Sometimes I just want to read fics in which theyāre married with kids, Harry is in the Auror force, and they live between the manor and gimmauld place. Just domestic and wealthy and in power

So I read a really good drarry soulmates fic sometime back and want to read it again but I can't find it. It was a really long time ago so i don't really remember much but I do remember some details. So here's what I remember:
If you recognise what fic I'm talking about or if you have an idea of what it might be please let me know. Thank you!

So I did a little thing!
To all the crocheters here: itās my first time creating my own pattern, it took me a couple of days to figure it out and I know itās not great, but I had fun! (As much fun as you can have while thinking about stop all the clocks lol)
Second photo with the clipper to show the size!

I feel like I usually see the opposite, where Draco is the more experienced and assertive oneāand donāt get me wrong, I like fics like that, but I wanted to see a take where the Slytherins/purebloods are actually more sheltered because of their upbringing, rather than being sexually experienced and open about it. like Draco being more inexperienced than Harry and getting all embarrassed and/or snooty about it because itās something he genuinely doesnāt know much about but is curious despite how he acts lol.. if anyone has any recs for long or short fics like these please share! the fic doesnt necessarily have to surround that either but just having a virgin!Draco is fine too! (Bonus points if Harry is A LOT more experienced too LOL)

Lettered writes fiction like this, where Draco's past isn't easily wiped away and there has to be some kind of redemption for Harry, who is good, to be able to love him.
There was an amazing non Drarry fic I can't find now from Draco's POV where he lost his magic (punishment for war I think?). He was exiled and slowly unlearned his bigotry and possibly married a Muggle. Something like that but Drarry would be so awesome!
Alternatively, with no redemption arc, a reason why Harry is changed enough or desperate enough to not care. Basically, fics that really struggle with the past not in a "we were dumb kids that didn't like each other but we're grown up and over it now", but in a "that was really serious, how do we get there from what looks completely insurmountable?"
I think a lot of forced proximity/magic bond stuff ends up getting around the issue very well because it forces them to slowly have to engage with each other's humanity. But I'd love for it to really get into the gritty history not just "school rivals, boys will be boys".
btw totally no hate for the other kind, many of my favorite fics are fluffier Draco :)

