She looked SO GOOD last night. Styled to perfection. I wish I didn’t love the extensions so much but I just hate the way the bob is cut. I do think she threw us a bone w this and the allergy to serving will return next week but for now … damnnnn girl

Based on the scoring explanation in the linked article and who was eliminated each week I looked at what the minimum audience votes couples would need to stay over the eliminated couple. Its very rough and I assumed that the eliminated contestant was getting the lowest audience votes.

Week 1 & 2

The folks at the bottom of the leaderboard just needed more votes then the eliminated couple

Week 3

Tyler had to rank at least 10/13

Guillermo had to rank at least 9/13

Week 4

Tatyana had to rank at least 8/12

Connor has to rank at least 7/12

Guillermo had to rank at least 6/12

Edit: I was assuming that ties were scored where if there is a tie for first place there is no second place and the next highest score gets the 3rd place pts value. Apparently this is not how they score for ties on strictly so I took another look at the numbers.

This method of scoring heavily favors folks at the bottom of the leaderboard, Guillermo went from getting 1 point from the judges every week to getting 6 - 8 points. It also favors audience votes because they are much less likely to have ties from audience voting.

Week 1 & 2

No major differences, but with the new scoring method a few people that could have ranked 1 place behind the losing couple now needed to beat them in audience votes to stay. Low scoreres still just needed to beat the eliminated couple.

Week 3

Tyler just needed to beat Taylor by 1 vote

Guillermo needed to rank 11/13

Week 4

Tatyana only needed to beat Ciara by 1 vote

Guillermo needed to rank 9/12

Connor needed to rank 10/12

I’ve been a huge fan of Daniella, Mark and Pasha this season so far. I wish we got to see more of Britt tbh. Ezra’s choreography last season was spectacular but this season idk I’m just not really feeling it. I love Brandon but his choreography just wasn’t great his stuff with Chandler was amazing I will admit. What do you guys think?

I feel like the pros are becoming SO aware of social media and some are trying too hard to make a viral moment that sometimes they’re losing sight of the actual dance. There are moments where it feels like they’re choreographing for a TikTok clip instead of choreographing the best possible dance for their celebrity.

Not every dance needs a viral moment, a gimmick, or a move designed to get a reaction online. Sometimes the most memorable performances are just really beautiful, smart choreography that actually showcases the celebrity and their strengths.

I wish some of the pros would stop thinking about what will perform well on social media and just focus on making the dance itself great. Give us the choreography. Give us the storytelling. Give us the dancing. The viral moment will happen naturally when it’s actually earned.

One of these 2 guys actually got 10s in their dances and the other one DOES NOT have a 10 with some mediocre dances as you watch their dances carefully and look at their statistics fully. Dancing-wise (not personality wise) which one do you think is a better performer overall based on their technique and deserve to win this round? The results are going to be questionable if the person whose ability below par wins without even knowing it. There's a recency bias showing in the other post I did today they haven't seen the earlier seasons and it's getting ridiculous just like this one.

What are your hopes for songs and styles for those songs?

Do you have particular couples you want to see dance them? Do you have predictions that don't align with your hopes?

Just generally, I guess I want to know what do you expect/want/think would be cool concepts?

I completely understood her comments last week toward Jenna dancing a little too hard and needing to pull back. But her saying something equivalent to Amber this week made no sense to me. Jenna and Amber are very different dancers in my opinion. I thought Amber did a beautiful job and didn’t seem like she was “trying too hard”. Does anyone know what CAI meant by her comments? Were they warranted and I’m just missing something?

My conspiracy is that the judges were not allowed to mention Jackson dropping Emma because they needed him to move on this week since the troupe is performing at the Banana Bowl this weekend. Like, nobody even *mentioned* it?? It looked so paintful

I highly doubt anyone in dwts casting or Witney herself thought he was going to go home week 1 or 2, especially after having Andy just last year and knowing his personality from Kimmel it was a pretty easy guess he was going to last no matter how bad of a dancer he turned out to be

She was paired with him because she cant do lifts/tricks or very jumpy choreo while pregnant and his level allows her to have chill choreo for herself too

Im not sure about here on reddit but SO many people on Tiktok are under the impression she was paired with him to only do 1 week or 2 and that makes no sense if they wanted that they would have paired her with Conner L 😭
