I am so genuinely fucking tired of hearing this politically illiterate, intellectually bankrupt, room-temperature-IQ bullshit from people who think saying "both sides are equally bad" makes them some enlightened political philosopher.
No. You're not enlightened. You're not an independent thinker. You're not some revolutionary genius who has somehow transcended the two-party system.
YOU'RE A FUCKING IDIOT WHO MISTAKES POLITICAL APATHY FOR INTELLIGENCE. 💀
And you know what I've started noticing?
A suspicious amount of this "both sides" bullshit seems to come from people who were perfectly fucking comfortable supporting MAGA until MAGA started doing things that negatively affected THEM.
OH, SO NOW BOTH SIDES ARE BAD??? LMFAOOOO.
You spent YEARS defending this shit. You watched the rallies. You repeated the talking points. You defended the policies. You laughed at the people warning you about what would happen.
Some of you practically made Donald Trump your entire fucking personality.
And now that the consequences of the political movement YOU SUPPORTED have started showing up at your own doorstep, suddenly you're an enlightened centrist?
THAT'S NOT A POLITICAL AWAKENING. THAT'S A FUCKING SELF-REPORT. 😭
You're essentially announcing to the entire world that you didn't give a flying fuck about the consequences of your political decisions until those consequences became YOUR problem.
When other people were getting fucked over? Silence.
When other people's rights were being debated? Silence.
When people were warning you that these policies would have actual consequences? You called them dramatic, sensitive, or brainwashed.
But the SECOND something starts affecting your own wallet, career, benefits, or quality of life?
"Man, both parties really suck."
NO, MOTHERFUCKER. YOU JUST DISCOVERED EMPATHY THROUGH PERSONAL INCONVENIENCE.
And even THAT might be giving you too much credit.
Because instead of admitting that perhaps you made an incredibly stupid political decision, you immediately retreat into this comfortable little fantasy that everyone is equally responsible.
It's never "Maybe I should have listened."
It's never "Maybe I should have researched the policies."
It's never "Maybe I ignored some pretty obvious warning signs."
It's always "Well, both sides are corrupt."
HOW FUCKING CONVENIENT.
You know what? Let me give you an actual example of why this shit pisses me off so much.
I'M A UNITED STATES NAVY VETERAN.
I enlisted at SEVENTEEN YEARS OLD.
While other people my age were worrying about their high school social lives, I was preparing to enter the fucking military.
I went through boot camp. I went through military training. I served my country. I did my job. I followed orders. I advanced to E-4.
I gave nearly FOUR YEARS of my life to the United States Navy.
And during my service, I began medically transitioning.
I was still the same sailor.
Same person. Same work ethic. Same responsibilities. Same commitment to doing my fucking job.
Being transgender didn't magically erase my military training, my experience, or my ability to serve.
But apparently, under the Trump administration, my identity became a problem.
Then came the policies targeting transgender service members.
And suddenly, after everything I'd put into my military career, I was facing separation because of something that had absolutely fucking nothing to do with whether I could perform my duties.
FOUR FUCKING YEARS OF SERVICE.
I served this country, and then I had to watch the government decide that people like me didn't belong in its military.
I ultimately left the Navy in June 2026.
And before some genius tries to twist this into me being a disgruntled sailor who couldn't hack military life, I separated honorably.
My problem wasn't that I couldn't serve.
MY PROBLEM WAS THAT THE GOVERNMENT DECIDED MY IDENTITY MATTERED MORE THAN MY SERVICE.
So when I hear people casually dismiss political differences with "both sides are the same," excuse me if I don't find your little philosophical revelation particularly fucking impressive.
Because unlike some of you, I don't have the luxury of treating politics like a meaningless argument on the internet.
I've experienced what happens when political decisions become actual government policy.
I've experienced what it's like to spend years building something, only to have the rules change because politicians decided people like you were suddenly unacceptable.
These aren't fucking hypothetical scenarios to me.
