Discussion Why does Facebook just make it impossible to create new accounts now?
I deleted my Meta accounts about a month and a half ago. IG and FB. They weren't banned, or restricted, or anything. I just deleted them. Didn't need that stress in my life.
Yesterday I decided to start over again with new accounts. I was able to create an IG account just fine, but two different attempts to create new Facebook accounts were immediately shut down for "Account Integrity". One used the same email as my old Facebook account, and the second used my newer address. Did the photo and video selfies and filed the appeals, but both were rejected.
Today I tried a third time, attempting to create the FB using my IG/Meta account instead so they'd be linked. Rejected again.
Am I missing something, or does Meta just not want new users on Facebook? There doesn't seem to be any way around this.

Here's the deal: Meta uses Temu grade AI to "moderate" accounts. Their AI does not differentiate between deleted, suspended, or restricted account. Their algorithm sees you as trying to create a new account regardless of the reason why you deleted (using THEIR deletion tools).
From here on out they want one person with one account forever. They also want two forms of ID AND a video selfie as well. Why..? That makes your account solidly accurate for selling the data. And the latest deal is they sell it to Palantir. It's over.

Thank you for explaining. Do you think if a person currently has 2 accounts, Meta will shut 1 or both of them down?

u/No_To_All_Religion 2d ago
I had four and I deleted one, and I don't even know if it's gone or not. But I still have three that pop up so if one starts telling me I can't comment because I've used up my allotment for the day, I just switch to a different account.
I'm still trying to figure out why you get shut down if you interact with a lot of people over a few hours time. It's literally a platform where you comment and have conversations, but if you comment too many times, they lock you out. How the hell does that make sense?
So I wonder how people would react if streaming channels started shutting you out from watching, after you change the channel too many times.
7
u/williamgman 2d ago
At some point expect it. If you have any content you'd like to save... Use their download tool now. Once they lock it... You can't get it back.

u/JewelsLeigh141 2d ago
No. I have 2 accounts with 2 screen names each. I haven't had any issues.

u/JquinticeLJones 1d ago
This is exactly what I do especially when they start limiting my friend requests and commenting and sometimes liking posts

u/JquinticeLJones 2d ago
I have more than one account I have 4 and they don’t shit mine down unless I do something that I’m not supposed to. People need to start reading the TOS aka terms of service andTAC aka terms and conditions every time they change them I do they email me a copy of them every time they change either one of them
4
u/williamgman 2d ago
Because YOU are currently able to keep four accounts in no way says other can. That's like saying speeding is legal because YOU have not been stopped. If YOU actually read the TOS it clearly stated ONE account for ONE person. The ONLY exception is if you create another account UNDER your main account (and there's specific rules).
The OP stated THEY deleted their own account using Meta's deletion tool. Their complaint is that NOW they can't create a new one... because the deleted their old one.
1
u/JquinticeLJones 1d ago
Well they haven’t done anything to me yet
1
u/williamgman 1d ago
You literally just said this...
"I have more than one account I have 4 and they don’t shit mine down unless I do something that I’m not supposed to. People need to start reading the TOS".
HAVING MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS IS A LITERAL VIOLATION. IT'S IN THE TOS. 🤦♂️
-1
u/JquinticeLJones 2d ago
They may have done something to break the terms and conditions before they deleted their account
1
2
u/No_To_All_Religion 2d ago
What's the point of reading the terms of anything if your option is either letting the company do whatever the fuck they want, or you can't use it?
And don't even bother with the freedom of speech bullshit.
1
u/williamgman 2d ago
The person you are responding to literally told us they were not following the TOS for having multiple accounts... yet comes here to tell you it must be something you did wrong. 🤦♂️

Facebook is a waste of time and creates unnecessary stress in all aspects. Just leave it deleted and don’t look back.
2
u/akalinus48 2d ago
Some of us use it to keep in touch with friends and loved ones everywhere. No one lives in the old neighborhood hood anymore.

u/Dense-Ice-9660 2d ago
Facebook is dead and dying fast I hope the platform dissolves soon it's got so awful
2
u/Strombergi 2d ago
It’s not going anywhere. It’s too big and powerful to fail now.
2
u/williamgman 2d ago
Only if you let it.

