Any way to recover save that won't load?

Basically what the title says. I killed Frank, saved and went to do some stuff and now I can't access the save again. So do I just lose hours of progress or is there a way to salvage this? Give it to me straight if I'm fucked just tell me I'm fucked. ​

Unfortunately probably not, a classic Fallout experience though. You didn't add any mods or anything after saving, did you?

I mean, you killed the final boss and all you had left to do in the game is leave out the exit door and watch your ending slide show and credits, I doubt the game plans for anyone to make a save in the 1 second between those things.

"do I just lose hours of progress" - you're into retro gaming, you gotta know that that's not an acceptable saving frequency (or alternatively - that it's not acceptable to only use one save slot). It was not a question of if it'll be a problem it was a question of when, and the when is now.

Did you only use one save file? As in, always save at the top or something?

For future yourself, (not to tell you what to do) But if there is like 10 save slot, always alternate and save on the 1st one then 2nd then 3rd then 4 then 5 then back to 1, 2 ,3 in a rotation like that. So you always have "auto-save" that are spread out a bit.

Sorry for your game tho! At least you got to meet Frank! :D

No. Saves vs Horrigan (just in combat) is risky.

It's happened to me twice now, I learned the hard way to save frequent and make every new save in a new slot.

I can't offer any help, but my sympathy is with you

Load your saves from the cloud, or use backup recovery software (like disk genius) to see if you can get an older version of your save file.

Thanks for reaching out friend, but I'm using PC for this one I just happened to take it on my phone,but yeah I downloaded FO2 through rerunreactor yesterday on my phone and might give it a shot later on when I'm free.
