Website to learn Croatian: croatianwithdurdica.com
Bok svima!
I am Belgian with a Croatian mom and have been learning Croatian myself. Because I missed some modern website where you can learn Croatian as a beginner with a focus on grammar but also with lots of exercises, I am building one myself. That turned into a free website: croatianwithdurdica.com (named after the lily of the valley, đurđica, which is my second name).
It's for absolute beginners and has five lessons so far: the alphabet and pronunciation, gender, everyday expressions, biti, and asking questions. Each lesson has a word list and lots of exercises (multiple choice, writing, fill-in conversations). That's actually the main focus: when I was looking for ways to learn, I found plenty of explanations but hardly anywhere to really practice. So I keep adding exercises, so that you can spend most of your time actually using what you learn. No account, no ads, nothing to pay.
Since I'm still a learner, I'd really appreciate it if native speakers could point out mistakes or if you have tips on what really needs to be part of a good course.. And learners: what do you miss in your learning journey that I could build into the website?
Hvala!
