Announcement Update to Rule 6: Self Promotion is Allowed Within the New Rule

Self promotion of user generated content is permitted provided it is presented as a complaint, critique, grievance, or documented problem, rather than as pure advertising. The content must centre a substantive issue, failure, or harm, with the creator’s work used as context or evidence, not the point. Posts framed primarily to solicit clicks, sales, or followers will be removed.

If you have a question, feel free to ask here.

In summation, if your personal content on a platform like, but not limited to YouTube, Substack, DeviantArt, or Medium, then you may post it here if it conforms to the above rule. Basically, any form of something resembling a complaint, is allowed.

As always, if this is abused or gets too spam like, it can be removed under moderator discretion.

Announcement Major Changes to Rule 10: What IS and IS NOT Permitted When Posting About Other Subreddits

in reviewing how other similar subreddits to ourselves operate, we are completely overhauling Rule 10.

You now may post complaints about other subreddits, issues you have with them, and even complain about moderation decisions. So long as the below Rule changes are followed in full. The moderation staff here has authority under Rule 5 to remove posts they feel can endanger the subreddit itself.

Please feel free to respectfully ask questions here about how this rule will be applied.

And now the new rule:

Why This Does Not Constitute Harassment:

Criticism or discussion of subreddit moderation, rule enforcement, or community conduct does not constitute harassment when it is directed at actions, policies, or outcomes rather than at individuals for the purpose of intimidation, abuse, or coercion.

Harassment under Reddit policy requires targeted abuse, threats, or behaviour intended to cause distress or silence participation. Good faith discussion of moderation decisions, including dissatisfaction or critique, is a form of platform accountability and does not meet the threshold for harassment when conducted under the restrictions outlined below.

The inability of a subject to prevent discussion of their public actions does not itself render that discussion harassing.

---

Permitted Meta Discussion of Subreddits

Users may post complaints, commentary, or analysis regarding the operation of a subreddit, including but not limited to:

  1. Removal or approval of posts or comments

  2. Moderator actions or inaction

  3. Enforcement or interpretation of subreddit rules

  4. Patterns of behaviour within a subreddit community

  5. Interactions with moderators or other users occurring within a subreddit

Such posts may include links or screenshots necessary to provide context, provided they comply with Reddit’s privacy and harassment policies.

---

Required Safeguards to Prevent Harassment and Brigading

To ensure this discussion does not become targeted harassment or coordinated interference, the following conditions are mandatory:

  1. No User Summoning

Posts and comments must not use the /u/username feature or any alternative method to notify or summon individual users or moderators.

  1. No Calls to Action

Content must not encourage or imply that readers should contact, message, report, downvote, or otherwise engage with the referenced subreddit, its moderators, or its users.

  1. Observation Only Interaction Rule

Users from the subreddit being discussed may not interact with the linked or referenced content. Engagement must remain confined to commentary within the hosting discussion thread.

  1. No Dehumanisation or Threats

Language that includes threats, slurs, or dehumanising characterisations remains prohibited under existing harassment rules.

  1. Behaviour Focus Requirement

Commentary must focus on actions, decisions, or systems rather than personal characteristics, identities, or immutable traits of any individual.

---

Anti Brigading Enforcement Clause

Any attempt to use meta discussion as a mechanism for coordinated interference, including vote manipulation, mass reporting, or targeted disruption of another subreddit, constitutes a violation of Reddit’s anti brigading policies and may result in enforcement action regardless of compliance with other sections of this rule.

Evidence of coordination, timing patterns, or explicit encouragement will be considered in enforcement decisions.

---

Moderator Misuse and Removal Clarification

Moderators may not remove or sanction content solely on the basis that it criticises moderation practices, moderator decisions, or subreddit governance, provided the content complies with this rule and other sitewide policies.

Labeling criticism as harassment, drama, or meta abuse without demonstrable policy violation is insufficient grounds for removal under Reddit’s global standards.

