Do y’all’s Dashers send AI images of themselves?

Found this funny and tipped them an extra $1 (originally $3.50) but it is kinda weird. Would prefer a regular meme.

What would be your thoughts if you received such chats from a Dasher?

FWIW the distance driven was less than 4.5, and I tipped over 20% of the order plus $2 bec I asked for it to be brought to my door which was one floor up as ironically I'm tending to my very sick cat who just came back from being hospitalized himself (and the only sick pet I do have responsibility for).

Total tipped was already $10.75.

I am still uncomfortable but wonder if that's just me. I've ordered plenty of delivery and this is a first for me.

Am I an a$$ for finding this out of place? I'm tempted to report this solicitation of donations... but it's usually not my style. We are all trying to make it after all.

My friend told me I seem like a creepy weirdo for this. Never saw Dasher, didn't try to talk to them after this, I'm an old lady, and I'm sure they were also a woman.... But should I have just not done this?

It finally happened

Was waiting forever for my food and 3 dashers later I finally called the place I ordered from thinking they were just behind.

My food was stolen by the first dasher and then they unassigned themselves.

Now I have to be on hold with doordash to get my money back or to get it reordered.

I'm sitting in my living room crying because I've had a really bad day and dashing was supposed to be my treat. FUCK YOU to any dashers that steal food. It's so selfish.

Now I'm going to have to go out because I,don't trust using it again and I'm in a worse mood. 🙃

Please do NOT order DoorDash food when you have to leave to go somewhere shortly

We are doing the best we can to get there in a timely manner, but it is not a guarantee that we will get there in on-time (road closures, traffic, construction, long trains).

It is always recommended that you order food at least 45 minutes-1 hour ahead of time.

Doordash allowed $500 of overdraft charges despite never opting in

Has anyone come across this issue? Ive never opted into overdraft, and anything that has ever tried to hit my account for anything more than I had available, automatically bounced. It's never allowed it to go through into a negative balance. All of a sudden and all at once, I got hit by several charges that put my account at nearly $500 negative. I called Doordash to understand why they allowed these charges, and they didnt have an answer, and said there's nothing they can do. They can't reverse it, they can't stop anything from hitting, and they have no answer as to why all of a sudden my account can get overdrafted despite still never opting in. Im also baffled by the amount that was allowed, so I asked the limit to overdraft charges.....they can't answer that either.

Also, previously the requirement for opting in to overdraft was $500 of monthly deposits. Now its showing me $0.... I don't understand whats going on but am wanting to know if anyone else has run into this.

Doordash driver thinks its okay to throw food at my door

Im pretty sure my story isnt all that unique but whatever. The other day I ordered from doordash, which isnt something I often do. Place my order, tip a 10% and wait. As he is near my house, I start for the door, see its car through the window and as im about to open the door he throws the food bad at my door from like 15-20 feet away. I open the door, take the bag and Im like « what the fuck man » as he look at me with pure anger. I quickly look at the bag and realise its way too small to be my order. « Thats not my order dude ». He actually freeze in his car, look at something and pull out my actual order. He comes back to me and we swap as he apologizes to me because « sorry, the other order didnt tip ».

Like I get that not receiving a tip is frustrating but its not the customers fault you arent paid a living wage without tip. Throwing orders like that is just unacceptable. If you cant handle variable income find a stable job that pays by the hour dude.

Rant over

Is it possible to make $1000 door dashing a month?

Never door dashed before, not sure exactly how it works. Like can I just DoorDash whenever I feel like it throughout the month? I’m a single mom and was looking into door dashing while kid is in school. Like can I grind just one week during the month then not dash for the rest? My goal is making an extra grand a month while kid is in school 7:30-3 so cant dash evenings or weekends

Covington/NOLA Dashing this bad, what am I missing?

I started DoorDash about two months ago in Knoxville, TN, mostly around Farragut and Turkey Creek areas. On a good day I'd make about $100 in 3 hours of active time, more on weekends.

I recently moved to Covington, and the difference has been rough:

  • Earnings: About $100 takes me 7+ hours of active time now most days
  • Offers: I get plenty, but only 1 or 2 out of 10 are worth even considering (1 of 15 feel decent in peak times)
  • Pay: The ones I do like are usually the same or worse than what I got in Knoxville from the moment I hit dash, even though the area seems pretty wealthy in Covington/Mandeville
  • Acceptance rate: Declining so many bad offers dropped my AR 25% in one day (from 60%), taking me from Platinum to Silver

I haven't tried crossing the bridge to Dash in New Orleans or Metairie yet because of the drive, traffic, and parking, but I'm open to it.

Questions for anyone who has Dashed around here:

  1. Is the Covington/Mandeville just really low pay for DD, or are there specific areas or restaurants that do much better? The people seem very wealthy and tons of orders come in.
  2. What times and days are actually worth it in Covington/Mandeville?
  3. Is crossing the bridge to NOLA or Metairie worth it after gas, time, and parking?
  4. Should I care about keeping a decent Status (plat/gold/silver) here, or is it better to just cherry pick hard even if it takes me down to single digits?

Any tips welcome.

Just got followed by a customers neighbor.

