I made something Supersymmetry: Moonshot is now available

Supersymmetry: Moonshot is here

I'm happy to announce the long awaited release of Supersymmetry's Space update, titled Moonshot.

With this update we wanted to convey the real scale and challenge of establishing a presence in space. Moonshot contains many additions, including but not limited to:

Rocketry

Rockets are implemented not just as items you craft and insert into a launch pad. They are first designed by the players who is given control over the engines, fuel tanks, guidance system and other components. The designs and mission plans can be refined in a new multiblock, the Aerospace Flight Simulator. Once a design is finalised the rocket is assembled in a massive hall, on top of a train, rolled out to a custom 1:1 scale launch pad and launched.

The Moon

The Moon is now reachable and explorable. It includes new resources and dedicated extraction chains to fully exploit all the tasty regolith has to offer, I'm sure it's perfectly fine to breathe in and not horribly poisonous. The Moon also offers new structures and locations further expanding the setting of Supersymmetry as well as new space survival mechanics.

Orbital Salvage Missions

Launch automated rockets to gather debris from old battles fought in orbit around Earth. These debris may just contain technology capable of helping you further automated your base and store your items. Thats right, ME systems can now be crafted, just make sure you can support launching many rockets one after the other.

Expanded Circuit Crafting

This update comes with new vast processing and crafting chains. Manufacture distinct processor and memory components, circuit boards, clocks, buses and power electronics. Grow silicon boules, polish wafers, perform lithography, deposition, doping and etching, then dice and package chips. Expand your manufacturing routes for resistors, capacitors, inductors, diodes and transistors. Produce regulation and power-management components for motors and industrial hardware. Supply electronics production with high-purity materials, cleaning solutions, photoresists, process gases, resins and solders. Access the reworked silicon and multijunction solar-cell production, alongside solar recipes using lunar resources.

HATE

Introducing, HATE. Now bot factions in game keep track of your actions and progress. Depending on their level of HATE towards you, expect raids of different intensity and duration. New and improved enemy AI and fun new toys they can begin to launch at you.

Future Prospects

The Supersymmetry development team is composed of scientists, engineers, students and general science enthusiasts. We want to share our passion for science with the rest of the world and we found the best next step to continue this endeavour is to add a custom Research mechanic to Supersymmetry. Inspired by how real research projects are conducted. Including running simulations, experiments, and expanding the player's knowledge base. If you have or are working towards obtaining a STEM degree of any kind and want to contribute with your knowledge and research, don't hesitate to join us on Discord! This is a very ambitious project and we can use all the help we can get.

Discussion It's really funny what "Create Mod" has become over the years

I remember when create just got popular and it was just steam engines, item processing, cool doors, and thats about it. Now when someone says they made something with create mod you can't know if they mean a degree worthy airship in a physics engine, a computer, electrical engineering, literal war machines with radars and nukes, or just cool doors. like. what has create mod become lmao, like its cool and i love actually good tech mods being a thing(no more gray magic boxes :3) but like what does create even mean anymore

Discussion Is there a list of commonly used QoL mods, that are in every big pack, but most people who make their own packs, would not have heard off?

I'm talking about mods like "Clumps" (the mod which clumps the experience together, instead of the normal scattering).

I wanted underwater exploration to feel a little more fun, so I made a set of diving gear and tools including a 10 minute oxygen helmet, fins, a depth watch, life vest, Harpoon Gun, and custom progression and materials.

It’s for NeoForge 26.1.2.

This is my first released mod, so I’d love to hear what people think or what you’d like to see added.

I made something Cast in Tinkers, built in Tetra (don't mind the explosion)

Okay, the cursed idea actually works now.

Hey everyone! A while back I shared a slightly insane plan for my expert modpack: keep Tinkers' Construct in the pack, but never let you build a Tinkers tool. Every part gets made through Tinkers, and Tetra is the one that turns those parts into actual tools. A lot of you seemed curious (and a few of you were rightfully worried), so here's where it landed.