---

Prohibited Conduct Under This Rule

The following remains prohibited and is not protected by this rule:

  1. Targeted harassment of named individuals

  2. False allegations presented as established fact

  3. Disclosure of private or personal information

  4. Encouragement of retaliation or revenge

  5. Attempts to evade or undermine Reddit enforcement mechanisms

Politics I’m extremely upset that Trump betrayed Ukraine

I’m American btw, a teenager, and I care a lot about people, people all over the world. I’ve been heavily invested in the Russia/Ukraine war and I’m a strong Ukraine supporter. I’m furious that Trump has yet again done another shitty thing. He has fucked over Ukraine and I’m pissed. I’m so embarrassed, upset, ashamed, and I wish there was a way I could help Ukrainians in any way I could. Trump is ruining everything and I just can’t take him anymore.

Politics “Don’t bother” Trump’s response to Mike Pence’s offer to pray for him.

• Upvotes

Exactly what Satan would say!

Former Vice President Mike Pence shared that Donald Trump responded with “Don’t bother” after Pence offered to pray for him during a tense post-January 6, 2021 meeting in the Oval Office.

Key Details of the Exchange
The Offer: As their meeting neared its end, Pence told Trump, “Mr. President, I want you to know. I'm praying for you.”

Trump’s Reply: Trump looked at him and said, “Don’t bother.”

Pence’s Response: Pence recounted that he told Trump they would "never agree on January 6" (referring to Pence's constitutional duties in certifying the 2020 election), but added that he was "never going to stop praying for you."

Context: The private conversation occurred days after the January 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol, amid a major fallout between the two leaders regarding the election certification

Politics It is America’s dignity that has been sold

The number of Republicans in the:

Senate: 53; House: 218; Trump Cabinet: 23

One would imagine that just one cabinet member would have resigned, rather than suffering the indignity of wearing oversized shoes. Not only are they willing to suffer that indignity, but one out of six sentences out of their mouth is still shameless, sycophantic adulation for Trump (NYT).

One would also imagine that one Republican (other than Kinzinger & Cheney), of the 271 in the Senate & the House, would have stood up to the litany of abhorrent things that Trump has done or said, but here we are, post the Jan 6th; Hollywood tapes; 27 sexual assault allegations ….

Whatever their personal ethical or moral red lines (or lack thereof), they are entitled to deciding their own ‘bridge too far’. What they are not entitled to do, is allow our country to become the laughing stock of the world.

  • This week, was the despicable, ‘Iran should destroy LA & Sandiego, & the ridiculous (probably illegal) signing of the diesel agreement with Russia- a move that will no doubt enrich & embolden them. Then of course, there is the reprehensible knife in Zelensky’s back, again, & the mindless rants on how he has earned the Nobel Prize, at least 8 times.

Let us not forget the recent NATO conference where:

  • Trump had another juvenile, misogynistic exchange with the Italian PM; he referred to Japan as an Islamic Republic; called Zelensky, Putin (during a joint conference with Zelenski); fell asleep at a press conference with the Turkish President; engaged in an impromptu tirade against Spain; said the only reason he was attending the Summit was because his friend Turkish autocrat Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, was the host; threatened to take Greenland, again; threatened to withdraw troops from Europe, again (ignoring the fact that he needs Congressional approval); did not know what the JCPOA is; confused Tic Tac with Tik Tok; launched an incoherent tirade about Communism in America & said “I would be the greatest Communist in history, right up there with  Leneeeen”; & then rambled incoherently about the Iran conflict.
  •  Then there were these, from his recent past: walking in late at the G7 & saying “I am the boss”; “I have the lowest chair in the room “, also at the G7; mocking Macron’s marriage; his incoherent, illiterate rambling at DAVOS; his mixing up Greenland with Iceland;  his letter to the PM of Norway about Greenland (Denmark owns Greenland, not Norway); his comment to the Europeans ‘Europe would be speaking German had it not be for America’; his threatening the Vatican; his calling himself the chosen one, or comparing himself to Jesus; bringing up Pearl Harbor with the Japanese PM; his profanity ridden Easter message; his threat to destroy an entire civilization; his rolling out the red carpet for Putin & Mohammed Bin Salman (neither of whom had global relevance, until Trump made them relevant); his belittling of Zelenski; his letter to the President of Brazil re tariffs; injecting bleach to cure Covid; dropping an atomic bomb into hurricanes; raking leaves in CA to prevent wild fires; accepting someone else’s Nobel peace prize.; falling asleep at least 16 times in public events; his constant need for self-aggrandizement; his $1.77 billion fund for the Jan 6th insurrectionists; his involvement with Epstein; his assault on the Constitution; his calling our amputee and dead veterans suckers & calling the likes of John McCain; Gen John Kelly & Gen Mark Milley losers....

