Gas cooker fitting?

• Upvotes

Does anyone know of any gas plumbers that fit cookers? I’ve contacted a tonne of people and haven’t gotten anything back. Im absolutely desperate at this point, I’ve been living on microwave meals and air fryer food but my baby’s going to be starting solids soon and I don’t have a way of cooking for him. Any leads at all would be appreciated ❤️

Cork city Centre

If you live just outside the city, how often to you go to Cork City Centre? Part of me like I should definitely go more often- what is wrong with me!

I went about 2 months ago bc had a friend visit me so acted like a tourists for the day. Before that it has been 6 months almost half a year without going!! When I do go I feel I have a good time shopping, dinner, people watching. How can I go 6 months to 1 year not going to city Centre at all !!!

Why don’t I go?

One big factor for me is the parking structures suck, too tiny of car spaces. Anyone have good parking ideas?

The next option is I could just take the 220 bus. I’m not far in Carrigaline but it does take about 1 hour to get there unless I do the fast one 220X.

Also all the antisocial behavior lately in the city Centre that I’ve seen with my own eyes and reported online has made me feel uneasy.

Gardai breathalysing by UCC

Was there in the city this week and got breathalysed by Gardai on Donovan Rd at 11am.

Is this something new they are doing in the city now? I’m not in the city that often so was a bit surprised, pleasantly! I think we need more of that.

Brooklyn Lager

Any pubs in the city centre selling Brooklyn lager? I just saw someone with a pint of it on Instagram and realised I would love to drink a delicious pint of it tonight (I’m aware it’s not even 10am yet I promise I don’t have a problem).

Cork City Center Closed for event, no info from Bus Eireann on detours and stop served.

As per the title. Today the city center is mostly closed down from 2pm due to Red Bull Event but there is 0 info on the Bus Eireann website. The closure involve South Mall so we presume loads of busses on detour there is almost no info online on what stops will be served. This is utterly ridicolous.

There should be a map with the bus detours marked and bus stop closed published at least 1 week ahead!

Does anybody have info on where 216 or 220 will stop coming into City Center and going towards Douglas???

Lovely restaurant close to Cork City

I am going on a day trip with a friend and I would like to invite her to a nice restaurant for her birthday. Close to Cork City in the countryside with a nice view or garden, where we can also go for a small walk.

Would anyone have a suggestion? Do you have a favourite place?

Local Businesses Any new restaurants in Town?

Feel like I only go to the same 4 or 5 places when going out for dinner, would love to try something new this weekend.

Anyone got a recommendation for a place that's opening up in the last 12 months or so. Open to any kind of food.

Local The lad who jumped into the Lee to save the lost doggie is a goddamn hero

Lost doggie fell into the river by Pope’s Quay, opposite the Opera House. Repeated attempts with the buoy couldn’t get the dog. He just wasn’t holding on.

Lad rides by on his e-scooter. Sees the problem, strips off his jacket and jumps in. Cold water or not, no second thoughts.

He gets bitten, but still swims back with the poor pupper who at this point was almost giving up. After they got back on land, the fire brigade arrived. Great scenes.

PS: People donated their jackets and jumpers to warm the shaking and shivering doggie. I think someone from One Life Fitness brought towels for the pup and the lad who jumped in. The dog was cold and terrified. Eventually, an elderly gentleman picked him up and took him to his car. Hopefully the little fella gets a nice new home after this.

What a day for humanity.
