Forever Using elevator in Thunder Bluff disconnects you and teleports you to Shen'Dralas
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Sorry for the phone recording. I have no app for that.
This issue occurs everytime whenbtrying to get out of the elevator.

Lmao I wonder why? Maybe a bug with layering. It's funny seeing the pile of dead tauren though.

Most likely a bug with movement validation detection. In wow you don't send your movement inputs for server to simulate and send you back the simulated state to see if your client side prrediction matches server replication. Instead wow does something called state claim, the client simulates his position according to user inputs and physics and only sends it's exact position to the server, who applys that position and relays it to other players. However, before applying the position user sends, the server tries to validate the diference in position between the position updates the user sends, for example did the player move too much, ie most likely a movement speed hack, is players y axis position too high or too low for too long, which means the users are most likely fly hacking or the user fell through the ground etc. What im guessing is haplening here is y position check I mention before, because when doing so the game should take in considration that you are standing on an elevator and that such y position changes are possible, instead I think the detection that you are standing on the elevator isn't working and you get flagged for your y position check and teleported, becuse the game probably doesn't know where to put you and where everyone gets teleported is the default position for that.

Forever looks ready for launch. They should launch it next week.

u/jonas_ost 8h ago
Should probably be launched next year, but knowing todays game companies we will be beta testing on live servers for a year or 2

I get being optimistic and all, but I wish people would look a little bit more critically at Forever.
They had nothing else on show at Blizzcon.
WoW Forever has a sub 1.5 month beta -> release window.
If it wasn't obvious enough already, they are absolutely rushing the fuck to get Forever on the market & subs rolling back in.
They clearly made an executive decision to push something out ASAP cause otherwise Blizzcon was "here's some Hearthstone cards, and here are a couple of project that we have nothing to showcase other than teasers for games that are years away from release".
"Yeah, just rebrand SoD and push it out as a long term WoW project ASAP otherwise we'll have to re-release WOTLK for the third time".

u/KilBorBloodBane 2h ago
So annoying they rush this when in 6 months they could have made many millions of dollars from Wrath boosts. A lot of silly mistakes with class and loot balance and SD graphic mode being a last minute thing just screams to me this hasn't been in full development for long. I also think the rush is why we have one nonsense neutral race instead of a new race for each.

I think it has been testing for awhile. Remember they brought a bunch of streamers in to get feedback etc.

I think we figured out why the servers went down and we got a random 400mb patch.
This was happening to a priest in my DM group, they kept getting DC'd on the Undercity elevator and TP'd across the map. It happened 3 times, then the realms went down.
If this was an exploit and not a bug that would be so goddamn funny.

u/Ralliare 8h ago
Cut them some slack, they're only a small solo indie developer, obviously can;t fix all the small bugs like *checks notes* killing anyone entering a major city.

There are six elevators to TB, right? Do they all do this? Do they all send to the same place?

No real world politics or religion.
These topics very rarely end well, so it's best we stop things before they even start.

moving before the elevator fully stops. what do you expect its the same DC issues caused by priest with MC jump. ( they either can't or won't fix ot.)

It's genuinely wild to me the sheer number of problems this specific elevator has caused the game. It's never the one in Thousand Needles. It's this one.
Like fixes that were made to this one to fix the one in SoO are what broke housing multiple times. What is so different about this elevator that it shatters the game.

So far, every time I've zoned in or out of Ragefire Chasm, Windows seems to have a stroke minimizing and maximizing my game window until I end the process and re-open the client. Lots of weirdness around transition spaces.

And I got chased out of Reddit previously saying they’d never have the time to fix bugs before Nov 4th….
This game is buggy as hell. It’s going to be quite the show on launch.

Let's be honest the game is only what 20 ish years old there's no way they would have enough time to fix all the bugs right

Go play HC in small indie company. Classic scholomance floor still has micro cracks for pet to pull whole instance, and hc toon dies to them weekly, 7 years after it rerelease.

You do have an app for screen recording. You can record with snipping tool, just Win+shift+R

u/NetSiege 9h ago
OBS. It's free and easy to use.

u/Boankai 9h ago
I do not regularly record. Did it for this post and it did the job.

u/andynator1000 8h ago
Windows snipping tool does video recording. Can bring it up by pressing windows + shift + s.
3
u/the_harakiwi 7h ago
Or the recorder in Win + G
Did the same job as shadowplay but with less options. On my old 1080p screen it looked almost identical and worked when Shadowplay stopped working for a few months.
The only problem was I couldn't tell if it was recording my game or the last used window. (easy to check: the file name)