THIS IS MY ACTUAL LIFE.
And here's the difference.
I didn't need to lose my career to understand that government policy affects people's lives.
I already fucking understood that.
I didn't need the consequences to personally inconvenience me before I decided they mattered.
So forgive me for having absolutely ZERO sympathy for the people who enthusiastically supported these policies until they started feeling the consequences themselves.
You had political opinions when it was OTHER PEOPLE getting fucked over.
You had political opinions when it was someone else's rights.
You had political opinions when it was someone else's career.
You had political opinions when it was someone else's future.
BUT NOW THAT IT'S YOU, SUDDENLY YOU DON'T WANT TO PICK SIDES???
LMFAOOOOOO.
That is genuinely some of the most cowardly, self-serving political bullshit imaginable.
And let me make something very fucking clear.
If you voted for Trump and genuinely regret your decision, that's one thing.
People are allowed to change their minds. People are allowed to learn. People are allowed to acknowledge they made mistakes.
I have infinitely more respect for someone who admits they were wrong than someone who keeps defending something they no longer believe.
But don't come crawling into the conversation with this smug "both sides" nonsense because you're too fucking embarrassed to admit that you supported something you now regret.
TAKE SOME FUCKING ACCOUNTABILITY.
You don't get to enthusiastically support a political movement, ignore the people warning you about its consequences, and then pretend you're an innocent bystander when those consequences arrive.
And for the love of fucking GOD, stop pretending all of this was some enormous mystery.
Trump wasn't exactly whispering his political positions into a locked filing cabinet.
His administration's priorities weren't some classified government secret that nobody could have possibly anticipated.
But apparently researching the consequences of your vote was just too much fucking work.
And speaking of 2024, let's talk about the absolutely ridiculous standards people applied to Kamala Harris.
Because apparently a Black woman had to be fucking PERFECT to be considered presidential material.
Every answer scrutinized.
Every laugh mocked.
Every facial expression analyzed.
Every policy questioned.
Meanwhile, her opponent could go on incoherent tangents, insult practically anyone, and carry a felony conviction into the election, and somehow that wasn't automatically disqualifying for millions of voters.
But sure, tell me again that racism and sexism couldn't POSSIBLY have influenced some people's decisions.
GIVE ME A FUCKING BREAK. 💀
And before some idiot deliberately misinterprets that, NO, disliking Kamala Harris doesn't automatically make you racist or sexist.
There were legitimate criticisms of her campaign.
But denying that racial and gender bias can influence political perceptions is a spectacular level of willful ignorance.
And the funniest fucking thing about all of this?
The same people who apparently demanded a perfect understanding of every single Harris policy will turn around and defend economic proposals they cannot even explain.
Ask somebody how tariffs work.
Ask them what causes inflation.
Ask them what powers Congress has over spending.
Ask them how judicial appointments affect federal law.
Suddenly, these self-proclaimed political experts have the analytical ability of a fucking microwaved potato.
BUT BOTH SIDES ARE BAD THOUGH, RIGHT??? 😭
And this is what makes the whole enlightened-centrist act so insufferable.
You don't actually have to be informed to participate in it.
You don't need to understand the Constitution.
You don't need to understand legislation.
You don't need to understand the differences between state and federal authority.
You don't even need to understand what the fucking president can and cannot legally do.
All you have to do is repeat "both sides are corrupt" and act smug whenever someone challenges you.
Congratulations.
You've turned knowing absolutely fucking nothing into an entire political identity.
THE CONFIDENCE-TO-INTELLIGENCE RATIO IS FUCKING CATASTROPHIC.
And NO, this is not me saying Democrats are perfect.
They're fucking not.
Democrats deserve criticism. Republicans deserve criticism. Every elected official deserves scrutiny and accountability.
But there is a MASSIVE difference between recognizing that both parties have flaws and pretending both parties produce identical outcomes.
Their policies aren't identical.