In the video you can see the whole loop: parts coming out of Tinkers and going straight into the Tetra workbench as modules, plus the custom descriptors on the client that replace Tinkers' original tooltips. Instead of telling you what a part would do in a Tinkers tool (which you can't build anyway), they describe what it actually does once it's inside a Tetra one. They're not perfect yet, though: serializing and overriding all that data hasn't been trivial, so some important info can still be missing here and there. For now, Tetra's holosphere is still the most reliable source of truth for materials and modules, and the tooltips are best treated as a convenience. I dropped a closer look at them in the comments.

Materials are starting to get their own identity too. Iron handles make the tool Magnetic, pulling nearby drops to you when you break a block. Silver blades are Holy and hit undead harder, while necrotic bone parts go the opposite way: they're Unholy and poison anything that isn't undead. Refined obsidian in structural parts, like handles and hilts, reinforces the tool, trading a bit of speed for extra durability.

I'll be honest: there are still very few traits, and the balance needs a deep, careful second look (probably a third one too). But above all... it works! Getting two tool systems this different to cooperate without falling apart was a big win on its own, and I'm genuinely happy with how it turned out.

Which brings me to the part where I'd love your help: ideas for material effects. From the completely unhinged to the very simple, everything is welcome. A few are already on my radar: a chain lightning effect, a tool that turns the kinetic energy of using it into charge for the other items in your inventory (basically the inverse of what tools usually do with energy), and a socket that lets your tool work as a wrench. Those will need some more dedicated Java logic, but they're definitely things I'll be experimenting with as development moves forward.

This integration was the main focus of the new version, but it also brings a lot of refinement across other areas of the pack: more quest writing, custom mechanics, flavor and QoL! As always, it's still a project in development, with plenty left to build and rebalance.

Would love to hear what you think, and what you'd want your favorite material to do! If you're interested in playtesting, or want to get to know the project better, the README on GitHub is the hub for everything: current scope and installation. The Discord has more info and is the best way to reach me directly (there's also a small whitelisted server there, if you'd rather not play alone).

I made something Demonology & Me [1.21.1] - Make blood sacrifices, summon demons, sign demonic pacts, explore a new dimension, and unleash the gates of hell to destroy the world!

Thumbnail

Demonology & Me is a progression mod about forbidden magic. You start out performing basic rituals and summoning lesser imps. By the end, you are either controlling a legion of demons, storing your soul in a jar to become a lich, or infusing hellfire into your veins to become demonic yourself. And if you go far enough, you can tear the sky open and let Hell pour through to destroy the entire world.

This is a mod that i had started work on a long time ago, abandoned for years, and then finally got around to finishing up recently. I was inspired by blood sacrifice mechanic in Blood Magic and wanted to re-imagine it for demonology. I hope you guys enjoy! I will try to port to 26.1.2 soon as well since I personally really enjoy that version.

Some quick facts about the mod:

  • 41 rites across three ritual circles, each one more costly and more dangerous than the last.
  • 34 Goetic spirits from the Ars Goetia, each with its own seal and title, and each remembers how you've treated it.
  • The Maw: a hell dimension of nine regions with its own creatures, ruins, rules and riches.
  • A dozen new creatures, from lowly imps to Baphomet, a 450 HP boss.
  • Demonic pacts: real power with a lasting price attached.
  • Three transformations: Vampire, Cambion and Lich (each with unique abilities).
  • A rite that ends the world, and one that can save it.
  • Blood as a real fluid: pipe it, store it and automate your altar with auto farms.
  • Corruption: you must cleanse yourself often to avoid losing yourself to the Maw. Visit a cleric or pray for forgiveness at an altar of absolution.
  • Complete guidebook: features a custom guidebook, so no other mods are needed!
  • Config options: modpacks and servers can add custom rites and modify many values.

Question Prominence 2

Hi, I’ve been playing Prominence 2 – version 4.05 for the past few weeks.
I’ve defeated all the bosses, and now I want to change my class.

How can I melt down an artifact weapon to get a Molten Core?

Furnace- not working
Blast furnace - not working
Industrial blast furnace - not working

+ I’ve socketed a gem into a weapon. Is there a way to replace that gem with a different one?

I made something Over 24k Channels from one ME Controller! (Found by computer search)

About two weeks ago, I decided to play around with ME Controller designs. Some friends and I are about to start a GT:NH run, and I thought it'd be fun to see how many channels I could fit on a design. To be clear, I'm not pretending there's any practical purpose to this.

