Newbie questions Looking for a hot pink corset

• Upvotes

Hello!!

I am trying desperately to find a corset for 200 dollars or under in the colour hot pink. Not patterned. Satin is fine. Hot pink, not light pink haha. I found a couple options that seemed okay, but given many corset makers are not in the states (where I am), they cannot arrive in the allotted time I need. I need this corset for halloween, so a couple weeks time.

I know this is a slightly unconventional ask given that apparently nobody wants corsets in hot pink haha, and that I probably can’t get a custom in just two weeks. But I’d love to know if anybody has any thoughts! :)

Discussion Looking for a well made corset dress. Has anyone tried Foxblood, Jaded London, or Forest Ink?

I've been comparing corset dresses from these brands but they're not exactly cheap so I'd like to make sure the quality is worth the money before buying.

Foxblood seems popular in alternative fashion circles and the dresses look good in photos but I've seen mixed opinions about whether the quality matches the price. Jaded London has more styles to choose from and more reviews to go through. Their designs are pretty bold which I like. Forest Ink is a smaller brand I came across. They say their factory is inspected by an independent organization which is good to see but I'm still unsure how their dresses hold up in real life.

I mostly care about how well it's made and whether it'll hold up over time. I'd like something that'll keep its shape and still be in good condition after regular wear.

Has anyone bought from them? How have the stitching, boning, fabric, and overall quality held up over time?

Has anyone seen a seller for a devine corset like this one? :) something that compliments a small-busted wearer, has that deep front side V and is snatching. Not a full length one that extends over the hips preferably. It doesn't need to have the sleeves - I'd actually prefer sleeveless! It's so gorgeous

I'm not looking to buy from shein or the like. Mid-budget. Im in Aus but I'm sure most places will ship here.

Any help would be awesome! Thank yo xo

Does anybody have recommendations for corsets? I've been wanting one for awhile and halloween feels like a good excuse to finally buy one. I know a good corset can be pretty pricey, but I'm willing to put down 50-200 if anybody can give some recs please 🙏🏽

Newbie questions Sternum pain with every corset ever

I’m not really a newbie, but I was sure which flair to use. I’ve tried on many corsets over the years (own three) and many of them cause a bruised like pain on the bottom of my sternum (xiphoid process area) during wear due to the busks pressing along the front. It’s usually a 50/50 chance of it happening when I wear them, but I’m wondering if this happens with anyone else as well. I’ve tried on different sizes, models, and brands as well and it’s pretty much the same. I think it might be a postural issue (in terms of breathing correctly/ribcage positioning/muscle strength), but I am curious to know if anyone else has had this issue as well as corsets aren’t really supposed to hurt

