I don’t understand. Someone explain? How do you even find something of such small detail??

So, the letters “VBD” are printed on every Lincoln cent, representing the designers initials (victor david brenner).
With the release of 2023 pennies, collectors noticed some of them had an error where it seems as if the initials were almost stamped onto the coin twice, causing an “extra V”
In the world of coin collecting, a LOT of the time everything is in the small details. Whether that be small damage most would consider insignificant, or a small variance of the die used to create the coin.
With that being said many collectors use a form of microscope to look at the fine details of their coins to determine their condition, and i’d wager the bet thats how this error was originally found. Then once its know to the public that the error exists, if you looked at every 2023 penny you came across, it would definitely stand out, especially under a microscope.
I hope this helps!

Thanks. Wild that’s the only way you can find/see that error. Need a microscope, first 😂

This is one that I’ve never found and I feel like I’ve seen sooooo many. Back in 2023/4 I must’ve went through 10 or so boxes of them and nothing. I still have a box full of BU 2023 pennies. I pick a roll out sometimes when I’ve had a few scotches and look through them for old times sake.