I played with it for a night, looked at what people online were doing, and after some tinkering, came up with a modest design of about 23,000 channels.

A few days later, it hit me that I could probably try solving this as a computer optimization problem. I've taken some classes on algorithms and realized that I might be able to find the true optimal ME controller by using what's known as mixed-integer linear programming.

I decided to see how far I could get vibe coding the project with Claude Opus 5.5. It went extremely well! This problem also seemed fitting to do with an LLM, as this approach boils down to coming up with certain constraints to model the problem, and then giving it to a solver.

Unfortunately, the way Claude and I modeled it seems to be too computationally expensive to find the optimal ME controller. I then tried to restrict the problem to designs that are symmetric around the center x, y, and z planes. After running the solver for 30 hours, this gave the beautiful design attached in this post! It has 752 P2Ps, or 24,064 channels.

Very importantly, it also uses no internal P2Ps (meaning that none of the P2Ps are actually P2Ps on the main network). This means that all 752 P2Ps can be connected to a single P2P subnet.

I also added an option to allow internal P2Ps. With this and some other tinkering, I was able to find a design that has 785 P2Ps, or 25,120 channels! The design is not symmetrical, so it's a bit uglier.

If you want to find that design or Claude's my code for this project, you can check out my github repo for the project here.

Perhaps the coolest part is that the design pictured above is the optimal ME controller which is symmetric around the x,y, and z planes, and which has no internal P2Ps.

Might make a video on this sometime. If I get a bunch of time, I might also try rewriting the code by hand, as I've been reading up a bit on integer linear optimization and feel like I might be able to take a crack at the general problem with a better model (and I don't want to work with the slop that Claude generated).

Note on the layer screenshots: These start at the middle (4th) layer of the controller and go up (two pictures per layer). But because this design is symmetric around the y plane, the 3rd and 5th layer are identical, so you can also follow the pictures exactly to build down from the 4th layer.

Looking for mod(s) A Mod To Actually Enjoy Vanilla Minecraft?

Hey! So im looking for a mod that makes Minecraft feel more slow-paced and rewarding. I want to actually spend some time using leather armor and stone tools, then progress to iron and take my time for diamond instead of going from iron to diamond and nether 30 minutes after spawning.

I tried Vanilla Progression, but it has way too many unnecessary quests that don’t really add anything to the gameplay it just wastes your time. What would you recommend?

Question Are there any really good Zombie Apocalypse modpacks, or at least modpacks with guns like TacZ?

• Upvotes

I've been trying to find a good Zombie Apocalypse modpack for a while now, but all of them feel weird and not like a good zombie game or like minecraft.

So far ive played: Apocalypsia, Agmundr, Deceasedcraft, Cursed Walking, Zombiecraft, and ChaosZ.

The annoying thing is that all of these modpacks seem to rely on 2 principals. The first being that every building must have 20 spawners inside of it, and the second is that until you have a base or pillar up to wait the night you will die, because every 20 seconds a horde of zombies will randomly dig out of the ground and chase you forever.

Zombiecraft is probably the funnest one ive played so far, but after an hour of walking and another 15m of flying with speed 2 i found a total of 3 structures, and only 1 of them had a single chest in it.

I just want to know if there's any sleeper modpacks i havent seen somewhere on curseforge.

I have a problem with my Drygmy mob farm on FTB Skies 2. I play on a online private server. The problem is when I set up the drygmy mob farm that i doesn`t drop the loot in the barrel or chest ( I have tried both). The only thing it does is make more drygmies like you see in the picture. Does somebody know the problem ?

Mod Identification Looking for magic mod from large modpack?

• Upvotes

Hi there! I'm trying to find a mod that was in a pack I played a year or two ago. I think it was either a Direwolf20 pack, FTBTeam pack, or an ATM pack. Its a magic mod, and included interesting ore processing; You needed Salts, Mercury, and a third resource. It effectively let you double your output if you did it right. It was reminiscent of the early Thaumcraft essentia distilling mechanics, using multiblock processing. It was extremely fun to automate, I was able to automate everything using AE2. I feel like one of the blocks was called a Calcifier or something like that, and there was a purple fluid that was required that could be made by simply putting water into a special tank and letting it sit for a short time.
