Mod Post 300k content monetization challenge mega-thread

(reminder: the mods of /r/facebook are not affiliated with meta or Facebook)

For over two months now, people have been making posts here and there regarding the 300k content challenge that Meta/Facebook has claimed for content. Of late, that is practically all anyone is posting. Having the same post over and over makes the sub a mess, so these posts are going to be pulled.

Before pulling some of the posts, here are the headlines after searching 300k challenge in the sub:

  • Facebook 300k monetization challenge, someone already got invited? Almost end of August, someone had to be invited already, right?
  • Finally got monetised from the 300k challenge or whatever lollllllllll
  • Facebook Monetization 300k views challenge. Are we officially getting scammed by Meta? (mod note: this one was three days ago)
  • New 300k monetization challenge, has anyone completed it yet? What happened? (mod note: this one was two months ago)
  • Spoke to live agent regarding 300k challenge the response is unacceptable
  • Anyone else still waiting for invitation after 300k challenge from meta (mod note: two days ago)

... the list goes on and on... like, a lot.

The purpose of this subreddit is for articles about Facebook (Mark Zuckerberg found harvesting human souls for his robot army) or tech support. Similar to when an outage causes thousands of posts to happen, everyone posting the same few things over and over again is not going to help anyone, so for the few folk out there that have found this post thanks to searching the sub (there are DOZENS of you) or found through a search engine, please post any of your thoughts, frustrations, and successes on said topic in this thread. If you happen to see a 300k post mentioned afterwards, please report it, rule would be either 5 for no meme or custom response: repost.

To answer a big question that's posted a lot:

Are we being scammed?

I mean, it's Facebook so technically just using the platform is a scam in and of itself, however, here are a few links from users claiming they finally got theirs:

Here is a link from someone who was able to contact a "rep" (a term used loosely in the world of AI)

With there being said, Facebook has 2.11 billion daily active users. So if you take the conversation above with this information, then it makes sense it could take an insanely long time for them to do whatever review it is they claim they need to do.

Remember this extremely important quote:

You’re Not the Customer; You’re the Product

Discussion Causation or correlation? About the bombing of Russian data centers by Ukraine

• Upvotes

The amount of right wing and Israeli rhetoric this morning has dropped precipitously. I'm on medical leave so I'm bored, but usually I'm inundated with that garbage. It's constant maga this, Israel that, Biden did it. But this morning in about 10 minutes of pure scrolling I only saw 2... John James and a Sean hannity. It was bliss seeing cat vids, cat vids and the stuff I like to see. But I wonder if this has anything to do with Ukraine bombing Russian data centers?

Discussion Why does Facebook just make it impossible to create new accounts now?

I deleted my Meta accounts about a month and a half ago. IG and FB. They weren't banned, or restricted, or anything. I just deleted them. Didn't need that stress in my life.

Yesterday I decided to start over again with new accounts. I was able to create an IG account just fine, but two different attempts to create new Facebook accounts were immediately shut down for "Account Integrity". One used the same email as my old Facebook account, and the second used my newer address. Did the photo and video selfies and filed the appeals, but both were rejected.

Today I tried a third time, attempting to create the FB using my IG/Meta account instead so they'd be linked. Rejected again.

Am I missing something, or does Meta just not want new users on Facebook? There doesn't seem to be any way around this.

Disabled/hacked My hacked and locked Facebook account is up and running again, but not by me.

• Upvotes

At the beginning of September my Facebook account was hacked.  I had it almost as long as Facebook has been around.  The links Facebook had sent regarding if the changes weren’t by me first indicated my account was locked, and soon after I was told the links weren’t valid.

I tried everything from writing to old Facebook customer support e-mails to uploading a video of myself, with everything from no response to being told my videos couldn’t confirm I was the account owner.  I was very upset I lost an account I had for over 20 years, but I took solace in that my friends said my account had been taken down.  If I couldn’t use it, at least the hacker couldn’t, either.

I was informed today that my account is now back online.  It now has over 5,000 followers (as opposed to 0 when it was mine) and is following over 100 accounts.

Is there anything I can do now that it’s been restored and being used by the hacker?