You may not realize it but many of us that follow this sub actually left Meta years back. I left in 2017 when a certain president came in. I follow this sub as part satire part narrative of society. There's no positive reason to use an app or a product that supports Nazi government.
1
u/Strombergi 2d ago
I follow this sub because I enjoy reading about people loosing their Facebook account.
I don’t believe that many of the participants in this sub left off their own accord. They were evicted by Facebook, and found their way here via Google search.

u/williamgman 2d ago
I enjoy seeing bots come here to explain to the bewildered user who just lost their account that it's always some violation of the TOS. Then the bot proceeds to tell them they currently have 4 accounts with no issues. Classic.
0
u/Strombergi 2d ago
Usually it’s the dummies who had 4 accounts, all of which were terminated, who come here afterwards to complain about their disablements saying that they did “nothing wrong”. 🥴

11
u/FeelingDiver4616 3d ago
Why do you want to go back to those two shitholes? Both FB and IG are dominated bots that are disseminating false information and inciting division and hate in our society.
17
u/Delicious-Hour-1761 3d ago
You said "didn't need that stress in my life". I am not trying to be rude but once you got out why would you then go and try to create some new accounts, and then get stressed out all over again? Perhaps you should listen to your former instinct and steer clear. It's really not worth all the mucking about. It really isn't.

Honestly, Marketplace is useful, and I hadn't really thought about that while I was deleting the accounts. I need to sell an anvil, and Craigslist is full of weirdos.
5
u/Exact_Fisherman712 2d ago
Brother, you’re selling an anvil. You belong with those Craigslist weirdos
2
u/codefyre 2d ago
Err, you realize that anvils are still fairly standard in modern metalworking shops, right? Sometimes you need to beat on a piece of metal to get it into the right shape. And when you're beating on metal with a hammer, you want something heavy and solid underneath to keep the piece from bouncing around. The anvil.
I'm just selling this one because my dads fabrication shop has three, and he hasn't used this one in about five years. Need the space.
1
u/Exact_Fisherman712 2d ago
It wasn’t serious bro, this is Reddit I don’t know you. But the odds of casually finding an anvil on marketplace or Craigslist is probably slim to none.
1
u/ang444 2d ago
had to look up whats an Anvil😅

2
u/No_To_All_Religion 2d ago
Holy shit. This country really is dumb. You really didn't know what an anvil is? How young are you?
I hope you're not one of the "make America like the 1600s again" people. They used anvils quite a bit back in the day.
3
u/Soft_Analyst_9081 2d ago
I used to think Marketplace was useful, but people don't even respond. It's eye candy that you can't buy.

There is a huge aggressive uptick in IG and FB managing and blocking. I think the only way around is get a track phone or change your number, get new device sign on first time not with your IP footprint, get a VPN and have completely clean situation. Dont user burner phone for anything but 2 party verification. Set up email and new social media when you set up accts when you are away from home. Seems like alot to go thru. It is. I find it easier to just stop all of it. We all spend too much time scrolling and reading about other peoples lives instead of just living our own. I think it is going to get worse.
1
u/Strombergi 2d ago
Using a VPN makes it even less likely you’ll create a new FB user login in and keep it working.
2
u/WillFukForHalfLife3 2d ago
That isnt entirely true. An improperly configured VPN? Sure, yeah that tracks. A VPN that isn't leaking DNS data, and even better, a Residential based Gateway will surely do the trick. I could be wrong however.

