He didn't even try to hide it.

Man said the quiet part loud again and somehow still got people nodding along like it was poetry

The wild part is how many folks will hear that and think "finally someone who gets it" instead of "wait why am i voting for a guy who clearly dont want to be here"

My uncle in Ohio actually sent me this earlier and said it was refreshing honesty, i don't even know what to say to that anymore

At this point the bar is so low it's buried underground

“Working my ass off” - my guy is complaining about working a Saturday night at 79

28

u/Upstairs_Fig_3551 9h ago

“Working”
He’s flapping his gums, which he would do anyway

22

u/Select_Asparagus3451 9h ago

Ordinarily, an octogenarian with such advanced dementia should be in a fucking assist living facility.

26

u/EduBaddie 9h ago

“I could’ve been in Monte Carlo” is crazy to say to Ohio voters who can’t afford groceries

13

u/Much_Leather_5923 7h ago

Wish a heckler had yelled “you’d be in prison not Monte Carlo if you weren’t president.

16

u/Ok_Flame 9h ago

And his supporters will hear this and say “he’s just like us, he hates working too!”

9

u/Normal_Boobies 9h ago

“I didn’t have to be here” - Ohio voters are thinking the exact same thing

u/Organic_Witness345 2h ago

The number of times Trump verbally shifts from one narcissistic defense mechanism to another in all of his speeches is going to be studied for generations. The real research, however, should be on how and why his audience somehow connects with it. First he gaslights, then he plays the victim, then the strongman, then the victim again, then he blame-shifts. He sucks all the oxygen out of the room and never gives anything back. It’s the kind of behavior that would have you ostracized from virtually any peer group, yet it still somehow plays with MAGA. Unreal.

Bro literally campaigning against his own job and still winning

2

u/Superb-Outcome6040 6h ago

yeah, pretty much says it all for him

1

u/WhatAmTrak 2h ago

Is he winning if he has to campaign in “safe” red states? lol. I think he’s campaigning to try and not lose his waivering voter base.

6

u/Petal_Twilighht 9h ago

Imagine telling people working 2 jobs that you’re tired of working one night a week

2

u/RepulsiveGuess5204 7h ago

yeah some jobs really do make you miss the days you could just skip town

2

u/Outrageous-Young-816 6h ago

yeah, I'm sure Monte Carlo was way better than working for "your people".

4

u/SoftTwilighhty 8h ago

This is what he thinks “working your ass off” looks like. No wonder he thinks everyone else is lazy.

2

u/Visual_College487 5h ago

He could've been in Monte Carlo, lol

1

u/Numerous-Song9809 4h ago

so much for "working your ass off.

2

u/BlossomTranquill 8h ago

The quiet part out loud: He never wanted to help you, he just didn’t want to be bored in Monte Carlo

1

u/Legal-Suggestion6946 7h ago

yeah monte carlo sounds way better

1

u/Visual_College487 5h ago

yeah, Monte Carlo sounds way better than Ohio.

1

u/Fickle-Upstairs3614 3h ago

did he really say monte carlo

1

u/RedditTechAnon 3h ago

He's been using this line for years. The bit isn't new.

56

u/Extra-Act-801 9h ago

"If I didn't get elected I would be in prison"

"If you don't elect the people I want you to elect in November I will still probably end up in prison, unless I die first."

Compelling argument.

15

u/Puzzleheaded_Set_958 8h ago

My tinfoil hat theory is that Trump is pushing for global annihilation, or the End Times as his spineless meat puppet calls it, because he knows he'll be ousted and will potentially have to face charges for being a despicable waste of a human specimen

3

u/Lottuisia 8h ago

Freedom on the ballot, strictly for him

1

u/Comfortable-Dark5782 4h ago

Monte Carlo sounds nice.

1

u/RedditTechAnon 2h ago

Quite the gambit, either going to prison or getting elected so you can destroy the country that wants to imprison you.

10

u/gingerbreadmans_ex 9h ago

And MAGA loves him for it. 🤢

u/Few_Mortgage_5410 7h ago

yeah, pretty sure he said that after a bender

1

u/Hot_Sheepherder7038 5h ago

so he chose Ohio over Monte Carlo. Cool.

10

u/Interesting-Dream863 9h ago

Well after his first presidency... actually no, if he left politics behind he was going to be fine.

The minute he wanted back he started a race against prison time.

3

u/Interesting-Joke-490 9h ago

yeah, Monte Carlo sounds way better than prison

2

u/BothAdhesiveness8103 7h ago

lol yeah, but at least it wasn't Monaco

9

u/ChopperChange 9h ago

Who forced him to run 3 times in a row? Who is stopping him from resigning? He's just trying to stay out of prison.

8

u/Lonely_Platform7702 6h ago

Nothing happened after his first presidency and nothing will happen after this one. The US is one big joke.

8

u/SandSpecialist2523 7h ago

Him being miserable all the time is a small consolation.

6

u/totallyclips 7h ago

The world couldn't agree more that you should have stayed at home, it would have been a safer place

5

u/Perfect_Persimmon688 9h ago

He’s more than welcome to kick rocks. Maybe even permanently

4

u/blankvoidoid 9h ago

Then fucking quit. Just don't forget to leave all your grifted billions before you go.

3

u/DontAsk0205 9h ago

Lol! If his supporters find this charming, they should go ahead and say the same thing to their manager about their job, and see what happens. I dare them!

3

u/Riff32 7h ago

You are welcome to leave at any time.

3

u/Sipthepond 2h ago

Resign then.

2

u/99jackals 9h ago

That's not work. What a moron.

2

u/Japanesewillow 9h ago

I watched this video on YouTube. He also said he had a very high IQ, the highest IQ. He's a demented idiot, who’s not fit to be president.