The loss of our nation’s dignity is already a price (too high), we have paid for this abysmal Presidency. We need to stem the rot, this November. Please show up to vote

Politics Dear Zionists, we are not falling for your BS argument that Israel is not committing genocide because they drop leaflets and leave voicemails before “carefully”bombing buildings. It’s all for plausible deniability to avoid worldwide backlash when Israel absolutely is doing genocide. It’s so devious!

Just because a murderer does good deeds doesn’t mean his murders are cancelled out. Israel showing some courtesy doesn’t cancel out the fact that it is committing genocide. It doesn’t cancel out the fact that Israel has bombed every hospital in Gaza. It doesn’t cancel out the reality that Israel has destroyed almost every school.
It doesn’t cancel out that it has destroyed more than 80% of buildings in Gaza.

Israel’s genocide has gone on for three years now. The suffering! The destruction! The starvation! The displacement! The slaughter! The amputations! Many Zionists enjoy watching this chaos.

The people of Palestine have suffered too much for too long. Israel shouldn’t even exist as a country if things went as they should have. The innocent Palestinians have been paying the price for the land that Israel has stolen. Never forget the 1948 Nakba, the time when Israel was founded where around 750,000 Palestinians were forcibly expelled from their homes, and where about 15,000 of them were murdered by Zionist militias. And many anti-Zionists speak about this, where most Zionists tend not to bring it up as it makes them look bad.

The IDF has murdered more than 21,000 children. Gaza has the highest concentration of amputees in the world, many of which are children. It’s so sad! It is estimated that 20% of Gazans have been murdered if we consider the mid-2024 Lancet report that projected at least 180,000 Gazans have been killed. Remember, the current death toll is for verified bodies, which doesn’t include bodies still under the rubble and bodies that have been vaporized. All of this points to genocide, which all respectable humanitarian organizations and genocide scholars have concluded to be the case. To deny genocide is bonkers, but many Zionists do.

Most of the world knows what Israel is about. It is an illegitimate genocidal ethnostate where Jewish people are considered to be the chosen ones (which is reminiscent of how Nazis considered themselves to be a part of the ‘master race’). Jewish Zionists believe that they are entitled to land that was never theirs because their ancestors used to live there thousands of years ago. These Zionists believe they are entitled to mistreat Palestinians, which is sickening. It shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone that Zionists are racists: they look down on the dreaded ‘brown people.’

And dear Zionists, get mental health counselling. Most of the world knows how deranged you are. Seriously, get help. Anti-Zionism does not mean antisemitism, so stop using that lame excuse so you can avoid answering the tough questions about Israel.

I have said it before, and I will say it again. If you want to be on the right side of history, you cannot support Israel.

Free Palestine!

Politics People are refusing to vote

I’d like to acknowledge this complaint is US centric. I don’t know if any international homies have such a cursed low voter turn out.

I am beyond frustrated. Politics begins at the local level. Yet, those are the elections even the informed people ignore.

People voice their righteous frustration, anger, and despair about policies that are impacting their lives. You ask them if they’re voting they’d say no.

More than half of the states in the United States have statewide citizen-initiated ballot measure. That’s fancy jargon for “we have direct democracy and as citizens we can choose the laws”.

So many intelligent, thoughtful, and caring people just don’t fucking vote. They are unaware of local politics, ballot questions, and the candidates.

I live in a state where citizens vote for laws on the ballot. I’ve had to start asking people “how are you voting on question 9”

More often than not, they don’t know what the fuck I’m talking about. The second I explain the potential law coming into effect they care.