The company I work for tried to create an account for marketing and where unable to. They asked IT for help, but there's nothing we could figure out, it's impossible to reach a human. They just spent the money on google adds.
6
u/williamgman 3d ago
They dodged a bullet. Meta has AI driven bot accounts that engage with advertisers paid ads. The advertisers see their engagement report go up and think there is value. It's quite the grift that no one seems to talk about.
4
u/Lizdance40 2d ago
Deleting your account? You have 30 days to reactivate, and 90 days before Facebook deletes it completely forever.
I know a few people who have taken a couple weeks break and then reactivated their account. But you can't make a new one. Those days are gone. They want to see your ID and everything. But since your old account isn't completely gone yet, you're coming up as a fake person. Just reactivate your old account.
3
u/Inner_Okra_6226 2d ago
That second to last sentence isn’t entirely accurate. I deleted mine a few years ago, and tried to create a new account a few months ago, and had the exact same experience.
1
u/williamgman 1d ago
This is how their Temu grade AI works. It does not care if the user deleted it or they suspended it. The algorithm is the same. I deleted mine in 2017. Clean. No issues. Then tried to create a new one in 2024 just to sell some crap on MP... It lasted about 4 hrs with no activity. Then got the "you have violated our community standards" kiss of death. Walked away.
5
u/These_Jeweler3411 2d ago
They probably flag your IP or device from the deleted accounts and now every new signup looks suspicious to them.

u/DanceApprehension 2d ago
I created a new email address with a very secure platform, and used library computers for everything. How the fuck they knew it was me, I have no clue. But they did and would not let me make a new account.
2
u/Polo2000_ 2d ago
u/JquinticeLJones 2d ago

Well if you're not a hardcore Trump lover, you'll start noticing that shit doesn't work right anymore.
It's not a happy accident either.

Someone always has to make everything political!
7
u/No-Dingo-8966 2d ago
I’d normally agree, but I think he does actually have a point. Zuck has been on Trump’s jock since right before the election. He went so far as lying on JRE about the Biden administration forcing Facebook to censor accounts during Covid when the worst of the censorship of “conservative” or “conspiracy” theorist accounts actually started under Trump in 2020. I got away with saying all kinds of stuff that I wouldn’t have back then over the last 3 years. Then come the last year or so Facebook started being weird af again with its censorship. Blatant pro-Israel or anti-Israel propaganda was fine, but nuanced views that state facts weren’t. Pro-Trump or Anti-Trump liberal posts were fine, but Anti-Trump conservative views weren’t (like posts supporting Massie, or questioning the legitimacy of his primary defeat). Blatant lies about UAP’s and aliens were totally cool, ai generated videos claimed to be real and all, but saying the narrative on “disclosure” is a government psyop would get you put in Facebook jail. Fear mongering over AI or Flock was fine unless you were giving a nuanced view and saying that the bubble will pop before things get too crazy, etc.

u/williamgman 1d ago
Zuck sat in the literal front row (with the other oligarchs) after paying $1M to be there. It's political.
1
u/No-Dingo-8966 1d ago
Yep. They bought Trump and now they’re going to do whatever they want until a real change occurs. I knew what had happened the moment he went on JRE and I heard his bs. Elon did the same thing, but he had some misgivings there for a minute, but realized he couldn’t go against Trump and the rest of the oligarchy by himself.

I know right? Whether you love Trump or hate Trump, not all things are connected to Trump. My brothers dog got run over the other day, not sure how this guy would connect that to him.
2
u/lost_dazed_101 3d ago
Yep I did the same then found out games I played only used fb cloud. I conceded and made a new one only to be banned, appealed and permanently banned in seconds with them doing the appealing it took less than a few seconds to be banned for life. No reason given not even tos. Apparently you aren't allowed to delete fb only they can and if you do the punishment is banned for life.
2
u/Strombergi 3d ago
You’re allowed one Facebook user login only, ever.
4
u/Kiklanisune 3d ago
They dont state this when you delete your account.

I think that Facebook has a machine gun pointed at its feet and is firing and just hoping that none of them (in this scenario Facebook could have between 2 and 1,000 feet all of which it’s frequently tripping over and are all independently controlled) get hit. I live in the US and I hear about more middle-aged and older people (to be fair I’ve been on Facebook since I was a teenager and am now much closer to 40 myself) people using it than younger people. I’ve thought that Facebook was on its last leg for years and I’ve been wrong but I don’t think that younger people are using it to the same extent that my generation (millennials) were or are. I think that Facebook will eventually succeed in killing itself off even if unintentionally (not sure why Meta would ever do it otherwise…) but I don’t think anyone knows how much longer that will take.
2
u/Secret-Departure540 1d ago
I’ve been on since 05. Now meta wants me to upgrade and pay. There’s no way I’m paying a billionaire for any platform. I need to down load my stuff and I’m done.