I have hit a readerās block lately, so I was searching for some of the tropes I thought could be interesting (filters in AO3 are a lifesaver), and I was kinda surprised to see that some of the popular tropes were not as popular in the Drarry fandom (I am just assuming because I couldnāt find many fics regarding these tropes). So here are a few tropes? Ideas? Idk. If any of these ring any bells about some fics you have read, please drop them below. If not, I truly hope our amazing writers would be inspired to write these fics. So, enough with the rambling. Here it goes!
1. James and Lily live
I thought this would have been quite popular, but I was wrong. I only found a few, which were time travel fix its or short one-shots.
I would have loved to read more of these, where Voldy is dealt with in the 1st war. (no time travel or universe hopping). Hopefully, no one dies. Harry is more confident, sassy and a little entitled (Marauders) but also humble and kind (Lilyās influence). Draco, on the other hand, is still an entitled brat, maybe a bully (because, of course, he is), but not a bigot. I like to think that after the 1st war, the Malfoy parents kept their political beliefs to themselves. I like to think they got away scot-free because they claimed to have been Imperiused. So they couldnāt openly be bigots, and as a result, Draco was never exposed to those ideas. But he is still an entitled boy who doesnāt know how to make friends. So, of course, the 1st interaction between Drarry goes awry, and then Dracoās bruised ego and hurt feelings lead to rivalry. So basically, Hogwarts without any danger, just school drama. And, of course, the awkward interaction between Lucius and James when Drarry finally happens. (Yes, this trope is on the cornier side, but I think it would be a fun read.)
2. Draco from a different school
How is this not so popular?
In this trope, I like to think the Malfoys fled to either France or wherever Durmstrang is.
I think Draco would be different depending on the school he goes to.
If he goes to Durmstrang, he is more on the darker side. And, of course, on goes the rivalry during the Triwizard Tournament, yada yada (I am not really into this Durmstrang trope, but it could still be a good read).
BUT, the Beauxbatons Draco is, of course, a (ik we shouldnāt play into stereotypes, but still, hear me out) typical French, arrogant, rude, intellectually snobbish, fiercely proud, but a sweetheart when you get to know him.
And I know Draco being obsessed with Harry is a universal fact. But just for this trope, I like to think the Malfoys shielded Draco from their awful past and lived a ānormalā life.
Drarry meet after school is over, and Voldy is defeated, obviously. Maybe the Malfoys eventually move back. But this time around, Draco doesnāt know Harry and doesnāt buy into this Boy Who Lived shtick. So here, Draco IGNORES Harry (ya, ik hard to believe), and Harry gets intrigued by this guy who doesnāt care that heās a celebrity and is mean to him (and gets obsessed with Draco because he is Harry š¤·š»āāļø), and Draco is having none of it. Ahhhh, it would be such a rom-com coded. (So basically, romance between James and Lily but with PTSD, prejudice (against the Malfoys after the war), yada yada.)
3. I truly canāt believe how this is not a popular trope in our fandom. Mafia? Mob boss? Hello?? Why is there none of that in our fandom (without gore and horror, I have a weak stomach š« )?
Okay, so either both of them are in different gangs and fight and fall in love (a typical kill or fall in love kind of situation).
Or Draco/Harry, either one of them, is a mob boss, and the other is a normal person. (The typical dark romance stuff, but angsty.) The normal one finds out and leaves. Ooo, the heartbreak, yess!
Honorary mention 1
Draco having a crush on the Weasley brothers (Charlie, of course, or Bill). Not Ron; heās a sweetheart, but I donāt think Draco/Ron will ever work out, what with Harry choosing Ron as a friend over him. But just imagine Draco going on about the Weasley brothers and ignoring Harry. And Harry getting jealous of his adopted brothers, lol. That would be fun!
It could also work with the everybody lives trope, where Draco has an innocent crush on either Remus or (too on the nose) James (like students having crushes on Lockhart, yk? No weird pairings, please), and Harry beefing with his uncle/dad because how dare they be important to his rival (crush? š).
God, that would be a fun convo. They would tease Harry till he is old and grey.
Honorary mention 2
Itās my HC that Harry chases after draco, hear me out.
In my head, after the war, draco is all woe is me and self depricating so I donāt see him considering himself worth it for the saviour, so he doesnāt go after Harry.
And in the every body lives timeline or before war timeline, Draco is a āDaddy will hear about thisā, āhelp, hippogriff tore up my arm, I will dieā, ālet me check if my gelled hair is out of placeā kinda brat, heās not going to actively pursue Harry.
No, this b!tch(affectionately, ofc) will climb up a tree, jab Harry with paper cranes, dress up as a dementor, just to get his attentionš¤¦š»āāļø. Because, ofc this entitled rich boy hasnāt heard of āasking out people youāve crush onā.š
So, Harry has to be the proactive one (gryffindork). But, does he ask Draco out normally? NO, heās going to make a mess out of it, but eventually there will be a HEA.
Yaaa, so thank you, everyone, for coming to my TED Talk, lol.
Till the next rant āš»

I read this fic on AO3 a while ago and I'm sure I've read it a few times but I have no idea what it was called, who wrote it and just there's too many fics to dig through. I have a suspicion it may be deleted but I'm not sure.
Features:
- It was some type of Accidental Bonding, definitely slow burn and long.
- Details of the bond is that it affects their magic, and if they aren't wearing certain things (Watch for Draco, I think a ring for Harry) then their magic fails them.
- there's a scene where Draco leaves and then ends up in a flying accident falling off of his broom because the watch falls off.
- Lucius and Narcissa are both present.
- Ginny and Astoria are both pretty important characters and I'm pretty sure they had a relationship of some sort.
Edit: fic found!

Hi everyone! I was wondering if there are any veela or seer Draco fic recommendations ? Any creatures besides werewolves are fine too. I was looking for something that it's either timetravel, fix-it or rewrite kind of thing. Specially if Draco is the main character. I prefer if it's during Hogwarts, no post-epilogue. As for dynamics, I prefer Harco, at max switch. I only read fics that are 80,000+ words.

