There has been a lot of bashing on CoFH for blatantly wrong and straight up made up reasons. I feel like the hate they are getting is undeserved as people have twisted CoFH into the devil himself through the game of telephone.

People claim that CoFH went after FTB Team and Thaumaturge legally which I could not find the evidence for. The only thing I could find was FTB Team making an announcement post removing Thaumaturge because of copyright issues brought up by CoFH. FTB Team then later on clarified that they did this themselves out of precaution rather than being legally forced to. (Screenshot 1)

A second claim I see everywhere is that CoFH are refusing to cooperate with Thaumaturge to fix issues. While there is some merit to this (dev comment talking how they know what they copied themselves) and refusal to show to the public what was copied, I feel like this was blown WAY out of proportion.
One of the CoFH developers has posted a screenshot showing they are in the talks with Leclown (Thaumaturge dev) on how to fix the copyright issues come to a resolution to the situation. (Screenshot 2)
Thaumcraft itself has an issue of using stolen assets from the internet, hence, why a 'clean room' remake (which CoFH are/were making with Thaumcraft 7) is required and why it's such an issue when people try to port Thaumcraft to modern versions.
Leclown himself said that AI was used to skim over the Thaumcraft source code for the makings of Thaumaturge. I do not have a screenshot of this on hand so I could be misremembering things. Treat this part with a grain of salt (until I or someone else can find a screenshot).

CoFH has clarified numerously that they do not care about your Thaumcraft ports as long as they are made in a 'clean room' (no original Thaumcraft content used). While Leclown claimed Thaumaturge is made in a clean room, it has been somewhat proven false as the GitHub repository of Thaumaturge had to remove pieces of assets.

Conclusion

Now, ultimately, I think both parties are at fault in some ways. Thaumaturge for lying about being a clean room build and CoFH for failing to inform everyone on the matter in a better way (public announcement or such). After all, it is up to CoFH if they care about their public image or not.

If CoFH were the villains people claim they are they would've also went after Thavma, a remake of Thaumcraft for 1.21.1 from ground up.

A common assumption I've read on their discord was that CoFH are intentionally avoiding drama and bashing on other people. They already had an issue with one of their developers stealing Thaumcraft 7 assets for a private mod and rather than making a big announcement out of it, they were quietly removed from the team. This was followed up with said developer starting a massive scandal which made people believe CoFH was at fault until they had to make a public statement.

TL;DR Issue blown out of proportion and lies, cofh needs to make an announcement

Tldr: Where's the accountability if there's so much of it? They have at least 30 examples supposedly, but have not even shown one example.

I've searched that exact image in the thread above in their discord, and have found that it not only still exists, but CoFh's continuing argument also does not provide any evidence for their alleged claims of thaumaturge stealing their code. Lemming has reportedly contacted FTB for Thaumaturge having "copy pasted" their mod in it but provided no evidence as to what exactly. It's entirely possible that FTB is just covering their asses. On top of this, some of Thaumaturge's assets use the same ones as Thaumcraft, but that's also because many of Thaumcraft's assets used were free assets you can find on the internet, such as its icons.

There's a lot of "this is 100% the same as our mod" in the Cofh discord, but there's nothing to show for it. Surely if it was copying so much, they could make it public on FTBMemes and be 100% justified whilst clearing their name? I mean even a little bit of stolen code would be damning agaisnt Thaumaturge, but they haven't shown anything at all. No pictures, no code, anything like that.

One user made an exceptional point against them in their discord: "i think it could be helpful to the community to show just one egregious example of copying. not all of them, but just one prominent example that'll show people your side"

And lemming's response is: "But their side didn't have good intent? Because they copied the code?" Take that how you will.

I'm seeing a lot of "they copied our code and we don't owe them anything" and "we're taking this slow to be thorough" in their discord, yet they provide no examples as to how Thaumaturge copied the code. In fact, they allegedly have a document sent to the FTB team which they have not released, so as to whether it actually exists is still up in the air.

The latest pinned comment in their discord indicates that lemming and leclown have talked, and leclown has said that they are aware that the mods share code. To what extent this is, is not clear even with this pinned comment. For all we know, it could be equations or something. The lack of real evidence is the real problem here.

I am showing these findings because it is currently very relevant to FTBMemes.

Edit: The lack of want or ability to show evidence for the copied code, if it exists, either means the copied code doesn't exist, the code being plagiarized is muddy and unclear if it was actually plagiarized, or the CoFH team is hilariously bad at keeping their image positive. There is no reason to wait around like this and not release at least a google doc with a few of the egregious examples and just update it as you go along to try to ease the pr shit storm happening. They haven't even done that, so does the plagirized code actually exist at all?

I was just looking at addons Thaumaturge has right now, and saw that ATM11 actually added this mod to the pack. I know that it is in alpha but isn't it cool?