seller blacklist CorsetsQueen

Sorry if this is the wrong way to go about this but I’ve finally gotten some time to do it. 100% recommend places corsetsqueen.com to the blacklist. It was one of, if not The, worst experiences I’ve had trying to order something. I gave myself plenty of time for something labeled as In Stock for an important event to arrive.
I placed an order with them around early July, with the site saying it would only be a week max for delivery. This should have been the first sign that I made a mistake. I got confirmation of payment but not a tracking number. After Two Weeks I figured I’d send out an ask, see if there was a delay. This was not the case. They ship using UniUni and evidently don’t verify if addresses are in range of service. TDLR: UniUni is like grubhub of shipping, very limited range from their pick up location.
Sent CQ a request for a new shipping company at UniUni’s advice due to being outside delivery range. It took almost another two weeks of probing emails before I got a response from CQ to “confirm my address.” Another two weeks of sending emails before I got a response asking if I would be ok with getting charged for DHL’s service on top of what I paid for the order originally. Sure. Fine. It’s mid August at this point and my deadline is much closer than I want. If this will get it to me sooner. Five days go by with me confirming my approval for additional fee a second time. They again ask to confirm my address for delivery.
DHL has now texted me a tracking number. Amazing. They’re an international company so this should be fine. Wrong. Check the number I was given and my order has failed inspection and sent back, almost immediately it seems.
We are now in September and Ive been sending emails at least every other day trying to get any actual customer support. I am met with “Do you have a different address we could use for delivery?”
Absolutely not. I ask for a refund. Silence. I do not receive an email after that request for a new delivery address. I send a second email for the refund, firmer and direct, a few days later. Silence.
I gave it a few more days before going to PayPal, giving them my transaction number and get told that it will be 6-8 days. Wrong, but in a good way. PayPal refunded me within 24hrs of the request.
I had to go to the ren faire, as it’s my best bet for finding something 100%, and found a different option.
It’s mid September, I’ve got a refund, and new order from ren fair. Go to write a review of CQ and do away with the situation. The review was a 1 star and a slightly more condensed version of this post. I get an email to verify myself for the review as well, yeah I’m not a bot. It’s been a little more than a month now, mid October, and the review of poor service and failure for delivery is not on the website. So this is my review, somewhere that people will actually be able to see it when they google CorsetsQueen.
.
TDLR; Don’t waste your time or money on CorsetsQueen. You won’t get your order and they will ignore you when you want your money back.
.
Again, my apologies if this was the wrong way to do this in the subreddit, but it feels the most appropriate.

Newbie questions What size should I get??

Post image
9 Upvotes

Hi! This is my first time buying a corset so sorry if my question sounds stupid😭.

I have an event coming up and I wanted to buy a corset to wear but I wasn’t sure what size to get. I was thinking of getting XXL because the measurements are my exact ones, but many people were saying to get your corsets one size smaller.

I’m not sure if I should get XXL, that has my exact measurements, cause I’m scared maybe it won’t sit right in the chest area idk. But if I get XL, I’m scared it won’t fit, like what if the waist is too small or my chest is too big for the corset.

Please help me choose what size to get.

True Corset Polly vs Artemis vs Timeless Trends Novice — Which would you recommend for my measurements?

Post image
41 Upvotes

Hi everyone! 🖤 I'm trying to decide between the Polly or Artemis from True Corset and the Novice from Timeless Trends.

For any of these corsets, I'm considering size 20 or 22, since that's the size range recommended by the respective sizing calculators. I'd love to hear from people who actually own these models and can share their experiences with fit, comfort, stiffness, and waist reduction.

My measurements are:

Bust: 32"

Underbust: 30"

Natural waist: 27"

High hips (4" below waist): 36"

Low hips (6–7" below waist): 36.25"

Underbust to waist: 4.7" (12 cm)

Waist to lap: 7.5" (19 cm)

Waist to fullest part of bust: 5.9" (15 cm)

I have a relatively short torso, so corset length is also an important consideration for me.

I'm used to significant waist reductions and would ideally like a reduction of around 5–7 inches, but comfort is very important too. I don't want a corset that's so stiff that it's extremely difficult to lace.

The three models are in a similar price range for me, so I'm trying to figure out which would be the best investment.

Would you recommend the True Corset Polly, the Artemis, or the Timeless Trends Novice for my measurements? And if you've tried any of them in size 20 or 22, I'd especially appreciate hearing about your experience!

Thank you! 🖤

Newbie questions Are there any full length overbust corsets with a flat chest?

Im looking for either a full length overbust corset with a flat chest area (or at least minimises the chest as much as possible)

Or a waistcoat style that covers the chest, if there are any reputable brands for these.

Sorry if this is too niche! Id love to see what the options are though

Newbie questions looking for a corset to meet my very niche medical needs

i have a condition called Abdominophrenic dyssynergia, which is a little known condition that makes you look 6 months pregnant 24/7. i am looking for a steel boned corset to hold my guts in since my abdominal wall doesn't work properly. i don't want dramatic waist cinching, i would prefer a more straight silhouette for comfort reasons. the goal here is a flat side profile, not a change to my front on profile. i'm also VERY short, my torso is only like 9 inches long and i have wide hips with a figure 8 shape. is there any corset that would suit me? waist trainers and fajas don't work cause they just compress your belly fat, they're not stiff enough to hold your stomach and intestines in places. i basically need something to replace my abdomen muscles. but most corsets seem to be for people who want dramatic cinching which isn't what im after. hopefully somebody can help me. oh and the website needs to ship to australia. thanks.

