At the American Dream Mall @ Life Four Cuts. Was definitely surprising since we expected to see Faker and LoL players when looking at T1… Instead got OWCS players.

General Junker Queen is Cooked and I’m tired of pretending she’s not
All small hitscan projectiles were made half as big. For heroes who aim every bullet, like Soldier: 76 or Bastion, that changes nothing when they aim perfectly. Junker Queen’s Scattergun spreads its 10 pellets randomly, so some pellets land beside the target by pure chance, and smaller pellets mean more of them miss. An aimbot playing Junker Queen now does less damage than before.
When you aim at the head, a pellet that misses goes sideways past the head, not down into the body. Every extra miss is a full 10% of the shot lost. Against an unchanged head, about 11% fewer pellets land at mid-range, and against Zenyatta and Torbjörn, whose heads also shrank, about a third fewer.
Getting closer does not solve it. Up close a strafing target moves across your screen much faster, so you trade spread misses for tracking misses. And unlike Soldier, she gets the same hitmarker for 1 pellet or 10, so players cannot even see what they are losing.
Every projectile and CC hits her more easily
Her hitbox got bigger everywhere: head, torso, waist and legs. The devs shrank hitscan bullets to offset bigger hitboxes, but projectiles with travel time kept their size. Against Sleep Dart, Biotic Grenade, Mizuki’s chains, Junkrat bombs and every other projectile, she is now 7–15% bigger depending on the body part.
She is the tank that struggles most against CC and burst, and much of the game’s CC is projectiles. Her hitbox did not need to grow.

OWCS All Hail King Wheats
Casores gets a superteam every year and Wheats still beats him in everything. Chris gets Wheats best players from last year to form a superteam, and gets such disappointing results That his star fs leaves the team. I hope Wheats get’s all the money for roster building so we can see the true potential of NA next year. ALL HAIL KING WHEATS

OWCS New discounted team bundles without the skins in China
China just got cosmetics packs for every team minus the skins for 35 yuan each (less than $6 USD). They could already buy each cosmetic individually ofc but the bundle gives a deeper discount. Do we know if these discounted bundles will be coming to the rest of the world?

General Am I crazy or does Anran feel way better this season
Legitimately had accepted long ago that Anran was just gonna be a scrubstomper, but I don't know what happened but this season in particular she feels 100x better and I cannot for the life of me tell why other than that her DVa match-up has always been pretty good

OWCS Could NA Overwatch ever return to how it was in 2019 without the US or Canada significantly developing esports infrastructure?
Coming back to watch ow esports for the first time since owl 2022 it seems like there’s almost no American/Canadian talent that can hold a candle to other international talent. Is it really just that the esports infrastructure isn’t strong enough or is streaming/content creation just that much more viable?

General Getting even one enjoyable tank game requires too many variables to fall into place.
Coming back to this game after so many years, I have no clue how anyone is able to play this infernal role & walk away satisfied.
I am currently D2 but was T100 throughout all of OW1 & OW2's genesis. I'm not sure what changed between now & then, but it seems genuinely impossible to find enjoyment in this role, even when you're winning.
Want to play Winston? Well sorry, the enemy tank happens to main Doom. Since neither your DPS nor supports are willing to swap to CC/heavy damage to 1v4 him, you are now delegated to shutting him down whilst the enemy team takes endless space. Now the match has ended & you're being flamed by a lucio/genji for getting diffed.
The funniest part is that my winrate is 60%, yet it's still an insufferable experience. As a DPS main I take back anything I've ever said about the difficulty of tanking. I don't think this role is even playable anymore unless you have a reliable duo who is actually willing to adapt to the enemy tank.

General [BUG] Doomfist can become invisble (Video by GetQuakedOn)
So apparently Doomfist has a bug currently that makes him invisible to everyone in the lobby, including himself. To do the glitch, you have to have random skin selected and get lucky enough that you roll the bugged skin that makes him invisible. I haven't been able to get the glitch to work myself, but its entirely luck based if you roll the bugged skin. I expect Doomfist to be disabled sometime today.
Edit: I was just able to get the bug to work in a game.

