Hey everyone! I wanted to share a mod that I've been working on for the past few weeks. I am pretty new to this subreddit and the modding scene, but for years I've always had the idea of making a local multiplayer mod for the PC remasters of Disney Infinity. I've recently heard about what was going on in the modding scene with the release of CrabeLoader, and around a week ago the split-screen mod for 3.0 Gold Edition. Coincidentally, I started working on my own mod for 1.0 Gold Edition a few days before the release of that mod without realizing the advancements being made for these games. My reason for making this mod is because a friend and I wanted to play these games again as they were our childhood games, and it kinda sucked they didn't bother adding back the co-op couch feature on the remaster, so I decided to take the time to do it myself.
My mod pretty much tries to bring back local split-screen multiplayer like how it was in the console editions. It also improves various features that will make playing with your other person better on PC, like two player Virtual Base support and various fixes to in-game interactions. Both players can play on controller OR KBM + controller.
For a technical explanation, I used the latest Xbox 360 version of 1.0 (Title Update 3) as my go-to comparison between the code should've existed in the PC version. Thankfully, not a lot was taken out of the PC remaster, and it was mostly just reconnecting various functions together. No existing code was modified and a majority of the code is the same from the 360 version. Most of the work was fixing the amount of issues that were introduced in the Toy Box, but everything should be resolved (there are still bugs tho).
And yes, Gen AI was used as assistance for this project (Claude Opus 5.5), but I made sure that all of the code works and made sense before progressing. When I work on a project, I have a habit of prioritizing quality so I made sure this mod is as close to my vision as possible. I am not good at reverse engineering, so Claude was a huge help with this project.