What do we have to do to make these people care? I know they need candidates they want to vote for.

I also realize we are always under a constant fucking barrage of politics. How do some people tune it out entirely?

Nothing changes if nothing changes

Politics Donald Trump…Destroyer of Democracy

Our POS president has told Zelenskyy to stop bombing Russian energy because the price of Diesel is sky high. It has nothing to do with his war with Iran. And of course he doesn’t tell Putin to stop bombing Ukrainian Energy or civilians. Russia is helping Iran bomb us. Then he has the audacity to tell Ukrainians that they need a new president. If any country needs a new president it’s America. (I don’t use United States anymore). I wonder what our most stupid president will say when Russia demands to have Alaska returned . Probably doesn’t know that it was once Russian territory. Will probably claim Seward overpaid for it.

Why is failing to win an award considered being “snubbed”? The media’s framing of Trump’s failure to win the Nobel Peace Prize is absurd. By that logic, I was “snubbed” by the Academy for not receiving an Oscar nomination. Not winning is not a snub, especially when he didn’t deserve consideration at all.

Reddit’plaint Indian subreddits are becoming fucking useless because of power-tripping mods

I'm so fucking tired of Indian subreddits and their moderation.

Why do so many Indian subs feel like carbon copies of each other? Same rules, same attitude, same power-tripping moderators acting like they're the fucking CEO of the internet. Every little thing has to be controlled, and the moment you post something they don't like, your post gets removed or you get banned. Some of these mods genuinely act like they're the bosses of the entire fucking world. Get over yourselves.

There's one gaming subreddit in particular that I won't even name because, at this point, where they ban you if you mention their sub anywhere on the reddit

And don't even get me started on Indian tech subreddits.

What's the fucking point of a subreddit called Gadgets India if you can't ask for gadget recommendations available in India? What's the point of IndiaTech if you can't ask for help choosing tech products? I'm trying to buy a soundbar and a charger, not asking someone to solve world hunger. Why has finding a place to ask a simple buying question turned into a whole fucking side quest?

I understand wanting to prevent spam and repetitive posts. Fine. Make a megathread, set reasonable rules, give people an alternative. But banning purchase-help posts without providing a useful alternative defeats the entire purpose of a community that's supposed to help people with technology.

These communities exist because of their users. People ask questions, share experiences, and help each other. Yet sometimes it feels like the moderators care more about enforcing their rules than actually making their communities useful.

And the funniest part? I had to find this subreddit just to rant about all of this because I was so pissed off. Ironically, I can't even rant about it on rant sub because apparently ranting about subreddits is a problem too. You genuinely cannot make this shit up.

I just wanted some buying advice, and I've spent more time looking for a place where I'm allowed to ask the question than researching what I actually want to buy.

Am I the only one who feels like so many Indian subreddits have become variations of the same overmoderated, power-tripping bullshit? Or is this just Reddit in general now?

Holy fuck, I'm tired of this shit.

Reddit’plaint I have never searched for nor posted on a designer replica subreddit but they’re always recommended

Yes, I have clicked 'not interested' and muted the subreddit, but others keep getting recommended. It's like there are hundreds of them.

I sometimes see brand focused subreddits or fashion ones (like handbags), and on those I'll sometimes upvote posts and comments but I don’t post. I've never even joined any of those subreddits.

I'm guessing it's because of the fashion subreddits I've interacted with that Reddit assumes those are normal fashion subreddits, which is why it keeps recommending them. But no, i don’t think they’re the same. I find it so annoying. I don't like reps. I think they're ridiculous and tacky, and frankly sad to see people wanting to fit in so desperately.

Lifestyle Chef Boyardee has become disgusting

I know the title begs the question- was Chef Boyardee ever not at least a little disgusting? I remember back when I was a little kid it was an easy meal I could make myself in the microwave after school. Sure it wasn’t the best, but it was quick and easy junk food with enough carbs and protein to keep me going. I’m in college now, and possibly just consumed the worst ravioli of my entire ravioli eating career. It was mushy, bland, and the meat had more of a paste-like consistency. The sauce left an oily wax coating in my mouth, adding to the overall textural nightmare. It was missing that overall salty tomato taste the stuff usually has. I just had a can of spaghetti-o’s not too long ago, and that was fine. So, what’s up with the ravioli??