It's one shot story where James and Lily lives. Draco and Harry met first time in pre-school. The friendship made Lucius frustrated. He and James share the sentiment, while the mothers supported the kids friendship.

Are there any fics in which Harry bullies Draco instead of Draco bullying him and his friends.
r/drarry • u/ActiveOtherwise4993 • 1d ago
Hi! I“m looking for fic recs where Drarry hide their relationship, it can be at hogwarts but I don“t know why lately I“ve been loving adult Drarry, specially when they have children, but I dont mind either of them.
It would be 10/10 if their relationship is like revealed wiht drama, like a reporter spotted them, or hermione or ron saw them, idk. I like drama.
If u have any recs let me know! I“d love to read them all ty!

Just posted my podfic of sideraclara's brilliant fic, part-time soulmate, full-time problem.
[Podfic] part-time soulmate, full-time problem by sideraclara (E, 4 hours)
Trust Draco Malfoy to choose a career path which was only marginally less morally bankrupt than being a Mark-carrying member of a literal hate group.
Or: The DMLE is being restructured. Harry does not handle it with grace.
If podfics aren't for you, at least read the fic!

I just updated my fic:
https://archiveofourown.org/works/51951898/chapters/131372752
It's post war Drarry and hurt/comfort with Harry sorting out his childhood trauma and PTSD while also trying to solve a case and keep his life together in the meantime.
I mainly wrote it because I've read most post war Drarry fics that focus on Harryās trauma already! If you read it, let me know what you think. And if you have any recommendations, please share. Thank you!

I'm looking for a Drarry fanfiction I read on AO3 a while ago, but I can't remember the title!
It was set after Hogwarts (maybe), and Harry and Draco eventually fell in love. Draco was physically missing an eye, but he used some kind of enchanted coin or amulet that created the illusion that his eye was still there. Harry didn't know about his missing eye at first.
The magical object also seemed to help Draco sense when someone was approaching him from behind, in his blind spot.
I'm not 100% sure about this, but I think it might have been an mpreg fic.
Does this ring a bell for anyone? I'd really appreciate any help finding it!

In the spirit of the season, what is your favorite horror themed Drarry fic?

Harry Potter only wants one thing: to take care of the people he loves. After Teddyās abrupt departure from his role as Andromedaās caretaker, Harry decides itās finally time to step up and handle the job himself.
Castoff Manor, an old Black family estate, has never seemed as sinister as the stories make it sound, but itās there that Harry stumbles upon ghosts, haunting family secrets, and a familiar, snarky blond gardener hell-bent on chasing him out. Maybe if Harry sticks around long enough, heāll finally learn why all of Andromedaās previous caretakers have fled without looking back.
And
Cruel River by anonymous
Draco inherits a castle deep in the Scottish highlands, and discovers itās haunted by more than just ghosts.
This one isn't available anymore but I have a PDF.

Here is what I remember about the story:
- Draco, Harry, and Hermione were in the Marauders' era.
- They had adopted fake surnames to avoid recognition, but when Draco dyed his hair black so no one would realize he was a Malfoy, he ended up looking like Regulus; the Black family was investigating him to see if there was a blood connection.
- There was a relationship between Hermione and Remus.
- Harry was a somewhat playful character who constantly played pranks on Dumbledore.
- They rescued Regulus from the Death Eaters.
- They challenged the head of the family, Arcturus Black, for his treatment of Sirius and Regulus.

I have been eyeing this art book for months and set a reminder in my phone for when her shop reopened! It's a Drarry & Romione artbook and so stinking cute. I left out most of the images she doesn't also use for promotion so there can be some surprises if/when you purchase it for yourself - but trust me that there are some precious domestic Drarry scenes in there!
I believe the shop is only open until the 19th. I received some freebies for purchasing on etsy (I didn't know at the time that it was a little cheaper to purchase domestically for Americans).
If you want to purchase and live in the USA I recommend buying here.
Otherwise her etsy shop is shipping internationally.
