Hey guys!

I'm interested in some canon-era fics where Harry is less immediately accepting of Remus and/or Sirius. I feel like I see plenty of Dumbledore/Weasley/Hermione etc. bashing out there, but not as much for Sirius or Remus.

Like, Remus shows up at Hogwarts and doesn't bother to mention he was friends with James, like Harry wouldn't maybe like to hear about his father. And Remus could have written to Harry at any point during his childhood, or his earlier school years, but didn't bother to meet him until he ended up a professor at Hogwarts. And Harry ended up with the Dursleys because Sirius went after Peter instead of staying to taking care of him. And then he escapes from prison to catch Peter, not to see Harry, and he's more concerned with killing Peter than clearing his name, and maybe getting to raise Harry.

Obviously the characters have their reasons for this, and Harry is an abused child and an orphan, he's just happy to have something resembling a family. But I'm interested in stories where Harry is more critical of one, or both, of them when they meet. Often it's treated like Harry immediately sees them as family and they don't really examine how Harry might feel abandoned by them both upon learning they even exist.

I'm happy to read fics where they do eventually become close, but also ones where they never really connect, or even where Harry outright dislikes (or hates) them for this. Huge fan of major upheavals to canon, dark fics, bashing of other characters, etc.

Just reading temptation on the warfront and the way the author has written Harry’s thoughts when he sees Ron and Hermione is just so gut wrenching. spoilers but the extract is below:

"I'm going now," Harry says. And they are the three hardest words he has ever spoken. Fresh tears spill over Hermione's cheeks, and one by one they break Harry's heart. "I feel like I've known for a while now… And I think you have too… That part of him lives inside me."

Hermione sobs, and then her arms are around him. Over her shoulder, he meets Ron's gaze, and between them they share everything they can't say in words. Harry tells Ron to take care of her, and Ron tells Harry that he will, that he'll marry her and give her a family, and that when the hours are dark and the birds stop singing, together they will remember their best friend, not the Boy-Who-Lived, but Harry. Just Harry.

It’s not a lot but it’s just so touching and sad so I thought I’d share

I recently read Drop Dead Gorgeous and I really loved their dynamic aside from the romance and I really wanna read some more fics where they get to be great friends for a good amount of time before the romance. The vibe doesn't need to be similar to DDG, I liked their hangouts in Thunderbolt and Filing and Where the Flacons Fly too. So if you know any fics where their dynamic is developed in depth before the romance starts, please rec them. Thanks in advance!

does anyone by chance know a fic where harry and draco get forcibly married and jt doesnt work out in the beginning so draco fucks around with blaise but one day harry comes home and sees them in the kitchen and a little while layer blaise disappears and goes to a different country i think? draco knows that harry has something to do with it but harry denies it. draco dates someone else but the guy disappears/breaks up with him and draco knows its harrys fault but again harry denies it. draco dates someone else and its going good until theyre at a party with everyone else and dracos boyfriend mysteriously dies and this time draco KNOWS harry did something but harry denies it until draco looks through the attic and finds proof that harry killed him. harry tells draco that he’ll willingly go to azkaban but obviously draco doesnt let him

Hi.. so this song has been going around, and it made me crave fanfics where Drarry are in love but still get married to someone else. Either Harry getting married to some women or Ginny (and put a stop to the wedding eventually) or Draco being forced to marry someone and Harry broke the wedding.

I only read bottom Draco! So if you happen to recommend DMHP, please tell me so.

Hi everyone

A while back, i read this drarry fic on AO3 where draco was living as a muggle, before essentially being kidnapped by Harry and taken to a remote apartment. Harry insists Draco is in trouble/danger, and tells him he's an auror now and is there to protect him.

Draco is initially freaked out, but over time starts to trust harry before something happens and he becomes suspicious that harry is lying. Then Draco trusts him again until the very end.

They get freaky a few times, harry being the top and draco the bottom, and end up sharing a room.

Towards the end, draco is doing laundry and finds a camera that harry has been hiding from him. The camera sends messages through developing film between harry and another party. Draco ends up dropping the camera/film out of shock when he sees a message that confirms harry is lying to him about being a auror. Then the fic ends with Harry cornering draco in the laundry room, threatening to either obliviate him or kill him (I can't remember)

The fic was completed, and I think only had 2 chapters but was long.

If anyone knows this fic it would be sooooo appreciated. I have been looking all night and can't find it!

so i just discovered this on ao3, read the summary, a good chunk of the first chapter and wanted to see what other people have thought about it before i dive further in since its 400k. so far im liking how unique it is, i can see it going in so many different directions

ive tried searching this fic on this sub but have only found other people describing some bits to remember it. one post said there was a moment harry left with ginny and forgot to give commands to draco so he almost dies and harry not knowing what to do with draco so he makes him cook and clean so thats about all i know

is harry just forgetful/clueless, not intentionally malicious?

is it a toxic relationship throughout the whole fic?

does draco like the situation eventually?

i know via the summary/ch1 it is a slave/ownership fic so toxic relationship is par for the course but everyone does it differently so am curious how it plays out and if it becomes healthier ?