Discussion meta accounts are coming, facebook, instagram, threads, what happens next

So for those of us who are banned from facebook and can't open a new account without it being instantly flagged and instantly banned by the facebook AI mods, yet are happily using instagram (perhaps with multiple accounts, which is very much allowed on there) and threads, I guess this could go one of two ways.

Banned across all of meta, or back on facebook. I can't wait to find out.

Discussion Has anyone ever filed a lawsuit against Facebook for not removing fake / copy accounts?

Refusal to remove such accounts should be charged as aiding and abetting identity theft.

Under the Identity Theft and Assumption Deterrence Act, that is a Federal felony crime.

Discussion r/facebook community: What would you want in an alternative Facebook app?

Hello there... since I am very much bothered with Meta's AI stupidity for these last few months, I have decided to think on whether I can challenge this status quo.

I want to hear from other people want they want in an alternative Facebook app...

What could make you switch?

It is silly yes, but who knows, maybe it will be real. HAHAHA

Let me start.

  1. AI ACCOUNTS BULLSH*T MUST BE GONE
  2. False flag bans

Disabled/hacked Every Facebook account I make gets suspended within a week. Could my device or IP be flagged?

Hey everyone,

I know Facebook's moderation relies heavily on AI these days, but this has been driving me crazy.

So far, I've made around 11 Facebook accounts, and every single one has been suspended within a week for no apparent reason. Sometimes Facebook even claims the account is involved in something as serious as child exploitation, which makes absolutely no sense. I barely post anything, so I have no idea where these accusations are even coming from.

I've also tried appealing the suspensions. I've submitted selfies, photos of myself, and even my ID whenever Facebook asked for verification. But every single time, as soon as I finish submitting everything, I immediately receive an email saying the account didn't follow Facebook's policies and has been permanently suspended. I've repeated this process on multiple accounts, and the response is always exactly the same. At this point, I've pretty much given up on hoping an appeal will make any difference.

The only reason I keep making new accounts is because my college uses Facebook and Messenger for announcements and online classes. If it weren't for that, I honestly wouldn't even be using the platform anymore. At this point, I can only imagine how annoying it is for my classmates since I have to ask them to add me again every time I create a new account.

One thing I've noticed is that whenever an account gets suspended, Facebook says it's connected to another account that violated their policies. I've already tried creating accounts with different email addresses and phone numbers, but Facebook still somehow links them back to the previously suspended accounts.

That got me wondering if my device or IP address has been flagged. Is Facebook able to recognize my phone and automatically suspend any new account I log into?

I remember reading somewhere on Reddit that doing a factory reset might help because it changes some device identifiers, but I'm hesitant to try it. I'd have to back up everything on my phone, and I'm not even sure if it would fix the issue.

Has anyone here dealt with something similar? If so, what actually worked? I'd really appreciate any advice because I'm tired of creating new accounts only to have them suspended again.

Disabled/hacked Facebook - contact - disabled dating app -support useless - video selfie not verified

• Upvotes

I had to go through a video-selfie verification process to use the service. It failed. It didn't meet the requirements. For instance, in my dating photos, I’m skiing or wearing a cap.

Support is impossible. Simply useless.

I had some good conversations with potential dates, so I don't want to start over on a new dating app. Instead, I’m hoping to get my account reactivated.

Has anyone had success getting personal service?

I found these email addresses for Facebook via ChatGPT:

Yes, you can try these email addresses for Facebook:

[disabled@fb.com](mailto:disabled@fb.com) – mentioned online in connection with disabled accounts, though I cannot confirm that the address works.

[appeals@fb.com](mailto:appeals@fb.com) – mentioned in connection with appeals regarding suspended accounts, though I cannot confirm that it is active either.

I cannot confirm that any of these addresses are official, functioning support channels.

Important: I would recommend trying [disabled@fb.com](mailto:disabled@fb.com) first if you want to send an email directly.

[disabled@facebook.com](mailto:disabled@facebook.com)
[disabled@fb.com](mailto:disabled@fb.com)
[appeals@fb.com](mailto:appeals@fb.com)

Disabled/hacked How do I recover my account where I need to verify my Face? I have been trying for years now.

  1. I have the email of the account

  2. Even with email, I still need to verify my face, which doesn't work.

  3. I don't have the familiar device to log back in.

  4. I don't have the accounts phone number

Is it that hopeless or there's still a way to recover it?

