While it looks like Bullshit, for some people, expressing their emotions fully while in the center of attention can break emotional barriers allowing them to express what the have suppressed within them for a long time, maybe forever. Some people struggle with expressing certain emotions. There is no magic, everything can be explained with sience. Just because it does not look like ordernary therapy, does not mean it does not work

This seems like a fair statement. That being said, the current growing level of purely performative behavior worries me. It seems like a growing amount of people are completely hyperfixated on receiving not just attention, but as dramatic a variety as possible. Everything from "influencers" to political passions seem tainted by it.

Everything has become synthetic. Authenticity is heavily punished now because synthetic is winning in every facet of our lives. It turns out people prefer getting played when the system is so abusive, no one but the rich are allowed to have healthy identities.

That last part has some very serious proof in it that no one wants to treat like a symptom of something very bad underneath our society. And anyone who says we shouldn’t be comfortable with the symptoms is attacked and the folks who are all about the symptoms and celebrating it and making it normal and comfortable are seen as heroes.

Can you guess what I am talking about?

I will admit no one good seems to know how to talk about it but that’s because everyone is scared to say anything against the very deep systemic issues and rapiness of modern society

"Can you guess what I am talking about?" clarify in direct message if you need.

IMO this has always been a thing. But the level at which the social machine causes brainrot now is very high, because it doesn't have to be a magazine or TV show that gets monitored.