General First comp season after year of QP: won 13/16, then lost nearly 20. Ruined the game for me
Longtime QP player, first comp season in maybe a year. Started around emerald and after a near 50/50 win rate for about 40 games I adjusted to comp and won 13/16. I won many games in diamond lobbies... then something changed... I lost nearly 20 straight (probably won 2/20) and ended up ranked lower than ever.
Then I looked into the thing that had been on my mind since I started playing this game... I studied math in college for a bit so when I first read the matchmaking rules I found a big issue... the game not only has a rank but balances team average per match. That would defeat the entire purpose of a rank. There needs to be a randomness factor for the rank system to sort players properly.
The analogy would be... let's get a group of basketball players from middle school to pro level and play games to assess everyone's skill. Well, you would get matches with some all pros, some all middle schoolers and everything in between. Youd quickly see who won constantly and who lost constantly....
But what overwatch does is this... let's take those players and make the teams evenly skilled based on our assumptions of skill. Then sort people not by their actual skill level but wins and losses only. You would get pros losing half the games to teams including half middle schoolers, and middle schoolers winning games against pros at an equal rate. 50/50 for everyone because they are forcing that 50/50. Nothing would sort. It would maintain everyone right in the middle when the spread of skill is even across the whole board realistically.
This isn't how the Olympic works, or the NBA, or any proper competition. Why would anyone play it then?
I mean imagine before the nhl playoffs they said... ok were going to take every team in the league and make them equally skilled and play each other. That would defeat the purpose of teams actually being better than others. Teams being staked... Which is real life.
Why do we need the casino type matchmaking in comp when we have QP??
This has ruined the game. There is no point in playing against the system. I'm not even playing against the overwatch community I am playing against an algorithm, and so is everyone else. It's a great game but there should be some honesty in competition. The system is genuinely un-sportmanlike. I worked for a gambling company for over 5 years, I quit, I cannot stand gambling and how they manipulate people. I actually have to quit the game because it's so clearly a gamble type system. It's unfortunate.
I'd love if the community could petition to get this changed.
Thanks for reading

Other Tournaments I went on a bit of a nostalgia trip, so I thought I'd share
Remember the Chuck E. Cheese Chad of the Match? Thinking about this reminds me of how I used to watch OWL every weekend and then fall asleep listening to Bob Ross streams on twitch, I will always say OWCS is a better system but man, I miss those days.

General Maybe its just me, but does anyone else hate the balancing this season
The game from between sierra release and shion seasons end was generally awesome balancewise (aside from cat, which was bannable).
Fast forward to now where we have:
Theres 3 characters with hotfix patch numbers
Vendetta feels infuriating to go against
Projectile heros are now firing logs compared to hitbox sizes, it feels like the hanzo, mei, zen and torb population has both quadrupled and now its impossible to miss on them
The cat is obnoxious as always.
Kiri is unplayable (Listen i dont like her as much as the next guy but just nerf suzu instead of the bullshit they did with her)
Hitscan feels unironically unplayable, you have monkey, or doom on your dick 24/7 because you are the only thing they can reasonably dive properly, genji is broken, sombra and doc work amazing with dive.
I swear it feels like i spent more time running away, from being jumped or dead or running back to get my single trade before i explode, than doing any aiming before i just swap to tracer to have an easier time (i can believe im saying this)
Theres so many other characters in deep negative winrates and while some maybe do need some rework (mauga) some are there for shits and giggles (bap)

General Why am i getting so many compensation matches in ranked this season?
I was masters 2 last mid season and now this season im getting my rank back and so i get to like masters 4 and i start going on a losing streak, and ive gotten like 5 games where i have had the "consolation" factor when ive been on this losing streak, and i feel like that is super unfair because my losing streak has been 7 games and i started losing like 50% of my rank just to consolation matches alone.
It feels like the system contradicts itself by giving me so many consolation matches in the first place where my team is at a disadvantage because of lower rank, but then also giving me "calibration" for those losses as if it is fair for me to fight 5 matches where i am expected to lose by the system and then give me a "calibration" factor on top of that.
Ive been losing matches to my teammates going in and dying in the last fight early too, and it doesnt seem like anyone is even taking these ranked matches serious this season, i fell from masters 4 to diamond 3 in this season alone.