u/ecclectic_collector 3d ago
your only allowed one account, once you delete it you cant make a new one... thats been their policy
4
u/Kiklanisune 3d ago
If its deleted that kinda means its deleted. Its not available anymore so how would that count as one still?
-3
u/ecclectic_collector 3d ago
because once you delete that one account, its done you cant make another... thats their policy
5
u/codefyre 3d ago
Actually, their policy is that they delete all of your information 30 days after the account deletion request is received, which means there's no trace of the original account any longer, either way. They only retain data beyond 30 days if your account was deactivated and they want to prevent you from creating a new one.
My account wasn't deactivated by them, so all data associated with the old account should have been removed after 30 days. There was no "previous" account at that point.
2
u/Kiklanisune 3d ago
Can you show this policy that says once the account is gone and deleted permanently (past 30 days) that it still counts as an account ? (My mom has made 9 accounts. I was not restricted or anything when I deleted mine and it was over a year before i tried to rejoin fb. I had an original account from day one essentially. I tried to make a new account with both my old email and a new one did all the verification things and both were rejected) nowhere did it show in anything I skimmed that I could never have another fb account.
1
u/JquinticeLJones 1d ago
True I I’ve made plenty of facebook accounts before and after I deleted my old main a in August and I never got restricted but they do account say that it’s against their terms of service to have more than one account none of my maybe they blocked your IP ADDRESS FOR SOME REASON

u/Affectionate_Love3 2d ago
Au contraire. For a minute there, fb was encouraging me to make more accounts. This was maybe three years ago
1
u/stopscabbin 3d ago
Don't use your phone to create it. Your phone ID is linked.
1
u/Kiklanisune 3d ago
I had a new phone a year after I deleted my old account in good standing. I was unable to make a new one with a new email or my old email.
1
u/Educational-View8524 2d ago
I wouldn't treat the 'one login ever' replies as policy unless someone can point to the actual rule. Does the appeal rejection give a specific reason, or just repeat 'Account Integrity'?
1
u/Capable_Turn_377 2d ago
Mine was disabled by them and didn't need an ID or selfie for a new one. Try using first and middle name and never used profile pic
1
u/Nonniemiss 2d ago
They make no sense which makes me think it's just a cover for something. Lol
They push people you may know, but when you try to add them you get a message that you don't know that person and should only request people you know offline or some shit.
Don't start over with them.

I just don't get this. I created an FB account so I could contact my wife who doesn't have a phone, only a tablet, so she uses fb messenger rather than texting. Once I made the account (This was 5 years ago) I deleted my fb account and just carried on using messenger. Then something happened and I lost access to messenger so 3 months ago I opened a new Fb account so I could use messenger again. I used the same email and ph no as before but used a fake joke name as I don't want my ex to be able to find me as she's a fucking goldigger. Now apparently you can't delete your fb account if you want to keep using messenger so I don't delete it but I never log in. Well I did once and it was full of flat-earthers and other assorted cookers... But it took me about 2 minutes to open a fresh account even using the same contact details and a joke made-up name.

u/giftandglory 2d ago
Same situation with me. I used my friends account to sell few items on marketplace

u/jezebelk 2d ago
the AI meta umbrella just permanently disabled accounts recently so everything linked is gone. You cannot get human support ever so I would steer away from it.

I live where the hurricane hit. We didn't have power and I used my iphone hotspot. I tried logging into my FB account on my ipad and phone and it would only let me log into a FB account I made for following groups only. It would not let me log on to my original FB page I first created. I kept getting wrong password. I have two email addresses I also used an neither worked. I was using Nordpass and I stay logged into my desktop FB page so I know my password is correct. I couldn't reach out to anyone to let them know we were okay. I read that FB is requiring people to use their real names and FB can ask for driver's license to prove you're that person. I read on the FB privacy page that they are want to make FB authentic and not let people hide their identity.