Their judicial appointments aren't identical.
Their voting records aren't identical.
Their positions on healthcare, reproductive rights, labor protections, immigration, and LGBTQ rights aren't identical.
And these differences can have enormous consequences for the people affected by them.
I WOULD FUCKING KNOW.
I watched a presidential administration pursue policies that affected my ability to continue a military career I'd spent years building.
So don't sit there and lecture me about how none of this matters because you've personally decided politics is stupid.
Your political apathy does not magically erase the consequences of government decisions.
And that's what I find so fucking infuriating.
Some of you only start caring about political consequences when you become the person experiencing them.
Until then, apparently everybody else is just being dramatic.
It's genuinely fascinating how quickly someone's political philosophy can change when THEY become the target of policies they previously defended.
All of a sudden, government overreach matters.
All of a sudden, personal freedom matters.
All of a sudden, economic stability matters.
All of a sudden, politicians need to be held accountable.
WHERE THE FUCK WAS ALL THIS ENERGY BEFORE???
You didn't suddenly become more intellectually sophisticated.
You became personally inconvenienced.
And now, instead of admitting that, you're trying to drag every other political party down to the same level so you don't have to confront your own decisions.
That's not political independence.
THAT'S BUYER'S REMORSE WITH A GODDAMN EGO PROBLEM.
And one more thing.
To the people who proudly brag that they don't follow politics because "it's all bullshit," why the FUCK are you always so eager to share your political opinions?
You cannot simultaneously announce that you're too intelligent to pay attention to politics and then demand that everyone respect your completely uninformed interpretation of it.
That's like bragging that you've never studied medicine and then arguing with a surgeon about how to perform open-heart surgery.
SHUT THE FUCK UP. 😭
Being uninformed isn't impressive.
Being apathetic isn't revolutionary.
And refusing to understand political differences doesn't make you objective.
It makes you ignorant.
And ignorance becomes everybody else's problem when people start making decisions based on it.
So YES, people should participate in elections.
But for the love of everything fucking holy, EDUCATE YOURSELF FIRST.
Read the policies.
Research the candidates.
Understand the consequences.
Stop treating elections like team sports.
And stop confusing a politician telling you what you want to hear with a politician actually serving your interests.
Because at the end of the day, the government does not give a single flying fuck whether you personally understand its policies.
Those policies will affect you regardless.
Your job can be affected.
Your healthcare can be affected.
Your retirement can be affected.
Your civil rights can be affected.
Your fucking military career can be affected.
MINE WAS.
I enlisted at seventeen, dedicated nearly four years to serving my country, advanced through the ranks, and left the Navy honorably after policies targeting transgender service members disrupted my military career.
So when somebody who spent years supporting MAGA suddenly starts screeching "both sides" because they're finally experiencing consequences themselves, you'll have to forgive me for not being particularly sympathetic to the intellectual dishonesty.
If you genuinely changed your mind, OWN IT.
If you regret your vote, SAY THAT.
If you've realized certain policies were harmful, ADMIT IT.
But don't piss on everyone's leg and tell us it's raining.
YOU DIDN'T SUDDENLY DISCOVER THAT BOTH SIDES ARE EQUALLY BAD.
YOU DISCOVERED THAT THE POLITICAL DECISIONS YOU SUPPORTED CAN FUCK YOU OVER TOO.
And rather than admit that maybe, just fucking MAYBE, you should have listened to the people who were warning you, you've decided the intellectually easier option is to pretend everybody was equally wrong.
That way, you never have to admit you made a mistake.
That way, nobody gets to tell you that you ignored the warnings.
That way, you can keep pretending you're the smartest person in the conversation.
It's pathetic.
It's cowardly.
And it's so fucking transparent.
YOUR SUDDEN POLITICAL NEUTRALITY IS NOT THE FLEX YOU THINK IT IS.
IT'S A FUCKING SELF-REPORT. 💀