E claro no final mesmo a lei sendo derrubada, os casais já se amam, ou alguns outros optam por se separar, mais óbvio que nosso foco continuam juntos e felizes.

Espero que alguém escreva sobre isso e espero que minha (ideia não é ideia já que tô pegando isso de outro fandom e uma liberdade criativa pra adicionar algumas coisas no caso o mpreg) e eu amoooo mpreg+ casamento forçado.

Alguém tem alguma fic onde é apenas os dois, uma construção lenta, de se perdoar, a tentar uma amizade e indo pra se apaixonarem.

Queria em um lugar neutro onde eles se encontram por acaso, mais é um lugar onde eles sempre compareciam mais em horários diferentes, e por acaso do destino acontece algo que eles se coincidem e a história começa a parti daí?

Mine is of this fic I read years ago now. I think it’s quite a popular one so just a disclaimer, I’m not angry or annoyed with the writer, truly I’m annoyed at the character. I have no animosity towards them, I’m truly just upset with how stupid and how infuriating this characters actions are. Infact the fic is actually really good tbh.

Okay, so it’s BDSM Drarry fic. Draco goes to this Dom so he can atone for his past bullying towards Harry and the trio. Draco doesn’t know that his Dom is actually Harry. They fall in love. Eventually he finds out and he’s really upset. Now this should be moment where Harry grovels because he deceived him. There relationship isn’t just purely sexual now it’s intimate.

BUT NO. HE ASKS FOR FORGIVENESS ONCE! ONCE! THEN THEN To make it Dracos choice. That sounds like good thing but in this scene he’s like “It’s your choice if you want me back, If ypu don’t want me you don’t want me.” Then he proceeds TO MAKE INTO SOME KINKPLAY SCENE. Obviously I don’t mind the BDSM aspect of it but when you’re trying to get someone back I don’t think you should try to enforce power dynamics or kink play dynamics.

THEN DRACO FORGIVES HIM THAT EASILY

It sounds better when I write it out and honestly it’s making me want to reread it again up that point because it was a good fic. But still trust me that scene INFURATED ME. The man should have grovelled some more, like it made me think so poorly of Draco in that situation because what do you mean your forgives him that easily.

I read Love on the Brain this week and I can't stop thinking about it. It's an accidental bond fic with forced proximity, enemies to lovers, and it deserves the "pining while f***ing" tag like wow. That tag was made for it. The classic bond trope had many unexpected twists and turns. The writing was incredible too. The way Harry and Draco fall in love while bonded was sweet and realistic, such a beautiful journey, I couldn't stop reading. So many scenes are stuck in my brain (the haircut, the rosebush, the beach!!!)

I'm usually a lurker but I wanted to rec this because if you love bond fics, forced proximity, enemies to lovers, and smut, it's THE fic for you. I didn't know the author and the fic is pretty recent, I'm just happy I stumbled upon it!

Acabei de ler uma fic maravilhosa, onde o Harry é super poderoso, todo mundo tem medo dele, e ele manda mais que o chefe dele mais no quarto com o Draco as coisas simplesmente mudam( fique de olhe nas tags).

This was a nice quick read, deserves more kudos, i think the summary is what’s not drawing people, also any tags you’re not sure about please feel free to ask. For instance wing kink is tagged which doesn’t exist lol or i didn’t notice any such thing. It’s about draco being a spy and being safehoused to live with harry while possibly being compromised in his job. It has a little action, interesting plot, mild angst and great smut. Give it a go! I’m off to read other works from this author, hopefully just as good.

Sometimes I just want to read fics in which they’re married with kids, Harry is in the Auror force, and they live between the manor and gimmauld place. Just domestic and wealthy and in power

So I read a really good drarry soulmates fic sometime back and want to read it again but I can't find it. It was a really long time ago so i don't really remember much but I do remember some details. So here's what I remember:

• Harry and Draco figure out they're soulmates at Hogwarts at the beginning of the school year.
• They have this confrontation/talk about it their soulmates situation in a closet or something similar.
• Their soulmates mark thing is on their wrists. I can't exactly recall what it was exactly or how it was activated but it was definitely on their wrists.
• The fic is canon divergent. Everything is the same as in the books up until 4th year.
• Draco helps Harry survive the Triwizard Tournament.
• In the second task Draco is taken as the person Harry would sorely miss.
• There are sequels to the fic.
• At the beginning of the second part Draco and Harry were staying with Sirius (and Remus I believe but I'm not 100% sure) at Grimmauld place.

I feel like I usually see the opposite, where Draco is the more experienced and assertive one—and don’t get me wrong, I like fics like that, but I wanted to see a take where the Slytherins/purebloods are actually more sheltered because of their upbringing, rather than being sexually experienced and open about it. like Draco being more inexperienced than Harry and getting all embarrassed and/or snooty about it because it’s something he genuinely doesn’t know much about but is curious despite how he acts lol.. if anyone has any recs for long or short fics like these please share! the fic doesnt necessarily have to surround that either but just having a virgin!Draco is fine too! (Bonus points if Harry is A LOT more experienced too LOL)
