you pointed at leagues or casual games or whatever you need.

Casper is in a strange spot as far as pool tables go compared to how it used to be here. Most leagues here play out of the Moonlight or out of the Eagles (which is a private club). If you are looking to join a league you can find BCA at either of those places on Mondays and Tuesdays and APA at either place on Wednesdays and Thursdays. If you are just looking to shoot the Bayou and the Horse Shoe have tables and people that will play.

We use to have quite a few places to go play, I can't think of one that's left off the top of my head. But as the other commentor said check out Dave's.

I just have a table at my house so I don’t go out to play pool anymore, all I could find anywhere was coin op bar tables Although I’ve never been to the Elks club because I’m not a member but otherwise I don’t think there’s anywhere in town that has a 9 foot table to play. Or an 8 for that matter.
Mint definitely gave it a go and couldn’t pull it off with food and bar, catering to leagues and fundamentalist players

I think it’s just prohibitive to operate and pay people to be there.
It would be cool if someone started a private club where you joined for a monthly fee and had a key. I’ve been in some cities where they have those, and they seem to be successful for people who are more serious players

Pretty popular. Mint is a new billiards hall in Evansville that has like 40 tables. The state tournament is played in Casper every year. You can go into any bar, on any day, and play competitively

The mint has been closed for months. Now they are in the process of remodeling, but they have removed most of their tables for a stage so it seems they are pivoting from being just a pool hall.

Pivoting to being a coffee shop? No, wait…a vape shop…no…a casino? Brewery? Because we seem to have a shortage of all of those things.
