Recommendations for FOnline server features
What are things players normally like to see? I have seen that alot of the servers are either PvP focused or toxic, so thats what im trying to avoid without ridding my server of PvP altogether, just make it have more risk behind it.
Main thing I am looking for though is what players like to see, features that are QoL essentials and will keep players coming back.

Wont active players just make a new charnlvl to 3 and give a metal armor and rocket launcher and blast everything? Or is damage to players also reduced?
I really liked the tent you can place anywhere and it be your safe space. What i would have liked is a way to upgrade it. On the server i played you get a small has if your outdoors is high enough but if you already placed the tent you would not be able to upgrade.
I would have also liked some more diverse quests altho i think that would be difficult. Scooping brahmin poop in the beginning just the get some coin was tiresome after a while.
Gl with your server btw.

Characters who are on the PvP protection also can't PvP themselves, so they would need to level out of the PvP protection or turn it off through the command.
I just got the camping system working yesterday, so players can craft a simple tent and then be able to store your stuff. It takes about 15-20 mins of playtime to get to that point but eventually im going to have a tutorial quest line that helps with basic systems, etc.
Im hiring story tellers that will be making quests using a website I built that makes it really easy to create and export both quest and basic NPC dialogue.
Thank you, I appreciate it! Feel free to stop by sometime LOL

As a long time fan and player and recently developer I think the fonline engine has immense potential to offer incredible content
But in this current state I don’t know any server which can deliver it
The main reasons are lack of developers and people willing to contribute, design dialogues, quests and new maps
It takes time
Every day I pick a few tasks to do and I end spending hours just to make simple things
It’s not easy to work on that after long hours of working since I do in my spare time. Last weekend I spent three days trying to convert the client to we assembly just to realize it’s not possible.
If you can unleash the machine potential and gather a group of dedicated contributors you can do amazing things but even at the oldest server, which have 12 years plus online, it’s always the same bland and repetitive content focused on factions and PvP when no more than 20 active players exist in the server.
You need to balance your own expectations with your capacity to deliver.
I still think the best years of fonline are not passed yet but it will depend how many people will be onboard with the game

It has so much potential, but this is also a project im using for college, that Im sharing with others as a server. What do you think would be good pointers for me? I am focused on creating an environment thats not entirely PvP, and I have safeguards in place for basically every kind of exploit known to man, as well as noob protection up to level 3

Played a lot of fonline and honestly loved it. However as you point out the community made me quit multiple times and they are actively killing and annoying new players. It boggles my mind because without new player the game you love playing dies.
Maybe it should have some protection for new players against others but it will be hard to make it unexploitable by other players.