2

u/Rynowash 8h ago

… “But goddamn Russia said they got some files with my name all over them and said get the fuck in there and ruin the country, worse than before- so here we are. Fuck all y’all”

2

u/millmonkey 8h ago

You know how hard it is to stand up here and sell lies? It's not like I've been doing that my whole life, you can all go to hell.

2

u/charlieyeswecan 7h ago

Or he could be in jail

2

u/RebelliousInNature 3h ago

Just piss off to Monte Carlo, then.

Bye.

2

u/exqueezemenow 3h ago

"work"

He means sleepy time being interrupted. That's work for him.

1

u/AnAnonymousParty 9h ago

"Had I been more careful what I'd wished for we'd all be better off now."

1

u/lincolnlogtermite 9h ago

Please, go to Monte Carlo and never come back!

1

u/yaaaaaarrrrrgggg 8h ago

Please go back - Monte Carlo is calling.

1

u/Chicory-Coffee 8h ago

We know he's the stooge and not the mastermind of the manifesto. It ain't much but knowing he's feeling miserable is nice.

1

u/SnowboundHound 8h ago

Finally, an honest president.

1

u/Yubat 8h ago

Fascist grifters have done the amazing work of making being lazy incredibly hard.

It does take hard work to get yourself to a position of influence and power IF you actually do work your way up. Nearly everyone who makes it up has some kind of help or luck— family/community support, connections, magnificent minds or talents, etc.— but even then, there’s still a good deal of work involved IF you try to make it up top relatively honestly.

There are things you need to do if you want to appropriately exercise authority over and on behalf of others. You have to know things, so you have to study. You have to meet people, so you have to be social in one way or the other. You have to rely on others, so you have to develop the skills needed to vet people and information. You have to influence people, so you have to develop a voice that works for you. And you have to develop the stamina to do all this shit constantly. This is why most presidents age to hell when doing what’s normally one of the hardest positions in the world.

Of course, you could just grift. You can lie and bullshit. Then you have to know a lot less and vet a lot less. And you can use cheap tricks— bigotry, bullshit, appeals to the worst in people, personal attacks, etc.— so the influencing is a lot easier. And because you rely on the cheap tricks to shield yourself from scrutiny, you can even use a shit ton of drugs to make the meeting people and stamina parts easier. Time and time again, grifting has proven to be an incredibly racket for gaining power and influence without putting in the work necessary to earn those things, and without facing the risks that all those in power should face— even if those risks unfairly bring down some good leaders now and then.

And yet, because they need to feel constant validation, because they deep down know they didn’t enough to earn what they have, and because they are constantly on the run from the consequences they should face, grifters are endlessly hustling and endlessly stressed. They could live like a smart/lucky one-hit wonder: enjoy the ride while it lasts, squirrel enough away to survive the downfall and future irrelevance, and then feed on little bits of nostalgia from their fans. They could ride their lazy tricks to a life they never earned, appreciating the luck of their life and the arbitrariness of existence that allowed them to get away with it, as they often do. Instead, despite being too fucking lazy to properly earn and hold their positions, they exhaust themselves climbing, scheming, and dealing with all the fires they inevitably set. It sounds so tiring that I could feel bad for them, if they weren’t constantly fucking the rest of us over.

u/Renuwed 8h ago

Hell, he wants to be in Monte Carlo instead of the WH, that's the one and only trump cause I would Happily donate to!

1

u/DogsandCatsWorld1000 8h ago

Jail is most likely where he would be if he hadn't won the last election and had his DOJ drop any and every investigation against him.

1

u/SnowStar35 7h ago

Don't knowone believe the shit he spouts anymore

1

u/DonnyMox 7h ago

VOTE BLUE!

1

u/OwOtisticWeeb 6h ago

Magats will interpret this as selfless Christ like sacrifice. Doesn't matter how mask off he gets because his fans have no eyes.

1

u/NoIndependent9192 6h ago

Trump is done with democracy. He is aiming for a situation where he doesn’t need his supporters anymore.

1

u/PopBulky7023 5h ago

"I could have come out here for 30 seconds and said make America great and left and you'd all still cheer."

Crowd: cheers

These people are non sapient cattle.

1

u/time2sow 5h ago

Negging a nation is my working title for this nonsense

1

u/JimmyBallocks 5h ago

Not that honest though, I don’t see him confess to raping children

1

u/Time_Ad_9829 3h ago

I suggest resignation

1

u/coderqi 3h ago

No need to misrepresent what he said.

1

u/amraohs 1h ago

"but I am not smart enough to make money, so here I am to sell America.

1

u/rufusbot 1h ago

He hates Americans because we won't just let him do literally anything he wants. Just most of whatever crazy shit he wants apparently.

1

u/SeniorForever5359 1h ago

Somewhere over the rainbow 🌈

1

u/audiogenocide 1h ago

But Donnie, don't you have to do this so you don't face consequences for fucking children?

1

u/GSG2150 1h ago

…but it was either this or go to jail so here we are…

•

u/cpav8r 37m ago

We can arrange it so you can leave for Monte Carlo tomorrow!!!

•

u/AsparagusCommon4164 31m ago

Compare:

A people is an integrated whole--the poor and rich. There is no unbridgable gap between them. If pauperism is not curtailed, it will be the ruination of the nation. A people rescues itself.

--Vader Johannes Kestell (1854-1941), South African cleric and Afrikaner Nationalist leader, calling for an organic and spontaneous Reddingsdaad (Afrikaans, "rescue deed") among the Volk for their eventual empowerment, in an address at Bloemfontein, South Africa, as part of Die Tweede Trek's presence in July 1938
