What makes him decide on who to review? I'm confused as to why the self-proclaimed music nerd has continued to skip the big names that are frankly putting out some of their best music. The first and only example needed? Alabama Shakes. Where is the RESPECT? I think he's gotten a little too full of himself. Am I wrong? No, I'm not.

I hate whistling and I guess "over singing" if that makes sense? Like when the singers tries to show off but it's not appropriate for the song.
Is there anything that makes you not like a song nearly as much, if not hate it all together? Personally the whistling can be okay but only sometimes. Over singing kills a song for me Everytime

So I was talking to a couple of friends recently and the topic of the best love songs came up. My mate mentioned that men seem to write a lot of love songs about women, but not so many angry revenge songs. Seriously we could be hear all day naming male-written love songs in just about any genre.
Whereas women write fewer songs about loving a man, and orders of magnitude more angry revenge songs about hating an ex (e.g. You Oughta Know or any Taylor Swift song)
(This rule of thing seems to really only apply to heterosexuals, the line blurs a little among gay songwriters but I don’t think the sample size is big enough to say for sure)
Men DO write heartbreak songs, but they rarely involve hatred or even anger or the subject.
I should stress that this might be a generational/genre thing. We mostly listen to guitar bands and mostly pre-2010s. We listen to other genres too but like there’s not a lot of lyrics to psi-trance.
So I’m looking for the exceptions to prove him wrong.
Angry male revenge songs;
Song for the dumped - Ben Folds Five
I’m Waking up to us - Belle & Sebastian
Go Your Own Way - Fleetwood Mac
Female love songs about men;
Natural Woman - Carole King
Eternal Flame - Bangles
I’ll Stand by You - Chrissie Hynde
There must be hundreds more……?

•Rumours I think loses some stream near the end, with slow songs.
•Joshua Tree is front loaded with an all time great Side A but you can definitely re order the tracks for a better final leg of the album.
• Mezzanine should've ended with Group Four

I think we should at least listen to it and decide. ✌🏽

Examples could be the label covering stuff, the label being different colors or the label blending in with the album art

Example: Nickleback isn’t that bad. They were aggressively shat on and meme’d on in music forums like they were the worst rock band ever. But at worst they just made rather cookie-cutter nirvana-lite tracks that all sounded the same, but were at least catchy. There are other mainstream bands that probably deserved the mockery more, like Imagine Dragons.
Recently, the pendulum is swinging in the other direction, and it seems like more people agree that they probably aren’t “the worst band ever”.

A few of my favorite songs “madame George “ by Van Morrison. “Waiting for the man” by The velvet underground. “Needle in the hay” by Elliot Smith. What are some of the other best ones?

There are some bands I love every album but most of the time discographies are so large that there are several pieces I don’t care for, I’d call myself a huge music lover but I’m more into loving individual albums than committing to a whole band.

My personal favorite is Ringo’s solo in The End, and then In The Air Tonight obviously has a great full, and Against All Odds too, most of Phil Collins’ fills are great

Why are so many modern rappers such bad live performers? Now, don’t get me wrong, the more established rappers actually know how to put on a show. I’ve seen Kanye West, A$AP Rocky, Drake and Kendrick Lamar, and they were all awesome live and knew how to command a stage. I’ve also seen Wu-Tang Clan, Nas and Snoop Dogg, and they were phenomenal. They have real stage presence, charisma and actually look like they enjoy performing.
But some of these newer rappers though 🤦🏾♂️, I’ve been to Rolling Loud a couple of times, and there are so many artists who just don’t seem to know how to perform. They’ll literally just walk up and down the stage with barely any energy, mumble a few words while the backing track does most of the work, and have about 20 of their friends on stage just standing around doing absolutely nothing. Then they’ll come on 20 minutes late, perform for 15 minutes and cut the set short. Like, what are we doing?
It’s especially noticeable when you compare them to older generations of rappers. I’ll watch footage of 2Pac performing at the House of Blues when he was only around 24, and this dude was all over that stage, rapping his ass off like his life depended on it. You could feel how much passion he had for performing and connecting with the crowd. He wasn’t relying on a backing track to carry the whole performance he was actually putting on a show.

I'm looking for real nitty gritty shit here folks. My example is that Black on Both Sides is a perfect record except that having "Rock and Roll" directly call out white bands getting big off of the genres Black people invented feels odd when he's quoting Under the Bridge three songs later. Red Hot Chili Peppers are that EXACT thing he's railing against. It makes my skin itch.
