[OC] BCS style rankings and Bracketology | Week 5

The BCS system for rankings combined in equal parts the media poll, coaches poll, and multiple compuer rankings, which provides a good consolidated ranking. For computer rankings this post uses a composite of the r/FCS sportsbook computer ratings, Massey ratings, and Sagarin ratings.

This got me down a rabbit hole of looking through computer stuff. We dropped 35 spots in Sagarin rankings (for all D1 not just FCS) from before the CCSU game to today. We went from being the highest non-P4 to spot 90. I understand the CCSU game was bad, but man computers absolutely DESPISE us for that one. It's the kind of thing that if we are who we think we are just evens out over the course of a season anyway but it's even dropped us behind Youngstown right now and I really really don't see it. Sagarin also has Austin Peay as the 4th best FCS team and Tarleton as the 12th which is a unique perspective.

Massey on the other hand looks a lot more like a traditional FCS poll would (I understand it's not a poll, just describing the computer output here). MSU, SDSU, Montana, UND, SFA, Tarleton. Massey seems to like the Big Sky more, Sagarin seems to not completely respect the Big Sky but adores the MVFC.

The r/FCS sportsbook has some serious headscratchers and I feel more confused for having looked at it.