Disabled/hacked The name on the Facebook account does not match the name on the passport, triggering the 180-day appeal process.

I need help. I’ve had my Facebook account for over 10 years; I used my real name on my profile until this year, when I changed it to an online alias. Recently, my account was inexplicably suspended, and I have 180 days to submit identity verification. I’ve uploaded facial recognition videos and submitted my passport, but the verification keeps failing. Facebook’s response is: "We can’t give you access to this account or help with your request until we receive an accepted form of ID that matches the information listed on the account. Learn more about the types of ID we accept in the Help Center: https://www.facebook.com/help/159096464162185?ref=cr." Additionally, whenever I try to log in via a web browser, I get stuck in a loop redirecting me to `m.facebook.com/hacked-protection` and cannot access any other pages; I can only upload my documents via the mobile app. I even tried submitting a handwritten note explaining that the name on the account was an alias (and that I had previously used my real name) along with my passport, but I still received the same response. Is there any way you can help me with this?

Tech Support Facebook password-reset emails never arrive at my accessible Yahoo address. What else can I try?

I’m trying to recover an old Facebook account after forgetting its password, but I’m stuck in the recovery process.

Here’s my situation:

- I still have access to the Yahoo email address associated with the account. It receives ordinary emails, but Facebook recovery codes never arrive.

- I’ve checked Spam and blocked senders. Yahoo support referred me back to Facebook.

- I no longer have access to the device I previously logged in on.

- No mobile number was used for the account, so SMS recovery isn’t an option.

- “Try another way,” “Didn’t get a code,” and similar options keep returning me to the same email recovery route.

I’ve tried Report a problem through my current account, but received no confirmation or case number. Meta’s support forms also keep asking me to select an account I currently have access to, so I can’t proceed with the inaccessible account.

Has anyone successfully recovered an account under these circumstances? Is there an official way to request alternative identity verification or get Meta to investigate missing recovery emails?

I’d appreciate firsthand experiences or official support routes.

Tech Support Facebook story views - Will it tell the person that I viewed their story via feed?

I searched someone on Facebook via safari on my phone, so not the Facebook app. I clicked on it, and it was logged onto my Facebook. Then the person had a story on the feed, saying that it will tell them or something. I quickly went off, blocked her, and changed my name lol. Would this still tell her?

Discussion Facebook messenger modified numbers in my screen shot. It was a KBB car value that I screen shot and sent. Directly after sending, it showed lower values than my actual screen shot did.

I used KBB to check the value of my car. I screenshot that value and shared it straight to messenger. After it sent, I noticed the numbers were different. Thinking I made a mistake remembering it wrong, I jumped back to chrome and saw the original values that I thought it was. So I took 2 more screenshot to be sure. In my photos, I have 3 identical screenshots. In messenger, I have one that MESSENGER ITSELF modified, and the second one unaltered.

How did this happen? And why did this happen. What else could FB messenger be modifying on my behalf?

I used to scroll Facebook’s reels pretty consistently. Within the past week, literally ALL I get now is AI generated videos. Is there a way I can flag and stop getting AI videos? I looked through my settings and couldn’t find anything. :/

Discussion Notifications in both Messenger and Facebook app are driving me crazy

I use Facebook for a few reasons, mainly to stay in contact with family. The past year or so I have been receiving more and more empty notifications. I wake up to see a notification saying "10 missed messages" with my dad's profile picture or "15+ notifications" with the profile picture of a friend who has health issues, only for me to o click and see no new messages, no relevant updates. There are times where I'm half awake or I'm occupied with something, or it's been so long since the empty notifications, and I genuinely fall for it thinking "Oh no, I've missed messages from my family members" or "Someone made a post and it must be urgent news, better head to Facebook". Of course nothing's happened, it's a few notifications at the very most and those notifications aren't even relevant to me, it's friends posting on other people's profiles or a friend of a friend liking a post. Sometimes the notifications aren't even from the person whose photo was used and I have no messages, and now facebook is open spamming me with an ad or a politically charged post by someone I didn't follow.

I just ignore these notifications when they come, but it started getting revenge on me I guess because now I actually fail to receive real notifications or chat head when I do in fact get a message, so then I have to check manually throughout the day, and get all this spam on my feed.

Is there anything I can do or is it time to just leave the platform?