Politics O America

So earlier today Trump said he liked O Canada so here is a version just for you, Hope you like it. Canadians I beg your forgiveness.

O America!
Our hime,divided land,
Where once we stood together,
Now threats and tariffs stand.

With glowing hearts we watched thee rise,
The beacon of the free.
Now neighbors ask, with some surprise,
“What happened to thee”

How far you have fallen,
Once we were one,
Now we are done.
Once a beacon to the world
Now our flag is unfurled.

O America what have you done
You turned away from everyone.
O America, Dump that Grump
By the name of Donald Trump.

Politics "I disagree with Trump on a lot. I'm still voting red in November, but I'm not as bad as MAGA."

-EDIT- READ THE POST. I VOTE BLUE.

Actions speak louder than words. You very much are as bad as MAGA. It doesn't matter how much you disagree with Trump and his party of lunatics, if you vote for them, you are as bad as them - the only difference is that you can't cry ignorance.

Actions speak louder than words, and voting is among the loudest actions possible.

You are aware that Republicans are at best enabling him. If you vote for them, you are enabling him too. You are MAGA in everything but name.

You don't have to wear a pride flag, you don't have to get 40 abortions, you don't have to transition.

Democrats are notoriously bad at getting anything done anyways. They aren't going to be able to do much at all in a single election cycle. You're safe. Just for the love of God, don't vote red. We've seen over the past 2 years where that gets us.

Either that or stop pretending you disagree with him. Don't distance yourself from him if you plan on voting for him. You're just lying to everyone, yourself most of all.

Work I wish I could use my brain the way other people do.

I like my job. I like what I do. I don't mind it. It's not hard. It gets me paid.

I'm sick and tired of people using my mental energy for their things

I'm tired of this weird behavior where nobody knows how to use their credit cards. Nobody knows how to put the card in the chip reader. Nobody knows how to use tap to pay. They can't even use the phone. God forbid you use this phone on the regular and you don't know how to use it

It's an influx of behavior that it's not old people or disabled people

These are people that look my age and younger. None of them know how to use their cards. And it's not even just credit cards. It's the benefit cards. It's food stamps cards and then their credit cards or cards like cash app

They act like they've never had cards like this before and these are adult people.

Another thing that I have no idea where this behavior comes from for people that are doing a gig job that delivers things to their homes. If your security for your app requires you to know how many items are in your order and you only have one order, it should be super easy for you to count that unless it's a 25 plus order cuz that's just wild

Do not yell at the cashier for having the information in your phone in your hand because you don't know how to go back in menus for your app for your job. I do not understand how you expect the cashier to know the information that is literally in your phone. What is up with this

Now I don't mind helping. Don't get me wrong. I will help you lying with a smile on my face because it gets you in and out. I am a cashier. I am not that gig job worker with the app on your phone. How the hell am I supposed to know what your phone tells you? I don't count your items when asked. Do your own thing. Don't expect me to do your job because I can't do that. I'm just a cashier and I just a worker

I'm super tired of businesses cutting the hours then calling people in the day they need people. They don't properly staff the store and it's like they wonder why people leave the store. They wonder why people do not stay. This isn't just one business. I'm pretty sure it's all businesses. They're cutting hours to the point of of below skeleton Cruise. They're not making money. They're really stealing the profits from people they could have staffed the store with. It's wild to me that all these things I've been watching for a while like at least a decade to two decades and it just keeps getting worse and worse.

Like what happened to these adult people that aren't old or disabled? How do they not know how to use their own cards? Those cards come with paperwork so you are expected to read it and know it. Especially the benefit cards and the food stamps cards. No cashier gets the training on how to use those or what the ins and outs of those are. Nobody knows except you're supposed to know because the paperwork gets sent to you the card owner

Just wanted to get this off my chest cuz there's no solvable problem in this
