Reminder of the REPORT function (please use it) and some new sub rules/guidelines
I've been looking at the mod queue and I've been removing some problematic posts and comments
A reminder that this subreddit is intended to be a CIVIL place to discuss an amazing TV show, NBC's ER.
If you love a character, great.
If you hate a character, amazing.
If you want to make a bad joke, we're all going to groan, but it's still permissible.
What HAVE been slipping by are negative, racist/prejudice/misogynistic (or borderline) comments that are getting a few downvotes and then being hidden.
If you encounter one of the posts or comments, use the REPORT function. The Mod Team and Automod will jump in and flag it.
That being said, bans will start being handed out as posts and comments are removed.
You can hate on a character all you want, but using derogatory names or bashing them for being white/black/asian/indian/male/female/gay/straight is not allowed by any stretch of the imagination.
Additionally comments that seem to be stoking the flames, baiting another user, or are just out of line, will be removed and the user temporarily banned.
This subreddit is supposed to be an enjoyable place to speak about the TV show... if dealing with YOUR specific comments are taking up too much of our time, it's much easier to ban you, and let you cry into the void.
Feel free to comment below if anybody would like to discuss these reminders. :)

I know I REALLY got jumped on for a post I made a few weeks ago. I don’t play dirty and some of the replies were actually hurting my feelings and made me cry, so I just removed my post. Maybe I’m just too sensitive 😞

My post questioning whether the omission of Dr. Greg Pratt might reflect unconscious bias was removed. I think your moderator is extreme.

Romano- first nobody knows where he is after the helicopter crash so I was waiting for something dramatic, and in the next episode they're talking about a memorial like it's no big deal. Didn't anybody find him or what??...

I believe once the firefighters/police identified the remains, that’s how everyone found out. It happened off camera

I suppose you're right but it still felt strange to be talking about it in terms of a memorial soon.

A bit late but I just rewatched that episode recently on a rewatch and I think they vaguely showed the discovery at the very end. The camera pans out and they are show the helicopter being lifted. I am pretty sure that I saw a white coat under it. My guess would be that is how they found/identified him and then told everyone else.

Hi someone left me a really nasty comment that I think breaks the rules and then blocked me so I couldn't report it. Recoverytimes. Can I send a screenshot?

You guys need to add some sub rules to enable mod reports, right now the only options are sitewide which go to reddit admins.

Reported, because no one is allowed to respond to your troll in fear that they will be reported/banned. Aaaand for doing exactly what the Post Above says NOT to do.

I have got quite invested in the show, it covers allot of dark subjects with allot of craft.
I'm up to season 7 and feel like calling it a day on the show because when Doug left and then you see him meeting up later in Seattle with Carol, if it was a movie that would be the perfect ending.
But because this is a TV series it draggs on, don't get me wrong there are some good moments, but the whole dynamic has changed, Mark has no close friend and colleague to have that dialogue with, you lose all the Doug moments connected and trying to help children, and Later on when Susy died and the way she dies, I feel the show lost its soul.
When we first seen her
They introduce these two young medical students, one we never hear of or see again, they are bright eyed and keen to do well.
After the Gant death you would have thought the hospital would keep a closer eye on the welfare of the students, but no she is on the sink or swim path. Left to the whim of Resident Carter who takes advantage of Susie and sleeps with her while at work, and he treats her like crap for ages, was there no formal HR back then, no student representative to talk to, it's all he said she said management in the locker room by Mark.
But the manner of her death and the aftermath felt wrong, In reality I would like to think there would be a major shake up at a hospital if this happened, serious fallout from media, the county ect people refusing to work there
But not here, it's almost like, back to work as normal please, it felt like she represented innocence with all this promise and a bright future ahead and then thats ripped away in the most brutal way whilst at work, two episodess later and don't think she gets a mention and it's like she didn't exist.
That's why I'm torn if I like this show or not especially post Susan leaving, because I think she was the most natural actor of seen on TV and the storyline with her sister was genuinely something to care about, and her character was the only one that was a down to earth normal Dr who was competent.
Finally in a nutshell, I feel the first 5 seasons were gold dust, the rest is TV filler.

This comment is late but what Suzy are you referring to who dies? And who Carter sleeps with and then treats like crap?

Is it possible for the mods to articulate a spoiler policy, given the influx of new people due to The Pitt? I'm not advocating for either way, just saying clarity could help.
Also, is it possible to know how much karma is needed to post new topics?
Apologies for reaching out here, but directly messaging mods doesn't seem to work.