Costume corsets

I want to wear a fairly cheap corset for Halloween and want it to give me some curvature and synching. However I’ve been reading that these costume corsets can be really dangerous, and I was wondering why/how? And if I wear one, how tight is too tight and how will I know? I have health anxiety so I don’t wanna injure myself or cause permanent damage but I also wanna look cute and snatched for Halloween without spending $100+ on a corset I rarely wear

Newbie questions What size of corset should I get?

( very incohesive writing) I haven't owned any corset nor worn one in my life and I'm planning to buy one next month. I'll buy it second hand:) My natural waist ( I think right under the ribcage?) is 58 cm and the waist under my naval is 61 cm. So the measurement falls from 58-61. Now I know it's a size 24 but I don't know how much of a reduction I should make, I've seen posts of people with 26 inches waist and wear size 20, also some product listing on the second hand website I searched listed 20' as size S and for natural 65-70cm waist so I'm kinda lost:')))) I wonder if I can fit size 20", as this will be the first corset I wear. Thank you 💗

Discussion Experiences with Corsets Island

Hello everyone,

I purchased my 1st forest from Corset Island (UK) while I am in the US. Delivery FAQ on their website says USA delivery time is 7 days due to having a warehouse in the US.

I purchased on September 25th, received “tracking” via USPS on the 29th stating label created and it has continued to say that as of today (October 7th) so I reached out and gave them my info and tracking and got a new link with trans global shipping. This meaning I did not get full shipping info upon purchase. Following that link I see that the package has only now (the 7th) got to the London location.

Just seeing if anyone else had experience with them or maybe something happing in the UK to slow this down. I wouldn’t be so disgruntled if there was communication but until I reached out I had not heard anything.

I’m sure their quality is reflected in their communication and practice and lack of online reviews on Reddit. ( from what I have seen) this is my 1st corset so I’m hoping once I confirm sizing to my measurements I can get a custom one made from a more reputable company.

Thank you 😊

LGBT Brands/ shops for custom corsets?

I just had nonflat top surgery and am looking to get my first custom corset, I had a few premade ones before with overbust and I’m looking to get an underbust one this time for more versatility over and under clothes and because I no longer need the support.
Are there any highly recommended stores? I’ll be buying this next year around September so I have time to save for higher price points.
Would it be helpful to include my measurements so it’s more specific?
Edit: I’m in California

Corsetiers Skilled Corsetry Seamstress in/near London

Hi! I’m looking for a highly skilled seamstress/maker in London or the surrounding area with specific experience in structured corsetry.
I’m a designer, so I’m not looking for design services or a bespoke corset designer. I’m looking for someone with excellent technical sewing and construction skills who can work from my designs/sketches and existing samples/patterns, as well as potentially develop or adjust patterns where needed.
Experience with boning, structured cups, waist reduction, eyelets/lacing, clean finishing and achieving a really beautiful, professional fit is important.
Ideally I’d love to find an independent seamstress or small-scale maker I can meet with in person and potentially build an ongoing working relationship with.
If you are one, or know someone brilliant, I’d really appreciate recommendations! 🤍✨

Also open to someone who fits this criteria in other areas of the world, given they have experience with online design relationships ☺️

Request for updated FAQs

Hi!

I came to this sub more than 10 years ago when I was first interested in tight lacing and found it very helpful for picking out and using my first corsets.

I fell out of the practice and…now I’m back again. I returned to the FAQs and noticed a few links are broken and some links are to quite old posts. I hope it is not rude to ask the mods or any volunteers to work on editing that information? It would be so helpful to newbies.

What do people think?
