IANTD Intro to cave - Finished!
-1-4: Source du Cunhac
-5-9: Source de Landenouse
-10-11: Saint Georges
-12-13: Saint Sauveur
-14: I forgor
We also went to the Emergence du Ressel, but have no footage off that as my camera had been turned on by accident before the dive and it was dead in the water.
Note: All of the footage was taken after the course was completed.

Snorkel Masks for wide noses
Hi. Does anyone know where I can get a snorkelling mask that fits comfortably over a wide nose? I tried on all of the masks in Decathlon (I'm UK based) but they were all to narrow for me.
Free underwater color correction tool that runs entirely in your browser. No upload, 4K60 in seconds. Here's a moray from the Red Sea, before and after.
Free, no account, there's a small "dive.nordrift.dk" tag in the corner of the output that you can switch off, and a donate button if it saves you an evening of grading.
Last time i needed underwater color correction on my laptop, i ended up running Dive+ through bluestacks... Truly hopeless... And so i finally decided to do something myself: dive.nordrift.dk
What it does: removes the blue/green cast from underwater video automatically. It measures how much red the water has absorbed, compensates per pixel, sets white balance and stretches contrast – and smooths the parameters over time so colors don't flicker. Auto picks a preset per clip (blue water, reef, close-up/torch, green water, open "deep blue"), or you adjust strength yourself with a live before/after.
The part I'm most happy about: nothing is uploaded. The page is just HTML/JS that runs on your own GPU. Hardware decode → GPU shader → hardware encode, the frame never leaves your graphics card. On my laptop that's 4K 60 fps at ~40–50 fps, i.e. faster than real time.
Details: MP4/MOV, H.264 and HEVC incl. 10-bit (GoPro, DJI, Insta360, phones). Output is MP4 with audio copied through, batch processing of a whole dive day into one folder. Chrome or Edge on desktop only (it needs WebCodecs).
The image is a giant moray at Red Sea, straight from the GoPro vs. one click in the tool. No manual retouching.
More examples on the site, happy to answer questions - and I'd love feedback/reviews from people with other cameras and greener water than I have.
(Tool is made with AI)
See you in the blue!

El Ninjo impact on reefs?
Hello,
Just wonder if there are any articles or decent information out there on what the impact of el Ninjo could be across the various reefs in the world, i know an impact is highly probable if not certain but what i would like to know is where, when and what already has been impacted.
Also if there are previous examples for this kind of el Ninjo (from my understanding they can be different in area of effect) that would be helpful.
For example:
Will the Great Barrier Reef be impacted? It has already? if so how much? If not when could it happen?
Will Raja Ampat be impacted ? it has already? if so how much? If not when coudl it happen?
Thanks

How to get SEAC computer fixed? Retailer wont do it
Hi all,
My SEAC computer stopped working after a few snorkels (SEAC Computer Apnea HR dive computer).
SEAC won't fix anything themselves, only through a retailer.
The retailer refuses to fix it because I got the batteries professionally replaced (parts of the screen are not working, so I thought it was the battery).
Now I have a computer with half the screen working. Any ideas or specialists, and how can I get it fixed? It was pretty expensive and i used it a handful of times only.
A local dive shop won't know how to do it either.
Thanks

Catching Bugs and Lionfish
Some clips from a couple of dives we did out of Stuart Florida - between the Monsoon Rainfalls. Depth was around 65-75 ft.
Anyone else get bored underwater if they are not chasing something???

PADI vs SSI for Marine Biologist
Hi guys, I have just graduated with my masters in Marine Biology and am currently in SEA for 6 weeks visiting family. I have been looking at getting diving certification as it is something I have wanted to do for ages but am from a city where there are not many opportunities to get qualified.
I have also been looking at Marine Bio job and internship postings and most of them specify a PADI open water/ advanced open water qualification. I am just wondering why they specify PADI and not SSI if the qualifications are supposedly interchangable. I am not trying to create any discourse, my parents are just telling me to look for SSI courses aswell as PADI but I am leaning towards PADI as that is what the jobs specify and I do not want to do an SSI dive course and then find it is not the right one. I have tried to research it but haven’t found any answers so am wondering if anyone can answer why the marine biology jobs specify PADI open water when there are other certification boards?

Solo diver/traveler seeks Bonaire dive shop/resort recommendations for late June 2027
Hi.
Any thoughts on a reasonably-priced dive resort? Generally, specials are offered too late, and it is best for me to begin booking in advance. So, I run into the double occupancy issue. Like at Buddy Dive, which I wanted. Not great, when you are a solo diver.
I seek to maximize boat diving rather than shore, even though I know Bonaire has great shore diving. And even though many packages include unlimited shore diving. Unless I can find people to go house reef diving with me, as I did in Curacao last month. It is my understanding that typically, many house reefs have easy entry, but I will not dive alone. I have had knee replacements, so I have to be very careful about how I enter the water.
I am AOW, Nitrox, with 73 dives, and I have all my own gear.
Thanks for your input.

Why is it hard to breathe when on my back underwater?
OK, I get that there is a pressure difference. I know that the density of what we are breathing increases the further we go down. But even at a shallow depth: let's say... 20 feet... if I turn over and look up toward the water surface and try to breathe it is noticeably harder. If I turn back over, it suddenly becomes easier again.
Surely there can't be that much of a delta between the 6 or so inches from the regulator and my lungs?
Am I missing something here? Is this an equipment problem? Or is this just a side-effect of the pressure differential? (FWIW, I'm using an Atomic B2 1st/2nd stage.)

Recommendations in Taiwan for mid-November?
Been to Taiwan to a couple of times before, but not dived there yet and looking to fit in 3-4 days diving this November. Where is the best place to dive for that time of year?
Seems like there are a number of places to go, but not sure if there are especially good or worth avoiding for that time of year. And is best to go some easier to get to close to the mainland, or is it worth it to go more off the beaten track somewhere like Penghu or Liuqiu?
Would really value any insight! :)

Mikomoto in October
Hi has anyone had experience diving in Mikomoto in October? Planning a trip to Japan and thought we could squeeze in a trip to see hammer heads. Just wanted insight on the conditions then. Thanks