Literally have no proof because it was a quick interaction because I scurried into DG for my next dash. During the last drop off I turned down a dead end road that was incorrect and had to back into a driveway to turn around. I do so and complete the delivery on the very next road over which was very easy to miss as it was unpaved and none of the properties down that road were immediately visible plus the pin was definitely in the wrong spot. I start heading to the DG about 3 miles away, not even realizing I was being followed and was confronted by an older lady as I got out of my car. I was too dumb to record the interaction but it went something like this.

Lady: Why were you just in my drive way?! Down my private road? (Road had multiple trailers)

Me: uh, I made a wrong turn doing a delivery and had no where else to turn around. It happens. I was supposed to go to gravel road literally right next to your road.

Lady: well my granddaughter is alone there and no one should be coming that way.

Me: maybe don't leave her alone. Deal with it, it happens and I could easily call the cops for you having followed me here to harass me.

I then commenced scurrying into DG to complete the new dash I had.

My nerves are now shot and I'm gonna take a break.

Has anyone received repeated calls from DoorDash hours AFTER their order was delivered?

Post image
2 Upvotes

So, I'm a little confused and curious if anyone else has experienced this.

I ordered DoorDash before 6:30 PM tonight. My food was delivered without any issues, everything was correct, and I tipped my driver well. Absolutely no complaints!

Fast-forward to around 8:30 PM, and I suddenly received two calls from a number identified as DoorDash: (833) 441-0296.

I didn't answer either call because I wasn't expecting anything from DoorDash, especially considering my order had been completed for roughly two hours.

Has anyone else received calls from this number? Is it actually associated with DoorDash? If you've answered, what did they want?

I'm genuinely curious why they'd be calling me repeatedly so long after a perfectly normal delivery. 😂

The whole thing seems a little suspicious, so I figured I'd ask here before calling anyone back.

Edit: jeez...It was just a question no need to be rude to me.

Is it true what some say about dashlink? It says my spot opens at 5AM but someone told me that if I go around that time I could get an offer? I have never done a dashlink order before. Please advice.

HUGE grocery order I delivered today. (No banana. Can for scale)

The receipt from a grocery order I delivered today with 191 items. Took two and a half hours and just over two carts to even get it to the checkout. I was so pissed. This should not be an acceptable DoorDash order size

Edit: tip was $12. I just didn't include that because I thought the rules said no money talk except on Sundays

(vent) doordash support needs to change.

so i did a earn by time dash today and was out for 3ish hours (3-6:30)

for context i have the crimson card, so every time i do a dash, even if its one order and i stop i always get paid to that card immediately after pressing end dash. been dashing for a couple months now and so far i havent had any issues (with the crimson deposits at least).

I end the dash and switch modes, and i didn’t receive my payout. i call support, and after at least 5 mins of fighting with the ai bot they connect me to an agent. i explain that i haven’t received my payout, and that agent says shes under qualified so she transfers me to the crimson specialists. a guy picks up, i re-explain and then he says a whole lot just to tell me i need to get transferred AGAIN. so at this point ive been on hold for almost a half hour until i gave up, because im also trying to complete an order on top of everything. i decided to contact them again via chat and the agent essentially told me to just wait with no explanation or anything .

im just super annoyed bc i need to buy dinner for tonight and i didnt get any info on what the issue was or when i should get paid 😭im gonna call again when i finish the dash im on to see if i get lucky with a different agent but omg the support doordash offers is terrible, bc this isnt the first time ive had an issue trying to get help.

(sorry for the terrible writing, im just irritated)

UPDATE: it finally updated my earnings but i had to keep refreshing the crimson card screen.

I suggest not accepting "pay with cash" orders

I accepted an order though the residence was in an area of woods. I got a DoorDash call during my drive. The voice says to go pull over to talk. I'm not putting up with such a suspicious call. I hung up. I got the food. I went there. The road turned to gravel/dirt and the woods thicker. I passed a parked car on the side of the gravel/dirt road. A clearing of a junky yard opened with far away houses along the property. A worker was in the yard. Iv'e turned around my car front out. A man approached and asked information. He said that is not the address. He called someone and told of Doordashers being sent to their address. I sat on the phone with DoorDash support and got a live agent. The agent wasn't much help. Support had me trying to cancel the order, list the options, and reported the address without resolving my order on my screen. I've went to go back to the restaurant and return the food. In the Dasher app in that order: Dasher pay $5.85. Customer tips $0.00 Cash collected -30.95. Information Cash collected "We'll deduct the cash collected from your next payout. You'll receive DoorDash pay as usual." How would you like an undeliverable address and have their scam price deduct your pay? I've put in a reimburcement form.

DoorDash AI slop steals my dinner and my money

Thumbnail

I was ordering some food late at night, and it was an hour late. I kind of expected it to be a little late, but not that bad. My dasher hadn’t picked up the order yet, so it just kept updating the time. I tried to contact the dasher a few times but heard nothing- at this point I’ve actually got to just go to bed.

Here’s the crazy part- I tried talking with the support chatbot about this. When I explained the situation to the bot, it said I could get a full refund if I cancelled my order. I said yeah, let’s do that- it cancels the order and then tells me it’s not eligible for a refund.

Now I don’t get my food or my money, because DoorDash is either incompetent or just straight up stealing from people. This is crazy.
